Alan R. Hicks
1935-2012
Hicks, Alan Ralph, 77, of Riverview passed away Monday July 30, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Havelock he was a son of the late Donald and Irene (Atkinson) Hicks. Alan graduated from the former Havelock High School, he retired from the Department of Manpower as a student placement officer at the NBCC in Moncton. He enjoyed woodworking, building ship models and reading. For many years his passion was flying planes he built and was a longtime member and past president of the Havelock Flying Club.
Survived and sadly missed by his wife Joan (McLaughlin); daughter Judith Hicks of Riverview; his brothers Ronald (Ruby) and Brian (Jennifer) of Havelock; step children Janice Cain of Vancouver and Robert Cain (Cynthia) of Riverview and a step granddaughter Sarah Henwood (Greg) of Halifax and by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his first wife Margaret (Coates) and a daughter Sheila.
The family will receive guests at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel on Thursday August 2 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brent Ham officiating. Interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock.
If desired, memorials to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
Jim Stone
Jim Stone of Picadilly, NB passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 14, 2003 at the age of 36. Born in Corner Brook, NFLD on July 29, 1966, he was the son of Benjamin and June (Stuckless) Stone of Corner Brook. Besides his parents, Jim is survived by his wife and best friend Liz, 4 brothers; Ben and his wife Jennifer of Corner Brook, Roy and his wife Chris of Kentville, NS, Doug and his wife Lorraine of Corner Brook, Bill and his wife Vonnie of Toronto, 6 sisters; Mary Coates and her husband Len of Bonnieville, Alberta, June Woods and her husband Bob of Ontario, Linda Butt and her husband Les of Corner Brook, Dorothy Batt and her husband Byron of Fort McMurray, Terry Stone of Sussex, Shirley Strickland and her husband Don of NFLD, Gail and her husband Al of Charlottetown, his sister-in-law, Colleen McQuinn and her husband Dave of Picadilly, 2 brothers- in- law Murray Doucette and his wife Tammy of Kingston, Ont, Bob Doucette and his fiancée Stephanie Hovey of Saint John, his father-in-law, Bert Doucette of Corner Brook, his mother-in-law, Billie Ross and her husband Donnie of Norton, Jim’s two Angels Ocean-Leigh, and Adena of Sussex, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Jim’s request there will be no visitation. A casual “Tribute of Remembrance” will be held at Wallace Funeral Home on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 7:00 pm.
As an expression of sympathy donations made to the “Living Memorial” would be appreciated by the family.
Christena Black
1930-2012
Christena Clarissa Black, 82, of the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Canaan Forks and Killam Mills, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Steeves Settlement she was the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl (Killam) Graves. Christena was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, playing her piano, attending music jams, genealogy and family dinners. She also enjoyed visits with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Christena taugtht school and ran the post office in Canaan Forks.
She is survived and missed by son Sheldon Black (Mary) of Canaan Forks, their sons Anthony Black (Crystal) and their daughter Riley Black, Dana Black (Coralee) and their daughter Willow Black; daughter Connie Ryder of Sunny Corner and her son R. Gary Ryder (Heidi) and their children Andi and Noah Ryder; daughter Marlene Black (Daryl Slocum) of Bagdad; son George Black (Tammy) of Canaan Forks and their daughters Vanessa and Kelsey Black; brother Walter Arnold Graves (Helene) of Penobsquis and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Christena is predeceased by her husband George Black; sons Orval and Q. Dana Black; son-in-law Reginald Ryder and special friend Leo (Lee) Carr.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Wednesday, August 29, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held Thursday, August 30 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment at New Canaan Baptist Cemetery.

Normand Despres
Normand Despres, 78, of Dieppe and formerly of Cocagne passed away at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont UHC on April 23rd, 2019. He was the son of late Fred and Marie-Rose (Léger) Despres.
Before his retirement, he worked at the Moncton Hospital for 32 years. Normand enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and working with his hands. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Dorine (Bourgeois) of Dieppe; four children: Roger (Yona), Paul and Michel all of Moncton and Ronald (Pam) of Dieppe; two sisters: Yvonne Hébert (Paul Cormier) of Caissie Cape and Rosemonde Dionne (Clarence) of Bouctouche; two brothers: Yvon (Lucie) of Bouctouche and Alyre (Marguerite) of Cocagne; four grandchildren: Jérémie, Sophie, Luke and Lucie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Normand was predeceased by a son, Rhéal and siblings: Oscar, Ozina, Aubrey, Bernice and Alfreda.
Resting at St-Pierre de Cocagne Roman Catholic Church (Slumber Room), 2000 route 535 Cocagne where Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday April 25th, 2019 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 pm. Interment in the St-Pierre de Cocagne Cemetery, Cocagne.
In memory of Normand, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Foundation (Rehabilitation department) would be appreciated.

Beverly Rideout
1947-2012
Beverly McLaren Rideout, 64, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital.
Born in Woodstock, he was a son of the late Ralph and Erma (Hillman) Rideout. Beverly was a self employed owner-operator with Midland Courier.
Survived by his wife Barbara (Magee); step daughter Tanya Hansen (Michael) of Upper Coverdale, adopted daughter Julia Puschej of South Branch, daughter Beverley Rideout (Jason) of Saint John; son Ralph of Saint John; brother Wayne of Hamilton, ON; sisters Myrna Wadden of Hamilton, ON, Arlene Fall of Saint John and Ellen Rohne of Arizona; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday, September 27, 7 - 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Friday, September 28 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Liz Wall officiating. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury.

Kenneth Earle Dyment
Peacefully at Summerset Manor on Sunday, April 21st, 2019 at the age of 96, Kenneth Earle Dyment, formerly of Wilmot Valley. Earle was born in Northam, PEI, the eldest son of Edward and Bertha (Birch) Dyment.
While working for the Island Telephone Company, he met Wanda Mann, an outgoing smart woman who shared his belief in the value of hard work and service to their community. After their marriage, they moved to Moncton where they raised two children, Ken and Jane. After a successful career with Willett Fruit Company, Earle and Wanda returned to the Island in 1972. Earle began his second career with Imperial Life, where he became one of their highest ranking agents, and with Wanda operated a Bed and Breakfast in their home on the Blue Shank Road where they entertained guests from around the world for many years.
Earle was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Wanda; his parents, his brother Royden and sister Florence (Eldred Simmons); brothers-in-law Kenneth Clark, Malcolm Milton, Ellsworth Mann, Joseph Harding and Eldred Simmons; sisters-in-law Edna Harding and Marjorie Milton.
He is survived by his son Kenneth (Kumi), Saitama City, Japan and daughter Jane (Mark Saaltink), Ottawa; grandchildren Sarah Carson and Hannah Dupuis, Alberta; Philip and Rebecca Saaltink, Ottawa; Stephen, James and Katherine Kuwabara-Dyment, Saitama City; and 5 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jack and Sam Carson and Abigail and Ireland Dupuis; sister-in-law Pearle Clark, Stratford, sister-in-law Doris Mann, Summerside and brother-in-law Thane Mann (Shirleen), Kensington.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, April 25th, 2019 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the Margate United Church Cemetery, Margate at a later date.
Memorial donations in Earle’s memory to the Bedeque United Church would be greatly appreciated.

Lee Sherwood
1941-2012
Lee Ronald Sherwood, 71, of Intervale passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his home.
Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Walter and Gladys (Killam) Sherwood. Lee worked in mining for years and retired from Cassidy Lake Potash. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and also liked playing his guitar for family.
Lee is survived and missed by his companion M. Joyce Jones (Johnston); sons Stephen of Smithers, BC and Darrin (Kelly) of Salisbury; grandchildren Kaylan, Lee and Charley; brothers Walter A., Jack, Wayne and Richard; sisters Harriett Herrington, Patricia Herrington, Jean Morrisey, Gladys Crithley, Crystal Rogers and Cheryl Wadman and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Betty Hughes; daughter-in-law Dawn and mother of his sons Myrna G. (nee Lewis).
