Margaret Steeves
February 10, 1922 - March 28, 2001
Mrs. Margaret M. Steeves of Sussex, N.B. passed away at Moncton Hospital, on March 28, 2001, born in Sussex, NB on February 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Bradley and Mary Elizabeth (McShane). She was the beloved wife of the late Murray Steeves who passed away in 1997.
Margaret is survived by her 3 daughters, Sondra Steeves of Sussex Corner, Andrea Richard and her husband Harvey of Riverview, Kathy Brinston and her husband Brad of Riverview, 2 sons, David and his wife Sandra of Sussex, Jimmy of Sussex Corner, her daughter in law Kathy Steeves of Southfield, her sister in law Olive Bradley of Sussex, 16 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
Margaret was predeceased by her brother Edward who passed away in 1986 and by her son Travis who passed away in 1994.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at 10:00 am, with Fr. Peter Bagley Officiating. Interment at Wards Creek Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations made to St. Francis Xavier RC Church Building Fund or to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
Kerri Allison
Kerri Elizabeth Allison, 3 ˝ year old daughter of Drew and Julie (Dills) Allison, died unexpectedly in Greenville, South Carolina on November 15, 2001, besides her parents, Kerri is survived by her grandparents, Kerry and Carole Allison, Sussex, NB and James and Genell Dills, Salem, S.C. A “Celebration of Kerri’s life” was held at Trinity Wesleyan Church on November 18th with burial at Stamp Creek Baptist Church in Salem, S.C.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be given to IWK or Gideon Bibles.
Reg Goddard
June 25, 1936 - July 26, 2002
Reg Goddard of Penobsquis, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre, on July 26, 2002. Born in Penobsquis, NB on June 25, 1936. Reg was the son of the late Russell and Rhoda Alice (Munro) Goddard. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Mallery) Goddard, his daughter Madelene Walton and her husband Richard of Penobsquis, his son Terry and his wife Lori of Penobsquis, 2 sisters; Darlene Hector and her husband Ivan of Oromocto, Fay Leslie and her husband Jim of Lawrencetown, NS, 2 brothers; Travis and his wife Donna of Sussex, Ensley and his wife Gwen of Youngs Cove, 4 grandchildren, Tanya, Dereck, Ryan, and Jennifer, a special son Steve Kingston of Penobsquis, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Reg was a Truck Driver most of his life and has driven for Canada Packers, Ryan’s Construction, Kearns Bakery, RST Transport Ltd. Flintco, and Springdale Sand and Gravel.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing his guitar, cards and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 who will hold a tribute on Sunday evening at 6:45pm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr. Sussex, (506) 433-1176 from where visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
The Funeral service will be held from Penobsquis United Baptist Church on Monday, July 29, 2002 at 2:00pm with Pastor Gordon Walker officiating. Anne Williams will provide the Musical Selections. The Interment will be in Cardwell Cemetery, Penobsquis.
There will be a time of fellowship with the family following the committal service in the Church Hall.
As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the NB. Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Helen Margarite Parlee
September 26, 1906 - July 9, 2002
Helen Margarite Parlee, of Dutch Valley, New Brunswick, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on July 9, 2002.
Born in Waterford, New Brunswick on September 26, 1906, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Jane (McShane) Carr, and the beloved wife of the late Edward Parlee who passed away in 1992.
Helen is survived by 5 Daughters, Margaret and husband Joseph Taylor of Sussex Corner; Phyllis and husband Bud Folkins of Sussex Corner; Joan and husband David Archibald of Dutch Valley; Mary Wright of Hamilton; Ruth Voutour of Sussex. 2 Sons, James and wife Helen Parlee of Sussex; Malcolm and wife Winnie Parlee of Apohaqui, 33 Grandchildren, 66 Great Grandchildren, 27 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Great Grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by 2 daughters, Eleanor and Constance, a son Elmer, 2 brothers, Malcolm and Ensley, 3 sisters, Mariam, Eva and Annie, and by 2 grandsons, Richard and David.
Helen was affectionately known as Mom, Gramma, Nannie, and Mrs. P. She had a heart as big as all outdoors. She was always happy and shared her smile and heart with all who knew her. She was devoted to her family and friends, always putting them ahead of herself. She enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and would often ask, How’s “wee” great grandchildren? With any invitation Nanny was always ready to go. She spoiled them to a fault, she would sew for them, play scramble, teach them to sew, and even provide jars for them to catch bumble bees. She even had gifts for all of them at Christmas. Among her hobbies were sewing, making quilts, playing scramble, crossword puzzles, writing letters, bingo and cooking. Helen was the happiest when she was cooking for lots of people. She was known for her baking, especially Strawberry Short Cake with “real” whipped cream, donuts and pies. Ed and Helen loved hockey, on Saturday night they watched Hockey Night in Canada even though they would be asleep before the end of the first period and on Sunday night Helen could be found at the 8th Hussars watching a game.
Before her retirement Helen was a cook at the Sussex Hospital and Snow’s Restaurants.
She was a member of St. Marks Anglican Church and the ACW.

The Funeral Service will be held from St. Marks Anglican Church on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 3:30 pm, with Rev. Allen Tapley officiating. Interment at Trinity Cemetery.
F. Paul Tamlyn
March 5, 1924 - July 3, 2002
F. Paul Tamlyn, of Sussex, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on July 3, 2002.
Born in Newtown, NB on March 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Frank Oldfield and Ella Jane (Tait) Tamlyn.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Mabel Eloise (Hughson) Tamlyn, his son Peter and his daughter in law Barbara McInerney-Tamlyn of NewLine as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul worked at the Millstream Creamery for a number of years prior to his retirement from the Province of New Brunswick Department of Agriculture. Paul was a member of Trinity Anglican Church. He was the past president of the Agricultural Museum of New Brunswick. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid hunter and fisher.

The funeral Service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 11:00 am, with Rev. David Barrett officiating. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
The Pallbearers are: Stephen Hughson, Allison Thorne, Daniel Tait, Rocky Perry, John Dysart and George Sharp.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Mike Cummings, Murray Tait, Wayne MacLeod, Bob Ness, Garfield Perry, Tom Anderson, Don MacVey, Sidney Kelso, Wayne Coates and Lawrence Cook.
Helen Grace Muir
Helen Grace Muir, of Gagetown, passed away at her residence the Gagetown Nursing Home on April 16, 2003. She was born in Springfield, NB on July 17, 1919, the daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn Bernice (Kierstead) Muir.
Helen is survived by her sisters, Elspth Crealock of Berwick, Jean Ness and her husband Ronald of Belleisle Creek, her brothers, George and his wife Pauline of Berwick, Mansel and his wife Yvonne of Belleisle Creek, Maurice and his wife Rose of New Haven, Connecticut, several nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her sister, Dorthiea and a brother Otty.
Helen received her education in Montreal and at UNB. She taught French at many different schools, in such areas of Quebec, Coles Island, Apohaqui, Kingston, Springfield. She was a member of the New Brunswick Teachers Association and the Collina United Baptist Church.
Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Helen’s request there will be no visitation. The Funeral Service is from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Allison MacLean. Interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.

Anna Jean Mason
Mrs. Anna Jean Mason, of Sussex Corner, N.B., passed away at Sussex Health Centre on April 3, 2003. Born in Sussex N.B. on January 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Percy E. and Ethel B. (Sears) Radcliffe and the beloved wife of the late Reginald M. Mason who passed away in 1996.
Anna is survived by her daughter Debbie Matthew of Sussex, her sister Myrna Ladouceur and her husband Pete of Victoria BC; 4 grandchildren, Eric of Moncton, Jason and his wife Jill of Berry Mills, Michael and his wife Wendy of Picadilly, Cheryl Matthews and Dan Beaudette of Winnipeg; 6 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyler, Jordan, Jasmin, Matthew and Braedan, several nieces and nephews.
Anna was a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother and had a hand in shaping all of our lives. She valued her place in both the Radcliffe and Mason families. She was always very organized and knew every member of the family’s birthday, wedding anniversary, death date and what new baby belongs to whom and never forgot to send a birthday card. Anna loved to reflect upon her life and tell stories. She had many stories and loved to talk about her youth during the war. She had loved attending dances where she always mentioned the men were a plenty, but only one man caught her interest and heart and that was Reg. Anna always spoke her mind and was a woman of great conviction who had a gift for communication, which was rarely subtle. Her home was always filled with things that she made or cooked herself. She was a woman who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She often talked about working at Barbour Foods and the many friendships she made there. After Reg passed away, Anna was lost for a time and missed him terribly but with time and the support of her family and friends she learned to embrace life again and looked for fun things to keep her busy such as traveling, line dancing, sewing, quilting, attending the meetings of the Pythian Sisters, Korean War Vets, the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as weekender and Tupperware parties. She especially enjoyed any opportunity to get dressed up and socialize. How she loved to dress up and wear flamboyant colors, jewelry, and shoes. Anna was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20, a member of the Pythian Sisters #22 Prince Edward Temple and a former member of the Princess Louise 8th Hussars Militia.

Gene Fisher officiating. Interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring.
