Mary Mildred Vallis
Mary Mildred Vallis, of the Kiwanis Nursing Home, passed away at her residence on May 12, 2002. Mary was born in New Jerusalem NB on September 16, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Timothy LeBaron and Margaret Hettie (Easton) Short and the beloved wife of the late Caswell Vallis who passed away in 1963.
Mary is survived by her brother, Albert Short of New Glasgow, NS, 2 sisters: Ruth Selfridge of Columbus, Ohio and Olive Andrews of Grand Bay, 3 grandchildren David, Margaret, Edward Jr., 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
Mary was predeceased by her step-son Edward, 4 sisters; Winnifred, Grace, Ida, Inez, and by 2 brothers; Eldon, Ira, .
Mary was a Red Cross volunteer during WWII, and a retired Nurse.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday 7-9.
The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at 10:00 am.
A Graveside service will be held at Brown's Flat United Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Dale W. Evans
1948-2011
Evans, Dale: Dale Walter Evans, 63, of Middlesex, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday December 17, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Petitcodiac he was a son of the late Donna (Ogilvie) Foster. Dale was a retired employee of Unisource Canada Ltd., Moncton and enjoyed playing pool, golfing, hunting and his ATV. He was a former member of Branch 31, Royal Canadian Legion.
Survived by his beloved wife of 37 years Joan (Hall), his daughter Charlene MacLeod (Michael) and their children Madeleine and Michelle of Fredericton, son David (Jessica) and their daughter Kinsella of Waverely, N.S.; brothers Robert Evans (Karen) of Moncton, Bruce MacNaughton (Shirley) of P.E., his aunt, Lana Douglas of Moncton, brothers and sisters in law. Predeceased by his mother Donna and brother Rae.
The family will receive guests at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Tuesday December 20 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Keith Adams officiating.
If desired memorials to the Rheumatoid Arthritis society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
Isabella Robinson
Mrs. Isabella Robinson, of 119 Church Ave., Sussex, New Brunswick passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on September 20, 2002. Mrs. Robinson was born in Belleisle, New Brunswick on February 13, 1902. She was the daughter of the late W. Herbert and Effa Idella (Vail) Kirk of Belleisle, New Brunswick and Boston, Mass and wife of the late J.F. Eldon Robinson a widely known Sussex businessman and supporter of Community Development who passed away in 1954.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara, son-in-law, Harold R. Young of Sussex, and several nieces and nephews. A brother William H. Kirk of Cape Cod and Florida predeceased her.
Mrs. Robinson trained as a nurse at the Montreal General Hospital. She was a cousin of the late Dr. Duncan H. McAlister, a leading Physician and Surgeon in Sussex, and member of the Federal Parliament, many years ago. She was long interested in community health matters and had been a continuing member of the Auxiliaries of the Frances Sproule Hospital, the first such in Sussex; the succeeding Kings County Memorial Hospital and the present-day Health Centre. In 1995 Mrs. Robinson was presented with the Senator Clarence and Frances Emerson Life Membership Award by the New Brunswick Auxiliary Hospital Association in recognition of her many years of voluntary service to the various Sussex hospitals.
Mrs. Robinson also found much pleasure in playing badminton and golf and in caring for her outstanding flower and shrub gardens. She was a charter member of the Sussex Red Cross and the I.O.D.E.; a life member of the Kings County Historical and Archival Society. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church and for many years was a key worker in its United Church Women's Organization.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). The family will be receiving relatives and friends at her home, 119 Church Avenue, Sussex on Sunday 2-4, 7-9.
The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Monday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Dallimore officiating. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
George Hugh Corey
Mr. George Hugh Corey of 80 Peter Street Sussex, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on July 6, 2003 at the age of 62.
Born in Moncton, NB on April 18, 1941, George was the son of the late Tupper and Marjorie (Beach) Corey.
George is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, two brothers Oscar and his wife Edith of Moncton and Russell and his wife Lillian of Labrador His sister-in-law Glenna Hamilton of Moncton 6 nieces and nephews Cheryl, Sheri, Michael, Sheldon, Shayne, and Gerry
His companions Snoopy and Marty
George was predeceased by his brother Gerald in 1960
George was a retired orderly and worked at the Moncton Hospital, Millcove Nursing Home, Kenneth Spencer Nursing Home and the Saint John General Hospital

Edward Prosser
1937-2017
Surrounded by his family, Edward Gordon Prosser, 79, passed away peacefully on Feb 5, 2017 at Moncton City Hospital.
For 56 years Eddie was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Hicks) Prosser, the father of three loving and well loved children in Joanne (Jeff) Conrad, Steven (Wanda) Prosser, and Dawn (Greg) Geldart, and grandfather to four cherished grandchildren Alex, Katie, Russ, and Matt. Born and raised in Petitcodiac, he was predeceased by his parents Ron and Irene Prosser, and sister Marion (late Herb) Hicks and brother Robert (late Doreen) Prosser.
He is survived by siblings Mabel (Art) Smith, Sandra (Austin) Young, Dian Goddard, and Gerald (Debbie) Prosser.
Eddie loved to travel and see the country, and spent his career of many years behind the wheel of a transport truck, both in Canada and the US. He extended his love of travel into his personal life where he was an avid camper for many years, making many memories from summer weekends at Pine Cone campground to winters spent in Florida and a cross Canada family adventure. He was a long serving member of the Citation Indians trailer club. Eddie never traveled far without one of his beloved dogs at his side, particularly Sam and Quincy who were the pride of his retirement years.
Eddie was well known in Petitcodiac where he was a member of the Baptist Church, and spent many an hour with his friends at the local coffee shop where he was known for giving as good as he got. He loved nothing more than a good community breakfast or dinner, and could be found many a weekend enjoying the company of friends and community.
The family wants to offer thanks to the excellent caregivers that supported Eddie in his last days, the team from Vitalaire, the staff at Extra Mural, and the palliative care team at the Moncton Hospital.
A special thank you to Dr. Nayak who has been a wonderful support, Doctor, and friend to Eddie not just in his last days, but over the past 40 years.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Wednesday, February 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. and from where the service will be held in the chapel Thursday, February 9 at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Woodworth officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
Family flowers only by request, donations in Eddie’s Memory may be made to Extra Mural Team, Driscoll Unit or a charity of donor's choice.
Nellie Brown
1929-2012
Nellie Olivia Iona Brown, 83, of Kinnear Settlement, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Dorchester Cape, she was a daughter of the late Alton and Burma (Buck) Read. Nellie was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother. She attended the former St. Paul's Anglican Church and was an ACW member. She was also a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Havelock Legion Branch #86.
Nellie is survived and sadly missed by her children Bonnie Rae Macaulay (Wayne) of River Glade, Burma Limoges (Mike) of Moncton, Margaret Mann (Gordie) of Kinnear Settlement, Joan Adair (Brian) of Moncton, John (Darlene) of Petitcodiac, Iona McCully (Mike) of Petitcodiac and Michael (Connie) of Boundary Creek; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Johnson and Edith Colp (Gary) both of Dorchester and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Thomas (1969); sisters Eileen and Madeline and brothers Laurie, Ainsley, Lester and Alton Jr.
Family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, November 10 from 2-4 p.m. only at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800). There is no funeral by request. A family graveside service will be held at Fairhaven Cemetery with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating.
If desired, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Cancer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
Josephine Hall
1922-2017
Josephine Amanda Hall, 94, of Upper Coverdale passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home.
Born in Gowland Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mercy (Bannister) Knowlan. Josephine was a member of the Five Points Baptist Church and she loved gardening, quilting and knitting.
She is survived and missed by her daughter Sarah J. Boyce (Chet) of Massachusetts and son Morris Tingley (April) of Curryville; grandchildren Michael, Earlene, Stacey, Shawn and Dawn; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Josephine was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Predeceased by her husband William Hall; sisters Irene Ayles, Mildred Mills, Catherine Tingley and Shirley Knowlan, and brothers Russell, Merle and Morris.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) visiting will be Sunday, March 5 from 1 to 4 pm and from where the service will be held in the chapel Monday, March 6 at 11 am with Rev. Bill Parks officiating. Interment at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
