Jean E. Gourley
1926-2012
Jean E. Gourley, 85, of River Glade passed away peacefully Tuesday November 20, 2012 at the Kenneth E. Spencer Home, Moncton.
Born in Salisbury she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Blakney) Campbell. She was a devoted wife, mother, nanny, homemaker, storekeeper and mother to all the village kids. Jean attended the former Saint Peter's Anglican Church in River Glade and the A.C.W. and was a past member of Branch 31, Royal Canadian Legion, Salisbury.
Survived and sadly missed by her husband Ernest (Poeg); children Maryann Godsoe, Debbie Lewis (Allison), Gwen Godsoe (Brian), Elaine Hobson (Clive), Michael (Doreen); 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived also by sisters Grace Grills, Veta Westcott (Gene) and Joyce Prosser; brothers John Campbell (Kay) and Jerry Campbell (Diane). Predeceased by a daughter Patricia (Patty) Morton-Gourley; sisters Marguerite Alward, Geraldine Cormier, Evelyn Smith and Madeline Crandall and a brother Robert Campbell.
The Funeral will be held at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) Friday November 23 at 3 pm with Rev. Chris Hayes. No visiting by request. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery, Moncton at a later date.

Milton Milledge Gregg
Mr. Milton Milledge Gregg of Newtown, passed away at his residence on May 18, 2003 at the age of 62. Born in Lewistown, NB on October 12, 1940, he was the son of the late Harley and Catherine (Almon) Gregg.
Milton was dearly loved and will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all his family and friends.
Milton is survived by 6 children Vernon, Darrell and his wife Susan, Rhonda and Dawn Gregg all of Hamilton, Ont. Tina Monahan and her husband Allen of Cassidy Lake, Dereck (Digger) and his girlfriend Missy Snyder of Roachville, 7 brothers; Lloyd and his wife Dorothy of Montreal, Arthur and his wife Linda of Jordan Mountain, Arnold and his wife Marlene of White's Mountain, Myles and Kathy of Hamilton, Ont., Sterling and his wife Cindy of Plumweseep, Doug of Toronto, Arden of NewLine, 7 sisters; Elsie Dyer and her husband Jim of Smith Creek, Shirley Patterson and her husband Alan of Penobsquis, Mabel Wortman of Sussex, Freda Smith and her husband Harvey of Penobsquis, Lois Beach and her husband Leland of Cody's, Pauline Bradbury of Sussex, Phyllis Lewis and her husband Fred of Woodstock, 6 grandchildren, Brian, Carolyn, Jolee, Sarah, Brandon, Shauna, and Milton’s friend Wendy Young of Sussex, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Milton was predeceased by his daughter Sherry, 3 brothers; Melbourn, Medley and Harry, and by 2 sisters Georgia and Vivian
Milton moved across the country as a young man working in many different provinces. He returned to Newtown in the early 1970’s where he worked several jobs from forestry work to construction. He later came to work at the Potacan Mining Co in Cassidy Lake where he worked until he retired in 1996.
Milton enjoyed the outdoors. He like hunting, fishing and driving his four wheeler and snowmobile for a pastime. Milton had a camp at Mechanic Lake where he enjoyed spending time around the campfire and socializing with his neighbours.
Milton retired from Diamond Construction and was a former employee of Potocan Canada.
Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 .
Funeral Service is from St. Paul's United Church on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 1:00 pm. Interment at Gosline Cemetery.
Gordon T. Close
1913-2012
Gordon Thomas Close, a lifelong resident of Salisbury passed away Saturday November 17, 2012 at home in his ninety- ninth year.
Born at the Scott Road he was a son of the late John W. and Gertrude (Lounsbury) Close. In his early working years he was a mechanic at Ern Bannister's Garage and he retired from N.B. Power. He was a founding member and awarded a lifetime membership at the Petitcodiac Valley Golf and Country Club where he played his last round in September of this year. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
Survived and sadly missed by his sons John (Jack) and Gordon Jr. (Alan) and his wife (MayMay) of Salisbury, his daughter in law Rebecca Close of Moncton; cherished grandchildren Craig, Carmen Benaquista, Chantal Steel, Cory, Carol Jensen, Jennifer Close, Kara Close, Gregory and 13 great grandchildren. Survived also by a sister Estella Douthwright; brothers Allison (Clara) and Roy and by several nieces and nephews, in laws Bella Spence (late Clarence), Eileen Maxwell (Jim) and Dorothy Stiles (Earle). He was predeceased by his beloved wife Reta (2006); a son Gregory; sisters Annie Gamblin and Ruth Armstrong and brothers Wilfred and Stanley.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home with visiting Wednesday November 21 from 1:30 p.m. until time of the funeral at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Tim MacKinnon officiating. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury.

Russell Douthwright
1925-2012
Russell Orland Douthwright, 87, of Colpitts Settlement passed away Wednesday December 5, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Little River, he was a son of the late Herbert and Lavilla Douthwright. Russell was a carpenter and handyman throughout his life working for Hoppers, Colpitts Woodsworkers and was also self employed. He enjoyed gardening and taught himself to play the accordion and fiddle.
Survived and sadly missed by his children Marilyn Sproul (Jim) of Ethel On., Kathy Steeves (Armour), Donald (Susan), James (Denise) of Colpitts Settlement, Terry (Sharon) of Springhill N.S., Joan Trites (Keith) of Steeves Mountain; cherished grandchildren Mikaleen, Chrystina, Adam, Nicholas, Wesley, Sarah, Emily, Megan, Travis, Tyler, Katelyn, Matthew and great grandchildren Jordan, Morgan, Leland, Chace and Eric. Survived also by a sister Doris Geldart of Riverview and by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Vera, brother Melbourne and the mother of his children Shirley Douthwright.
Arrangements are in the care of the Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800) and at Russell's request there will be no funeral. A private family graveside service will be held at the Middlesex Cemetery with Rev. Keith Adams officiating.

Mary Elizabeth Jenkins

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jenkins, of Codys, NB passed away at Bellisle Creek Manor on August 25, 2001Born in Saint John, NB on November 22, 1914, She was the daughter of the late John and Emma Farnsworth (Saunders).
Mary was the beloved wife of the Late Donald Jenkins who passed away in 1973. She is survived by her daughter, Grace Morgan of St. Catherines, Ont. 2 sons, Gordon and his wife Flora of Cambridge Narrows and David and his wife Artice of Fredericton Her brother George Saunders of Saint John. 2 sisters, Marion Burns and June Saunders both of Saint John 9 Grandchildren, 14 great grand children, nieces and nephews
Mary was predeceased by 3 brothers Howard, Edward, and John and by 2 sisters Dorothy and Helen
She was a member of the Cody United Baptist Church and the Gloria Dae Singers
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday 7-9 Sunday 2-4, 7-9.
Funeral Service will be held from Cody's United Baptist on Monday, August 27, 2001 at 2 :00 pm, with Rev. Sig Seidel officiating. Interment at Coles Island Cemetery

Eugene (Gene) Brown
1925-2012
Eugene (Gene) Marshall Brown, 87, of Kenneth E. Spencer Home, Moncton and formerly Grande-Digue and Petitcodiac, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
Born in Wheaton Settlement, he was the son of the late Theodore and Bessie (Carson) Brown. Gene retired after 37 years with Canada Cement Lafarge as maintenance supervisor and was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and had recently attended the Shediac Bay Community Church. He was a former trustee of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and chairman of the building committee and was also past president of both the Petitcodiac Kiwanis Club and the Petitcodiac Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed bowling and woodworking, especially making furniture for his family and was an avid Moncton Wildcats fan.
Survived and sadly missed by his children Douglas (Joanne) of Forest Glen, Diana Flanagan (Carl) of Moncton and Michael (Sharon) of Petitcodiac; cherished and beloved grandchildren Jason and Victoria, Shane and Katlyn and Saige and Caleb; close friend Edie Fawcett; sister-in-law Betty (Coates) Innes and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Mona (Coates) (2004) and sisters Muriel Wilson and Marjorie Wilson.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday, November 9, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m. at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Robert MacDonald officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery.

Lawrence (Laurie) Dobson
1931-2012
DOBSON, LAWRENCE - With great sadness we wish to announce the sudden passing of Lawrence Edward Dobson (Laurie), 80, of Petitcodiac, New Brunswick at the Moncton Hospital Sunday, February 26, 2012.
Born March 27, 1931 in Toronto, Ontario, Laurie called Petitcodiac home for the past 22 years. Laurie enjoyed a fun and fulfilling family life in Toronto and visited New Brunswick regularly before retiring there. He served nine years with the Lorne Scots Regiment Reserves in Canada, spent time working on the railroad for CN and eventually retired from Lawson Flexible Packaging after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, the Petitcodiac Senior's, enjoyed volunteering and bowled on several bowling leagues. Laurie was fun loving and social and beyond his love for his wife's cooking, he enjoyed reading, country music, fishing and travel. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who he always made time for.
Laurie's memory will carry on through his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruth Elizabeth (Colpitts); daughter Wanda MacDonald, grandchildren Louie (Tammy) Manzo, Micki-Lee Baptista and Misty-Lee (Bradley) Strickland all of Ontario. Lawrence was a very special "Great Grampie" to Madelin, Macy and Miller Manzo, Alexus & Logan Strickland and to the late and missed Alexander Carl Vizi (Baby A) all of Ontario. He will be missed by family everywhere, including beloved sister in law Eleanor McFee of Petitiicodiac, cousins Bev & Lillian Harden of Ontario, nieces & nephews Brenda, Bernard & Courtney Plume, Kimberly & Glen Marr and Crystal & Bradley Hunt, all of New Brunswick.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Wednesday, February 29, 7 - 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Thursday, March 1 at 2 pm with Rev. David Woodworth and Rev. Rick Thomas officiating.
