Charles Elmer Ryder
1936-2013

Charles Elmer (Charlie) Ryder, 76, of Havelock passed away Thursday, December 26 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Salem, he was a son of the late Elmer and Phyllis (Verrill) Ryder. Together with his wife Margaret they opened Charlie's General Store (1963) in Havelock which they proudly operated for forty years. Charlie spent many hours on the history of Havelock and its residents and he enjoyed travelling with his wife.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of fifty-two years Margaret (Perkins); children Peter (Trina) of Salem Road, Barry (Brenda) of Killams Mills and Penny Ryder of Havelock; cherished grandchildren Sadi, Marlee, Philip and Tony; sister Helen Irwin (late Walter) of Chelmsford, MA; brother-in-law Lyle Hicks and sister-in-law Darlene Ryder both of Havelock; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Predeceased by son Philip, brother Esson and sister Patricia Hicks.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Sunday, December 29 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Monday, December 30 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jarvis Lepper officiating. Interment at Trinity United Church Cemetery, Havelock at a later date.
If desired, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Florence Muriel Pollock

Florence Muriel Pollock, of Sussex, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on July 9, 2002. born in Youngs Cove Road, NB on April 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary (Flower) McNamara, she was the wife of the late Ronald Albert Pollock who passed away in 2001.
Florence is survived by her 2 Daughters, Barbara Richard and her husband Tony of Saint John; Joanne Sands and her special friend Randy Smith of Calgary, Alberta, her son, Noble Pollock of Newtown, NB, 2 brothers, William and his wife Maude McNamara of Fredericton, NB; John and his wife Barb McNamara of Hampton, NB, 2 sisters, Lucille Jones and her husband Dan of Toronto, Ont; Mary Lewis and her husband Neil of Moncton, her brother-in-law, Holly Reece and his wife Bea of Youngs Cove Road, 6 Grandchildren, Adam and Jason Pollock, Marylee Fry, Caressa and Deanna Knox and Dana Sands, 6 Great grandchildren, Joshua, Patrick, Samuel, Zachery, Whitney, Harley, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Florence was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy, her brother James McNamara and his wife Anne.
Florence took her training for nursing in Cornwall, Ontario. She was employed for many years on the Nursing Staff of the former Kings County Memorial Hospital and later the Sussex Health Centre. She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church and a long time member of the Choir. Florence was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20, the Shuffleboard league and the Tuesday Morning Senior Citizens, the Knightville Mama Bears, the Wednesday Crokinole players and the Sussex and area cancer survivors.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday 2-4, 7-9. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute Thursday at 6:45 p.m., The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Hubert Bartlett officiating. Commital Service will be held at Youngs Cove United Church Cemetery at 1:30 pm.

Walter Joseph Steeves

Walter Joseph Steeves of Brookview Trailer Park, Sussex Corner, NB, passed away at his residence on Tuesday June 3, 2003 at the age of 84. Born in Elgin, Albert County, NB on April 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Walter David Steeves and Nina Vivian (Graves).
He is survived by his beloved wife Alma Lillian (Martin) Steeves, his daughter, Mary Doherty and her husband Dave of Mount Middleton, NB, 2 sisters, Shirley Ritchie of Riverview, Norma Collier and her husband Gerald of Boston, his uncle, Evans Steeves of Elgin, 3 grandchildren: Daniel, Dennis and Becky, 3 great grandchildren: Matthew, Abby and Emily, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walter was predeceased by 2 sons, Gary and Ronnie and 2 sisters, Velma and Loison.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex.

Wayne MacLeod
1946-2014

Wayne Alton MacLeod, 67, of Dieppe, and formerly Second North River passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Harewood, he was a son of the late Charles and Daisy (Lewis) MacLeod. Wayne was a retired Supervisor at Canada Bread with forty five years of service. He was a member of the Air Force Veterans Club, Dart Club and the Havelock Sportsman Club. He enjoyed four wheeling, hunting, time spent at the camp, but most of all being with his girls.
He is survived and missed by his loving companion Gisele Girouard; twin daughters Amanda MacLeod of Monteagle and Meagan MacLeod of Fort McMurray, AB; mother of his girls Lynda MacLeod of Monteagle; sisters Donna MacLeod of Salisbury West and Marilyn Pollock (Dan) of Petitcodiac; brother Lee MacLeod (Christine) of Havelock; special friends Shirley Fontaine (Bernie) and Jeanine LeBlanc (Larry) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by sister Phyllis Steeves and brothers Norman, Garnett and Lewis.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Tuesday, February 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. and from where the funeral will be Wednesday, February 12 at 11 am with Pastor Dave McPherson officiating.
If desired, donations to the Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Delbert McLean
1946-2016

Delbert Sherwood McLean, 70, of Kinnear Settlement passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Kinnear Settlement, he was the son of the late Robert and Jessie (Colpitts) McLean. He was a retired school bus drive with the former School District 2 and former owner/operator of D. McLean Sales & Service, taking great pride in serving his customers. Delbert loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors, and having a few grins and chuckles.
He is survived and sadly missed by his children Jessica Melvin (Adam), Anagance, Nick (Samantha), Edmonton, AB, Abby Rogers (Darrell), Petitcodiac, Matthew Grant, Elk Point, AB, Chris Carter, Moncton; grandchildren Brooklyn, Denver, Cohen, Zoe, Brinley, Brandon, Mason, Chase and Dawson; brothers Lesley and Chesley Colpitts, Grimsby, ON and chosen brother Philip Thorne, Glenvale; sister Margaret Masters, Brandon, MB and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Resting at Armstrong's Funeral Chapel, 33 Russell Street (756-3361) with visiting Saturday, November 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) Sunday, November 6 at 3:30 pm with Pastor Mackenzie Hiltz officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery.
If desired, memorials to the NB Lung Association or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Richard Henwood
1946-2014

Richard John Henwood, 68, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital with his family at his side.
Born in Islington, England, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Lily Rose (Houseman) Henwood. Richard retired from Canada Post as a mail handler after thirty-three years of service and enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.
Survived and sadly missed by his beloved wife of forty-three years Carol (Capson); children Susan Henwood of BC, Crystal Wolfe (Dale) of Riverview, and Kelly (Julie) of Salisbury; cherished grandchildren Tanner, Connor, Alyson, Madison, Cole and Lily; brothers Michael (Ruth), Mark, Merrill (Marjorie) and Lee; sisters Starr Holmden and Lynn Thebeau; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brothers Russell and Darrell.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Saturday, November 15 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac.
If desired, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Teresa Cook
1946-2015

Teresa Marie Cook, 68, formerly of Havelock and Saint John, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Drew Nursing Home.
Born in St. Stephen, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Dickinson) Thurlow. Teresa was a former florist with Peacocks in Saint John. She attended the Havelock Wesleyan Church, was a member of the Havelock W. I., the Memorial Hall Committee, a volunteer at Havelock School and the Boy's and Girl's Club. She was also a former volunteer with the Saint John Ambulance (Simons Division).
She is survived and sadly missed by her daughters Norma Hutchinson (David) and Sherri Cook-Carson (Dennis) both of Havelock; grandchildren Nicole Stright (Michael), Zachary Hutchinson (Chelsey), Chance and Crystal Carson; great grandchildren Liyla and Leah Hutchinson and Sawyer Stright; brothers Austin Thurlow (Colleen), Malcolm Thurlow (Sharon) and Joey Thompson (Amy); sister-in-law Brenda Thurlow-Hunter (Lloyd) and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother John Thurlow.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Sunday, February 8 from 6-9 pm and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Monday, February 9 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating. Interment at Salem Community Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
