Roy Colpitts

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Vincent Colpitts, 74, of Colpitts Settlement on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Born in Colpitts Settlement, he was the son of the late Lorne and Clara (Carter) Colpitts. With a smile on his face and a spark of mischief in his eyes, Roy could be counted on to make anyone smile and laugh with his crazy ways and his shenanigans. Roy loved to spend time at the camp playing horseshoes and washer toss with his friends and family. He loved to be in the woods, no matter if he was cutting wood for winter or going on the great moose hunt. He looked forward to the moose draw like a kid looks forward to Christmas each year.
Roy was a husband of 52 years to Donna (Carr), a father to Darrin (Lisa), Vicky (Derrick), Aricka (Roger), Jodi (Darren) and Travis (Cindy). He was a wonderful "Papa" to Danielle, Alexandria, Brody, Taylor, Hayden, Noah, Savanah, Jaxen, Chase and Jacob. He will be missed by his brother Kenny (Eleanor), his sister Peggy and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by his brothers Cecil, Douglas, Weldon and Lorne; his sisters Margaret, Inez and Pauline.
He was loved by all he knew and everyone he met. He was kind and courteous with a great big open heart. He will be greatly missed and always loved.
There will be no service by personal request. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home and Crematorium (372-4800). Interment at a later date.

William 'Bill' Ross
1941-2017
William "Bill" David Ross of Boundary Creek, NB, surrounded by his loving family, fell asleep in the Lord on January 9, 2017 at the Moncton City Hospital.
Born in Charlottetown, PEI, on August 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Rev. Robert W. Ross and Lola (Garrett) Ross, who ministered faithfully for many decades in Presbyterian Churches across New Brunswick, bringing Bill life-long memories and friends in Bass River, Tabusintac, and Sunny Corner.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Roselyne (LeBlanc); his loving children, Melanie (Rick) Van Poelgeest of Hammonds Plains, NS, Christianne (Christopher) Smith of Colpitts Settlement, NB, Robert (Patricia) Ross of Sydney, NS, Cynthia (Christian) Cyr of Moncton, NB, and Marilyn (Jason) Jackett of Grande Prairie, AB; and his grandchildren, Marissa, Richard, Kenzie, Ethan, Lucas, Aspen, Joanna, Catherine, Eden, and Nora. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn (late Gerald) Kierstead of Fredericton, NB, and her children, Katherine (Richard), Ross (Diane), Jodi (Ashley), and Wade (Nancy); his brother Malcolm (Nicole) Ross of Boundary Creek, NB, and his children, Angelique, William, Stephanie (Tim), and Ian; an uncle, Ken (late Pansy) of PEI; and several cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Bill was a devout Christian and an elder at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. His great desire was to see the Gospel presented clearly. He held firmly to the Historic Christian Faith and battled courageously against those who would destroy it. Above all, he loved His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and adored the Holy and Blessed Trinity.
Bill had a long and successful career as a teacher and principal at Harrisville School and Arnold H. McLeod School, from where he retired. His love of children was reflected even after retirement in his many years of service at St. Andrew’s Church in which he shared the message and hope of Jesus Christ to the children and youth, including his precious Pioneer Club.
Bill loved spending time with his family, sharing many happy and memorable times together; he enjoyed practicing karate with his friends at the Oscar Leger School of Karate (especially Wayne!); and hunting with his brother. He was proud of his Scottish heritage, and looked forward to day trips with his siblings, Marilyn and Malcolm, when they would fondly revisit childhood locations.
Bill’s battle is over; the victory has been won. We look forward, by God’s Grace, to meeting him again "upon another shore and in a greater light, with that multitude which no man can number, whose hope was in the Word made flesh, and with whom we for evermore are one."
Bill would love to share a hymn by one of his favourite poets, Rev. Horatius Bonar:
Upon a life I did not live, Upon a death I did not die,
Another’s life, another’s death, I stake my whole eternity.
Not on the tears which I have shed, Not on the sorrows I have known,
Another’s tears, another’s griefs, On these I rest, on these alone.
Lord, I believe; O deal with me, As one who has Thy Word believed!
I take the gift, Lord; Look on me, As one who has Thy gift received.
"The Blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from all sin" 1 John 1:7b.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) visiting will be Thursday, January 12th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will be Friday, January 13th at 11am at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 77 Hildegard, with Rev. Dr. Martin Kreplin officiating.
