Eleanor McNeil
1943-2013
Eleanor Marie McNeil, 69, of Dobson Corner passed away suddenly Sunday June 30 2013.
Born in Dobson Corner she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Greta (Geldart) Hoar. Eleanor was a Home Care Worker with the Jordan Lifecare Center and was an active member of First North River Baptist Church where she helped lead the ladies small group bible study. She enjoyed the outdoors especially when gardening, walking, fishing and camping but was most happy when hosting family and her precious grandchildren.
Survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Thomas; children Arlene Wesselius (Albert) of Intervale, Stephen (Rhonda) of Riverview, Todd (Melissa) of Salisbury; grandchildren Ryan, Laura, Kyle, Breanne, Jaylin, Shyanne and Tarik. Survived also by a sister Jennie Sleeper of Lewis Mountain; brother Frank Hoar (Kay) of Dobson Corner; sister in law Margaret Hoar of Boundary Creek; mother in law Helen McNeil of Sydney; sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brothers Robert, Hughie and Allison Hoar.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday 6-9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be Friday, July 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Drew Mersereau officiating. Interment at the Lewis Mountain Cemetery.
If desired, memorials to the First North River Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
Ross Taylor
1954-2013
Ross Lovell Taylor, 58, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, June 24, 2013 surrounded by family and friends in his final days.
Born in Moncton, October 7, 1954, he was the son of Elinor (Jones) Taylor and the late Floyd Taylor. He was a graduate of J.M.A. Armstrong High School. Ross' passion in life was his gift of carpentry, being at his happiest with a hammer in his hand. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, playing and coaching sports and especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Ross loved the simple things in life and although his life was cut too short, to him, his life was rich. He touched the lives of many.
Survived by his loving and faithful wife Darlene (Gallant); son Nicholas (fiancé Meghan Phillips) of Edmonton, AB; daughters Haley Doucet (Remi) of Nigadoo and Whitney Graham (Bruce) of Moncton; cherished grandchildren Brooke-Lynn, Colson, Aidan, Evalyn, Harper, Nahla, London and Dominik; sisters Barbara Hicks (Roger) of ON and Carol Babkirk of Salisbury; brothers Bryan (Jeannie) of Berry Mills, Michael (Jennifer) of Wheaton Sett., Grant (Leta) of Moncton, Kevin (Kathy) of ON, Chris (Toby) of Salisbury and Kirk of Salisbury, and several nieces and nephews. Special mention to "brother from another mother", Danny Jones (Susan). Predeceased by his father Floyd.

Patricia Lemon
1930-2013
Patricia Mary Lemon, 83, of Upper Coverdale, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Gertrude (Levine) Guitard. She was a Home Care Worker and Nanny. Patricia was a very social person and friends were important to her. She liked baking for her friends and neighbours, playing bingo and spending time with her bingo friends. She also enjoyed keeping bird feeders filled and seeing all the different birds that would visit. Patricia leaves a legacy of love with the many children she babysat and cared for over the years.
She is survived and missed by her long time partner Raymond Irving of Jordan Life Care Centre; son Neil David Lemon of Fredericton; several siblings including sister Annette Estey and brother Joe Guitard.
The funeral will be held from Salisbury Funeral Home & Crematorium, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) Friday, June 21 at 2 p.m.
If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Jordan Life Care Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated.
Laura Russell
1925-2013
Laura Bernice Russell, 88, of Grass Home, Riverview and formerly of Five Points, passed away peacefully Monday, June 17, 2013 at her residence.
Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise (Carson) Geldart. Laura was a homemaker, a member of Five Points Baptist Church and former member of WMS, Monday Morning Merry Makers and Salisbury Golden Age Club. She enjoyed seniors bowling, knitting and baking and cooking for her family.
She is survived and sadly missed by her daughters Betty Walker (Paul) of Moncton, Barbara Price (Donald) of Palm Harbour, FL; grandchildren Susan Bishop (Greg) and Stephen Price (Naomi); great grandchildren Ben, Hannah, Jacob, Monica and Abigail; extended family Dan and Veronica Walker; sister Rosie Burgess (Vincent) of Lewis Mountain and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband James; infant daughter; sisters Ruby Proctor, Olive McFarlane and Emma Hopper and brothers Clarence, Frank and Lloyd Geldart.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Thursday, June 20 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tim McKinnon officiating. Interment at Five Points Cemetery.

Lawrence Russell
1942-2013
Lawrence Wallace Russell, 71, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Born in Upper Coverdale he was the son of the late Lewis and Hazel (Ayles) Russell. Lawrence was a heavy equipment operator and he loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and watching the Toronto Blue Jays.
He is survived by sisters Nora Cooper of Toronto, ON and Linda Russell of Goodwood, ON; brother Allen (Anne) of Fredericton; uncles Lloyd, Stanley and Les Russell of Salisbury; good family friend Dorothy Morrisey of Salisbury and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) Wednesday, June 12 at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. Intermentat Five Points Cemetery.
Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
Vaughn Colpitts
1935-2013
Vaughn Elton (Bunk) Colpitts, P.Eng., 77, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital with family at his side.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Alden and Katherine (Mollins) Colpitts. Vaughn graduated from Salisbury Regional High School then UNB with a B.Sc. in civil engineering. He worked for CNR, and retired as Senior Engineer of Bridges and Structures for Eastern Canada. He was passionate about his profession, continued to do consulting for Crandall Engineering and Canac International Inc. and private local projects. He enjoyed Florida winters and Cape Tormentine summers. He also enjoyed and loved all sports, played golf, hockey and badminton in early adulthood.
He is survived and missed by his beloved wife of fifty-four years Marie (Mesheau); children Lori (Bob), Rhonda (Kent) and Barry (Marlene); grandchildren Timmy (Sonya), Kirk (Rachel), Sara, Derrick, Michael, Kelli, Tommy and Robbie; great grandchildren Logan, Kenzie and Rowyn; sisters Connie Fawcett (Vernon), Myrna Lewis (Arnold), Marilyn Colpitts (George Lutes), Brenda Lee Colpitts and Ruth Colpitts (Fred Wheaton); sister-in-law Shirley Colpitts and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by daughter Marlene and brother Ronald.
There will be a private family graveside service at Fairhaven Cemetery. Dad will be laid to rest beside his daughter, Mom said it was "ok to go, there is a little girl in heaven waiting for him." Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800).

Irene Jessie Friars
Irene Jessie Friars of Winter Street, Sussex, passed away at her residence on May 17, 2002. Born in Millbrook, NB on August 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie (Orr) Proctor.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Frank B. Friars who passed away in 1990 and is survived by her daughters, Linda Chappell and her husband Arnold of Charlottetown, Pat Watters and her husband Jim of Sussex, her step-daughter Glenn Wallace and her husband Mac of Saint John, her sisters Jennie Buchanan and Dorothy Doncaster both of Sussex Corner, 7 grandchildren, Michelle, Dan, Jim, Jennifer, Cindy, Melanie and Michael, 8 great grandchildren Hannah, Keegan, Deghlan, Jamie, Jessie, Nicolas, Dylan and Cassandra, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters Alice and Effie, 5 brothers William, Joe, Bert, Arthur and Herb.
Irene told of many happy times with her nine brothers & sisters at home & the get-togethers at neighbouring farms. Moving to Sussex as a young woman, Irene made many friendships, worked for Bradley’s Jewellery store & developed a great love of jewellery.
In 1944 she married Frank Friars & became a full-time mother. Over the years Irene enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, travelling & her cottage at Point du Chene. When the Sussex Curling Club was established Irene became an active member, waiting enthusiastically for the seasons to begin.
With her family she played many games but her passion was 45’s, wherever there was a card party she was game to go...she loved to socialize.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday 2-4, 7-9.
The Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Monday, May 20, 2002 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. David Barrett officiating. Interment at Trinity Cemetery.
