Margaret Louise Akerley
July 5, 1913 - March 19, 2001

Mrs. Margaret Louise Akerley, of Sussex, New Brunswick passed away at Sussex Health Centre on March 19, 2001.
Born in Crafts Cove, Queens Co. NB on May 7, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Marcus H. and Elmyra M (Mott) Mott.
She was the beloved wife of the late Percy F. Akerley who passed away in 1965.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Lois Urquhart and her husband Ross of Sussex, her son Gordon and his wife Mae of Fredericton, her sister Lydia Webster of Belyea' s Cove, 5 grandchildren; Dianne Urquhart of Saint John, Brian and his wife Linda of Sussex, Melissa Meadows and her husband Jarret of Fredericton, Scott and his wife Meganne of Grand Forks, BC, 3 Great Grandchildren; Cameron, Colin, Madison and Urquhart, Several nieces, nephews and cousins
Margaret was predeceased by a an infant brother, 2 brothers Theodore and Burton, and a sister Florence Lord
She was a 50 Member of Kiersteadville, WI and former member of Belyea Baptist Church
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wed. 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial chapel on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Greg Loosley officiating.
Interment will follow at Belyea's Cove Cemetery
Donations made to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

Esther Margaret Alward
August 24, 1910 - March 6, 2001

MRS. ESTHER MARGARET ALWARD, of Kiwanis Nursing Home, formerly Wallace Crt. Sussex, NB, passed away at her residence on March 6, 2001, born in Bisbee, Arizona on August 24, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Daniel R. and Margaret (MacKay) Keith.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Alward who passed away in 1974.
Esther is survived by 2 daughters Joan Mulock and her husband Norman of Moncton, Margaret Knowles and her husband Ronald of Orleans, Ont., 3 sons, Keith and his wife Doris of Sussex, Dalton and his wife Margaret of Calgary, David and his wife Dorothy of Halifax, 4 brothers; James Keith of Moncton, Duncan Keith and his wife Margaret of Calhoun, Daniel Keith and his wife Anne of Sussex Corner, John Keith and his wife Frances of London, Ont. 13 Grandchildren 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Esther was predeceased by her brother George and by 3 sisters Marion, Beatrice, Jessie
Esther was a former member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was a Charter Member of Kings Chapter # 21, OES, a member of the Lord Beaverbrook Chapter # 33, OES, the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Sussex Branch #20 and St. Paul's United Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with date and time of funeral to be announced. the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home. The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The Lord Beaverbrook Chapter # 33, Order of the Eastern Star will hold a tribute on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held from St.. Paul's United Church on Friday, March 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Hussey officiating. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring.
Donations made to Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex Hospital Auxiliary, St. Paul’s United Church, Keith Foundation or the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

Jarvis C. Anderson
September 22, 1926 - March 28, 2001

Mr. Jarvis C. Anderson, of Baxter St., Norton, New Brunswick passed away at Sussex Health Centre on March 28, 2001.
Born in Walker Settlement, New Brunswick on September 22, 1926, he was the son of the late Thompson and Nettie (Walker) Anderson.
Jarvis is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Green) Anderson his son, Jarvis of Norton, his brother Derald Anderson and his wife Ruby of Saint John, 3 sisters Florence Lynch and her husband George of Poodiac, Lauretta Campbell of Saskatchewan and Emma Anderson of Sussex Corner
Jarvis was predeceased by a brother Raymond and four sisters Kathleen Steel, Pauline Barton, Lillian Joyce and Marion Anderson
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment at Trinity Cemetery in the spring.
Donations made to Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.

Lawrence Robert Colpitts
March 27, 1936 - March 20, 2001

Mr. Lawrence Robert Colpitts, of 11 Maxwell Dr. Sussex, New Brunswick passed away peacefully at home on the evening of March 20, 2001 after a lengthy illness.
Lawrence was born in Hartland, New Brunswick on March 27, 1936, and was the son of the late Robert and Marguerite (Wheaton) Colpitts.
He is survived in his immediate family by: his wife, Sylvia (Brownrigg) Colpitts; his son, Blois Colpitts and his wife Jennifer Callbeck, two grandsons, Campbell John Colpitts and William Daniel Colpitts of Halifax, Nova Scotia; his brother, Kenneth N. Colpitts and his wife Pam Blue of Edmonton, Alberta; and his stepmother, Shirley Colpitts of Moncton, New Brunswick; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was predeceased by his son Daniel Lawrence Colpitts who passed away suddenly in 1987 and by his brother Clyde Colpitts who passed away in1986.
Lawrence was a retired bank manager having worked in the banking industry with the Bank of Nova Scotia and Central Guaranty Trust Company for collectively over 30 years.
He loved people and he loved banking. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), A graveside funeral service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, New Brunswick at a late date in May, 2001 with his good friend Rev. Bob Hussey officiating.
Donations made to Red Cross Equipment Fund H.E.L.P, the Red Cross (www.redcross.ca) or the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

MRS. MARGARET ALBERTA COREY
February 14, 1913 - April 18, 2001

MRS. MARGARET ALBERTA COREY, of Essex St., Sussex, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on April 18, 2001.
Born in Renforth, NB on February 14, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Percy Douglas and Sarah "Ethel" (Hosford) Allaby.
She was the beloved wife of the late J. Gordon Corey who passed away in 1991.
Margaret is survived by her 4 daughters; Evelyn Perry and her husband Harold of Coles Island, Romayne Dickinson of Saint John, Elsie Hawker and her husband Hazen of Coles Island, Owena Corey of Sussex and her fiancée James Urquhart of Bloomfield, 2 sons; Percy Corey and his wife Norma of Gatineau, Quebec, Walter Corey and his wife Lola of Havelock, her sister; Winifred Nelson of Cambridge Narrows, 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Jean Pearson, 4 brothers, Walter, Robert, Edward and Colby and by 2 great grandsons, Joseph and Trevor and a son-in-law, Fred Dickinson.
Margaret was a retired schoolteacher having taught for over 37 years in Central and Southern NB. She was an active member of the PC Association; she was a member of the Gloria Fownes Chapter of the Eastern Star in Havelock, a former member of the IODE and ran the "Book Stop" in Sussex for over 17 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held from New Canaan United Baptist Church on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 10:00 am, with Rev. Dan Jack and Rev. Gordon Walker officiating. Interment at New Canaan United Baptist Cemetery.
Donations made to Bobbie Munroe Palliative Care, the New Canaan United Baptist Church or the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

Kathleen M. DeVine
1931 - 2002

Mrs. Kathleen M. DeVine, of Hillsdale, NB, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on March 23, 2002. Kathleen was born in Poodiac, NB on August 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Lora (Mallery) Mahoney.
She is survived by Elward, her beloved husband of 42 years. Her daughters, Cheryl Case and her husband Ray of Yellowknife, Sheila DeVine of Yellowknife, Nancy Secord and her husband Harold of Penobsquis, Cathy Burns and her husband Jim of Hampton. 7 sisters, Loretta Hanlon of Bloomfield, Jean Graves of Jemseg, Rita Bortlucci of Ont., Lois Erb and her husband Bob of Belleisle, Irene Goddard and her husband John of Grand Bay, Angela Henderson of Sussex, Diane Ganong and Tom Trecartin of Yellowknife, 2 brothers Reg and his wife Donna of Newline Rd., Leo and his wife Donna of Sussex Corner, 8 Grandchildren Melissa, Robert, Andrew, Devin, Liam, Dillon, Colin, Sean, as well as several nieces and nephews
Kathleen was predeceased by her sister Marie, 3 brothers, Fred, Ronnie and John
Kathleen devoted her life to Elward and their girls. One of her proudest moments was seeing her one and only granddaughter, Melissa being the first grandchild to join the DeVine family followed by seemingly endless grandsons.
She often spoke of the many fond memories that she shared with her family of 14 brothers and sisters, as they grew and lived their life on the farm in Poodiac.
Her passion was quilting. She made quilts for all her daughters, every grandchild and many more in between. Kathleen and her sisters spent endless hours crafting quilts to ensure every niece and nephews had a Mahoney Quilt to seal their marriage.
She spent countless hours visiting relatives and learning more about the DeVine and the Mahoney family history over endless cups of tea. Many shared great joy in sharing stories about their descendants.
One of Kathleen’s greatest pleasures in life was the trips she took with her sisters. She traveled to Yellowknife twice with some of her sisters and twice with her husband. Her latest train trip was with three of her sisters to Brighton, Ontario to visit her sister Rita.
Mom loved family gatherings, baking, berry picking, staying at the camp, quilting, discovering family history and going to church.
Kathleen lived an active and fulfilling life until March 23, 2002.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday 7-9 pm, Monday 2-4, 7-9 pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 2:00 pm, with Fr. Kevin Barry and Fr. Peter Bagley officiating. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery in the spring.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the memorial of the donors choice.
