Eliza Pauline Graves SAINT JOHN, NB - Eliza Pauline Graves of Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, formerly of Goshen passed away at her residence on Friday, September 1, 2006 at the age of 89. Born in Goshen, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Annie (Geldart) Graves. Eliza was a member of the Elgin Baptist, the Christian Missionary Alliance, as well the senior citizens of Charlton Place. She is survived by two nieces, Betty Stiles (Clarence) of Elgin and Shirley DeMille of Shediac; two nephews, William Graves (Debbie) of Slave Lake, Alberta and Ronald DeMille (Louise) of Goshen; as well several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice DeMille; and two brothers, Clinton and George Graves. Visiting hours will be held from Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street Petitcodiac on Sunday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held from the Goshen Baptist Church on Monday, September 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. James Hammond officiating. Margaret (Peggy) A. Horne 1928 ~ 2006 Margaret (Peggy) A. Horne, of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home Moncton, died peacefully at her residence on Wednesday August 30, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Baisley) Livingston. Peggy's kindness, generosity and devotion to her family and friends will be missed and her memory treasured by her daughters Tammy Horne, Edmonton, AB; Cindy Chambers (Peter), Moncton; Son Barry Horne, Moncton; Granddaughters Tara and Katie McNulty, Moncton: Grandson Johnny Chambers, Moncton; sister-in-law Kathleen Rafferty (Phillip), Moncton. Several nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her husband William Horne (January 2006). There will be no public visitation or funeral service. HANEY, MARY JOANNE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Joanne Haney of Fredericton, NB. Joanne passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joanne was born in Saint John, NB on June 21, 1942. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Lillian (Pitt) Haney and Harold James Haney. She is survived by her brother, Murray and special dog, Kobe; cousins, Peter and Paula Coleman; Conrad and Pam Haney of Saint John, as well as several other relatives. Joanne, a retired civil servant for the Province of New Brunswick, was a devoted daughter and sister. For all her friends, both old and new, she was loyal and true. She also held a very special place in her heart for the care and compassion of Dr. Tom Peters and Dr. Heather Logan, who journeyed with her throughout her illness. Joanne's honesty and sense of humour brightened our days. Throughout her battle with cancer, she embodied strength, dignity and absolute faith that when her earthly flight was over, she would find peace and eternal happiness in the comfort of Our Lord. Joanne's family and friends would like to thank the staff of the Oncology departments at the DECH and Saint John Regional Hospital; the Extra Mural nurses and Red Cross homemakers who enabled Joanne to fulfill her wish to spend her last days with us at home. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. We invite you to a celebration of Joanne's life at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 12 pm with Father Gerald M. White as celebrant. DOMET, MARTHA JOAN (NEE STEPHEN), R.N. With sadness at our loss but joy and thanksgiving for a wonderful life, we announce the passing of our dear mother. Martha died peacefully at her home of 61 years on Monday, October 16th. , in Fredericton, Martha turned 91 on August 15. A 1940 "St. Mike's" grad; from hospital to private duty to psychiatric care, Martha retired as Director of Nursing at White Eagle Nursing Home in Parkdale. Beloved wife of the late Norman and predeceased by her son, Raymond and his son, Christopher, and dearly loved mother of Alfreda Zaher (Samir) Wade and David and daughter-in-law Carmie. She was the loving and ever-generous Sitto (grandmother) of Stephanie (Kevan), Jeffrey (Michelle) Donna Domet and Emelia Bozzo-Domet; Christina Zaher and Jeanette Barrett (Alex), Michael Domet and Nicholas Adam Domet. She will be missed by her great grandchildren Sofia, Veronica and Emily. Dear sister of Frances, 99 years young; and pre-deceased by Sarkis, Frank, Cesema, Catherine, Mary, John and Joseph. Mrs. Domet rested at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Avenue, Toronto. O'KANE, THOMAS EDWARD "ED" The death of Thomas Edward "Ed" O'Kane of Burton, NB occurred at home on Thursday, October 19th, 2006. Born in Chatham, NB on September 16th, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph James and Mary Ellen (Savoy) O'Kane. Ed served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 27 years and 18 years as a Public Service employee (CE) at CFB Gagetown. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Joan (Myles) O'Kane; three sons, Michael (Sonyia) of Oromocto, NB, Tim (Nicole) of Burton, Tom (Jessica Currie and daughter Kitara) of Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Cathy of Burton, and Kelly Rhindress (Brent) of Geary, 10 grandchildren, Cassandra, Steven, Robyn, Natasha, Zack, Sean, Kate, Olivia, Teddy and Solomon; three brothers, James of Bathurst, Joseph of Summerside, PEI and Bill of Miramichi; one sister, Patsy Cassidy of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, David of Miramichi. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Sunday, October 22nd, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. STEWART, WILLIAM A. - Bill passed away on October 18, 2006, in Thousand Oaks, California, after a long illness. He was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, on Feb. 18, 1926 and was the son of Mabel (Ramsay) and William Stewart. Bill graduated from Acadia University in Nova Scotia. He was a pioneer in the fledgling television industry beginning with CHSJ and had a long and exciting career in Canadian broadcasting, living in Toronto for many years until moving to California in 1991. He was an avid golfer, music lover, and devoted Cardinals baseball fan. He is survived by his beloved wife Elaine, his sister Marion, sisters-in-law Joan and Evie, nephews Bill and David, nieces Carol and Pat, great-nephews David (Allison) and Derek, great-niece Laura, and great-grand-nephews Carson and Luke. He will be missed not only by his family but also the many friends whose lives he touched. In keeping with his wishes, Bill's ashes will be returned to Canada. LUSSIER, RICHARD - Richard Lussier, 56, of Gould Beach Road in Shediac passed away on Friday October 20, 2006 at the Dr. Georges- L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton. Born in Magog, Québec, he was the son of the late Lionel Lussier and the late Lucille Labelle. An R.C.M.P. veteran, Richard was employed with W.H.S.C.C. as a Senior Investigator in Moncton. Richard will be greatly missed by his loving family, wife Ginette (Fortin) Lussier and their children: Marie-Lyne Lussier and Louis-Philippe Lussier (Lan Vong) all of Shediac; two sisters: Francine Lussier of Montréal, QC, Madeleine Lussier of Sherbrooke, QC; four brothers: Guy Lussier (Annette) of Shediac, Luc Lussier (Marie) of Québec, Jean-Louis Lussier (Claudette) of Magog, QC, Claude Lussier (Guylaine) of Dégelis, QC, and by several nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. O'CONNOR, MARY KATHLEEN 'KAY' - The death of Mary Kathleen 'Kay' O'Connor occurred peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, on October 20, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on March 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Frances (Dever) Holmes. She was a loving mother and best friend to her daughters and grandchildren, Terri, Mary and her husband, Brad, Kathy, Katie, Ryan, Daniel and Allison, all of Saint John. She was an employee of Irving Oil Ltd. and previous to that was a loving stay at home mother. Besides her daughters and grandchildren, she is survived by her brothers, Donald (Bonnie) Holmes, Alfred (Betty) Holmes and Peter (Debbie) Holmes, all of Saint John, along with several nieces and nephews.
