Glennie Horsman
1913-2009
Glennie Margaret Horsman, 96, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday May 28, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Salisbury she was a daughter of the late Silas and Margaret (Yeo) Lewis. Glennie was a retired Purchasing Agent with No. 5 Supply Depot. She was a member of the Second North River United Baptist Church and an adherent with Salisbury Baptist Church. Glennie was also a member of the Salisbury Golden Age Club and the Monday Morning Merry Makers.
She is survived by her son Earl (Sylvia)of McKees Mills; grandchildren Lee Horsman of Calgary, AB, Sandra Pond of Chatham, ON and Barbara Horsman of Moncton; great grandchildren Matthew and Leanne Pond and several nieces and nephews. Glennie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar; sisters Minnie O’Blenis, Ada Wright, Edith Groundwater and Annabelle Price; brothers Herbert, Frank, Clarence, Perley, Lee & Russell Lewis.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Sunday May 31 from 1 p.m. … 2 p.m. The Funeral will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

BARTON, ARNOLD JAMES - At the Saint John Regional on Friday, May 4th, 2007 ARNOLD JAMES BARTON, 87 years of age; Survived by son John AA Barton (Celestine) of Moncton; daughters Susan Wilson (Lester) of Saint John and Annie Capson of Moncton; by six grandchildren; by three great-grandchildren and by brother Harold Emerson Barton of Dufferin Road, Chipman. In addition to his parents Albert and Amy (Jenkins) Barton, he was predeceased by his wife Lena Annie (Bonnell) Barton in 2004, by siblings Stanley, Sidney, Harvey, Robert, Weldon and Walter Barton, Ida Clark, Ruby Estey and Bertha Coughlan.
Funeral service will be held from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church in Chipman on Monday, May 7th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Egers officiating followed by interment in the Lower Range Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. At 6:45 p.m. a Legion Memorial Service will be held. In lieu of flowers donation to the Lower Range Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
BISHOP, MARIE AGNES (WASSON)
At Winnipeg, Marie Agnes (Wasson) Bishop, widow of Gordon Bishop, at the age of 91 years; Survived by her daughters, Dr. Agnes Bishop of Winnipeg and Dr. Doris Nicoll (Robert) of Canberra Australia; by daughters-in-law Teresa of Bathurst, widow of Gene Bishop, and Carolyn of Baytown Texas, widow of Dr. Arthur Bishop; by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie lived most of her life in Chipman, After she and Gordon retired from the Stedman’s Five and Ten Cent Store, they continued to reside in Chipman enjoying maintaining a very large garden and their evening drives. Marie traveled often to Australia and Texas to visit her children. Following Gordon’s death she moved to Bathurst to reside happily with Gene, Terry and their four children. Her last five years have been in Winnipeg with daughter Agnes, and most recently receiving excellent care from the Misericordia Place Nursing Home. On Tuesday June 13th, 2006 funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Dunnett officiating. Interment will follow in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. The family is especially grateful to cousins Bona and Bruce Robinson and Rev. Donald Burke for their help with funeral arrangements in ensuring that Marie was returned to her beloved New Brunswick to be next to her husband.

BISHOP, VERA MURIEL – At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. on March 11, 2006 VERA MURIEL BISHOP, 90 years of age, wife of the late Roy Elmer Bishop. Survived by two daughters, Ida Fairweather (Fred) and Dayna (Gomer) Fearn, of Chipman and three sons, Murray (Anne), Garnett (Nancy), of Chipman and Hugh John (Linda), of Briggs Corner, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grand children, a special nephew, Gordon Murray and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Roy Elmer Bishop, two children, Adrienne and Earle Bishop, her parents, George and Ida (Bishop) and brothers, John, Russell, Blair, Harold and Marshal Murray. Vera was a life member of the Chipman Women’s Institute, a member of LOBA #1131 and a member of the First Chipman United Baptist Church, Gaspereau. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 13th, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at the Chipman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Chipman United Baptist Church, Gaspereau with interment to be held at the First Chipman United Baptist Church cemetery, Gaspereau. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Chipman United Baptist Church, Gaspereau or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

At Minto, on Thursday, May 7th, 2009 ANDREA LYNN BLYTH traumatically passed at 21 years of age. Survived by her finance, Josh Powers, by her mother Beverley (Jenkins) Blyth of Minto; by maternal grandfather Lloyd Jenkins; by father David (Debbie) Blyth and paternal grandmother Ida Blyth each of Chipman; by brother David (Shawntell) Kelly; by aunt Jeannie (Jenkins) Buchanan of Chipman and uncle Darwyn Jenkins of Ottawa. Predeceased by maternal grandmother Mary Jenkins and by paternal grandfather Andy Blyth.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Saturday. Funeral services will be held from Christian Life Center, Chipman, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday with Rev. Dennis Sisco and Rev. Kris Austin officiating. Interment in the Chipman United Penteostal Cemetery by her grandmother, Mary Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, donations to WG Bishop Nursing Home Bus Fund would be appreciated by the family.

BLYTH, WARREN KAMBER - The death of Warren Kamber Blyth occurred at the St John Regional Hospital on December 1, 2005 at the age of 48 years. Born December14, 1956 in Chipman, he was the son of Andrew and Ida Blyth. Survived by mother Ida, brothers David (Debbie), Jim (Rose). Mark (Sherry), Billy (Inez) and by sisters May Norcott (Gary), Linda Kaulbach (Rose), Lorraine Saulnier (Thomas). Predeceased by father, Andrew Blyth in 2001. Visitation at Chipman Funeral Home 2-4 and 7-9 Saturday with Legion service at 6:45. Funeral service at 2 p.m. from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church on Sunday, December 4, 2005, officiated by Pastor John Dunnett and assisted by Rev. Jim Postlethwaite. Interment at the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. Lunch served at the Church following the committal.

At the York Manor Nursing Home. Fredericton, on Thursday, February 12th, 2009 MATILDA (Tillie) JANE BOYD passed on at the age of 97 years. Widow of Harold Boyd and daughter of the late Leslie and Bella (Carlin) Glenn, she is survived by her sons Willard (Marion) Boyd and Leslie (Sherry) Boyd, each of Fredericton and by sons Clayton (Donna) Boyd and Russell (Esther) Boyd each of Chipman; by daughters Constance Brown of New Hampshire, Rhetta Ann (John) Sweeney of Georgia and Merlene (Murray Jr. - "Sonny" ) McLellan of Nackawic; by brother Otty (Phyllis) Glenn of Chipman; by sisters Juanita (Wendell) Ladd of Moncton and Helen Carpenter of Hampton; and by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Hollie, Everette and Vernon Glenn and by sisters Bernice McLeod, Muriel Boyd and Fern Stevens.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Monday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Pete Thomas, York Manor Chaplain, officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home, on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. Memorials to York Manor or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Spring interment in the Red Bank United Cemetery.

BOYD, MEREA – Our hearts are broken with the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister, Merea Boyd of Chipman. Merea died at the hospital in London, Ontario February 12, 2007. Born in Harcourt, NB on May 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Stella Wry. Merea is survived by sons, Paul (Karen), Terry, Lennie (Marilyn), Martin (Jackie) and daughter Judy Chase (bobby), sisters, Violet Austin (Calvin), Catherine Chase and 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Merea was predeceased by husband, Russell Boyd, grandson, Jamie Boyd, sisters, Bunny Petley and Maud Edmanson, brother, Clarence Wry and nieces Margaret Young and Linda Adams. Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Saturday, February 17 when the funeral will be held at the Chipman United Church at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9.

BRANSCOMBE, STERLING WARREN – At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. on March 17, 2006, STERLING WARREN BRANSCOMBE, 81 years of age, husband of the late Ramona Pearl (Bishop) Branscombe. Survived by one daughter, Paulette (Dale), of Cumberland Bay, one sister, Glenna (Malcolm) McNamara, of Hardwood Ridge, three grandchildren, Jarrett, Bailey, Taylor, Lucas and Grace and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Ramona Pearl (Bishop) Branscombe, three sisters, Geraldine, Sara and Lorna and two brothers, Clayton and Douglas Branscombe. Sterling was a member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Chipman and was an avid bowler at Chipman Bowlaroma. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 18th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Chipman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 19th at 2:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Chipman, with Rev. Eileen Irish officiating and Rev. John Dunnett assisting. Interment will be at the 2nd Chipman United Baptist Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Augustine’s Anglican Church of Chipman would be appreciated by the family.
