MACPHEE, CECIL V. - Cecil V. MacPhee, age 81, of Intervale, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006, at The Moncton Hospital. Born in East Hants, NS, he was the son of the late Clarence and M. Ella (Parker) MacPhee. He was self employed, having worked in the lumbering and trucking business. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in Canada and Continental Europe with the First Battalion North Shore, New Brunswick Regiment. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dora (Etter); daughters, Pauline Munro of Ottawa, Nancy Payne (Dalton) of Kamloops, Susan Chambers (Maurice) of Petitcodiac, Kathy Smith (Ron) of Wheaton Settlement; sons, Gary (Lou) of Petitcodiac and Richard (Pam) of Edmonton; sisters, Olive Spacey of Kelowna, Carole Martin (Edward) of Petitcodiac, and Joyce Holman (Parker) of Moncton; brothers, Reginald (Maurietus) of Petitcodiac, George of Petitcodiac, Phillip of Saint John, and Jeffrey (Sandra) of Petitcodiac; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as many relatives in Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac, where visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 41, Petitcodiac will be holding a Memorial Service at the funeral home, Tuesday at 6:45pm. The Funeral will be held from St. James United Church, Petitcodiac on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 2pm with Rev. Charlotte Youland officiating. The burial will be held in Maplewood Cemetery. LAWTON, LAURA BEATRICE - Laura Beatrice Lawton passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24th, 2006, at Nashwaak Villa in Stanley. She was 99 ½ years old. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth, and brothers, Ron and Ralph. Born on January 27th, 1907, Laura lived in Saint John all of her life until she was 95 when she moved to Fredericton to be nearer to her closest relatives - Leanne Laura (Lawton) Crandall (Bob) and daughters, Jaclyn and Jillian Crandall. In Saint John, Laura spent many years as an active member of Exmouth Street United Church and later of Centenary Queen Square Church. She was also a member of the U. C. T. She worked for over forty years as Secretary for H. C. Lawton Electrical Ltd. In 1986, Laura moved to the Admiral Beatty Complex and lived there for sixteen years until she moved to Fredericton where she resided at Windsor Court, Ste. Anne's Court and finally in Naskwaak Villa. Laura will be dearly missed by those closest to her - Leanne, Bob, Jaclyn, Jillian and special cousin, Leanore Boyd, of Moncton. At Laura's request, there will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery for immediate family only. Annie Mae Moore 1929 - 2006 LAKEVILLE, NB - After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Annie Mae Moore of Biddington Ave, Lakeville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26th, 2006 at The Moncton Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dominion, NS on October 18, 1929, Annie Mae was the widow of the late Harry Moore and the daughter of the late Martin Joseph and Sarah (McMahon) MacPherson. A loving and devoted Mother, she is survived by her daughters, Leonie Griffin (George) of Moncton and Marlene Moore of Lakeville; her sons, Terry Moore (Patricia) of Riverview, Brian Moore of Lakeville, Gerard Moore (Frances Marie) of Glace Bay , NS and Barry Moore (Lois) of Lower Coverdale. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who she took great pride and enjoyment in, Lisa, Sarah, Adam, Innis and Jennifer Moore, Jessica and Joseph McLeod, David Griffin, and Shelly and Rick Matchett. LAWTON, MURIEL A. - The death of Muriel A. Lawton, wife of the late Edward Christopher Lawton, occured on August 26th, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Bertrum O. and Emma Jane (Davidson) Lackie. She was employed with the Dietary Department of Saint John General Hospital and retired from the Housekeeping Department of St. Joseph's Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Saint John, had been a member of the Church of the Ascension, Red Head, was a current member of Stone Church and belonged to the Good Fellowship Seniors Club, Old Black River Road. Surviving are sons, James Edward (Roxie), Frederick Roy (Rhonda) and Edward Timothy (Darlene), all of Saint John; daughters, Jean Bernice Corbiere of St. Catherine's, Carole Marlene Mason of St. Catherine's, Darlene Rose (Thomas Love) of Kingston, NB, Patricia Elizabeth (Ervine Worrall) of Saint John, and Valarie June (Robert Connell) of Saint John; sisters, Marion Marr and Audrey Cyr of Saint John; her 31 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Her son, Rodney Lloyd and daughter, Marjorie Louise Boucher of Saint John predeceased her. GREEN, LINDA MARIE - It is with great sadness the family of Linda Marie (Holder) Green, of Lower Millstream, NB, announce her passing, on August 27, 2006, after a brave battle with cancer. Born in 1950, to the late Leslie and Kathleen (Hayward) Holder. Linda was the loving wife of James Green; dedicated mother of Mark and Carol (Beers) and Stacy; as well as cherished care giver, and mother of special sons, Randy and Ryan; and the proud grandmother of Rylie and Jensen. Linda also leaves behind her sisters, Louise and David Fyffe, Riverview, Elizabeth and Eldon MacKay, Coles Island, and Marion Holder, Sackville; brothers, George and Pat Holder, Pearsonville and Stewart and Margaret Holder, Edmonton, AB. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Olive and Murray Green, Lower Millstream; sister-in-law, Blanche and Gordon Hendy, Windsor, NS; and brother-in-law, Ken and Mariette Green, Lower Millstream; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Gilbert in 1969. Linda unselfishly dedicated her life to the care of others, celebrated in the successes of her family and friends, and gave joy to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. DAVIDSON, JACQUELINE ANNE (ROBERTS) - The death of Jacqueline Davidson, wife of Michael Brian Davidson occurred on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at her home in Quispamsis with her family at her bedside. Born on September 27, 1977 at St. Rita Hospital in Sydney, N.S. Jacqueline graduated with honours from KV High School, Quispamsis in 1995; graduated from UNBSJ with B.Sc. in 1999; studied linguistics at Dalhousie University 2000; a graduate in nuclear medicine technology at NBCC, 2004, Jackie was employed at the Saint John Regional Hospital in the nuclear medicine department. Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Mike Davidson; parents, Thomas (Tom) and Barbara (Leger) Roberts, Quispamsis; two sisters, Mary Margaret Roberts (Peter), Saint John and Christina Elizabeth Roberts (Jared McNeill), Saint John; nephew, Matthew Thomas Roberts; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Robert Davidson, Springfield; brother-in-law, Andrew Davidson, Saint John; aunts, Betty Knowles, Thunder Bay, Mary Joyce, Quispamsis, Jeanne d'Arc Majeski, Boston, Carol McFee, Ottawa; uncles, Peter Leger, Kingston Peninsula, Roger Leger, Moncton, John Leger, Quispamsis, James Leger, Kitchener, and their spouses. BARTLETT, BERNARD ROGERSON - Bernard Bartlett died peacefully on Friday, August 25th, 2006 at York Manor Nursing Home in his 87th year. Born at Bartlett's Mills, Charlotte County, N.B. on March 29, 1920, he was the son of the late E. Hollis and Georgie (Lawrence) Bartlett, and beloved husband of the late Bettie (Ferris) Bartlett. He was the loving and greatly respected Father of Doug Bartlett (Annalee) and Marilyn Brady (Dwight.) His cherished grandchildren are Heather Brady (Marshall Posner), Robyn Brady (Michael Regnier), Jonathan Bartlett (Susan Cole), Lynsey Bartlett, and Katy Culberson (Andrew). His surviving siblings are Lester Bartlett (Mardi), Frances Steeves (Perley) and Lois Booker (Ronald). He was predeceased by his parents, his wife; brothers, Lawrence, Beverley, Marvin and Hubert and sister, May. He will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of good friends. His strong Christian faith was attested in his membership of Brunswick Street United Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member and Boy Scout leader. He was also a member of the Gideons and the Fredericton Golden Club. His enjoyment of hunting and fishing turned in later years to a fondness for bird watching, photography and golf. Bernard was a graduate of N.S. Agricultural College and McDonald College of McGill University. He was a poultry field man, then Director of the Poultry and Marketing Branches of the N.B. Department of Agriculture, from which he retired in 1980. Visitation will be at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, August 31st, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1st, 2006 at 2 PM at Brunswick Street Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Terry Atkinson and Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be at the Oak Bay Rural Cemetery at 7 PM. The family extends special thanks to the excellent staff of York Manor Nursing Home for their loving care administered over the past 8 years.
