Surrounded by family CAROL BEATRICE (Nee Chase) BUCHANAN of Chipman passed away at the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home on December 20th, 2009 at the age of 81. Daughter of the late Wellington and Della (Bishop). Carol is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son Neil (Sandra) Chase of Blacks Harbour; her grandson Michael (Shawn) Chase; her granddaughter, Heather Chase and her great-grandson Daniel. Also survived by her sister-in-law Maisie Chase and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Murray, her brothers, Clayton, Kenneth, Purdy, Reggie and Vernon. Also predeceased by her sisters, Anna, Helen and Ruth.
Carol was always ready for a laugh, joke or cup of tea, she enjoyed many summers camping and taking part in the Margie Jean Lacey group at the Chipman United Church. Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kathi Zwicker officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, W.G. Bishop Nursing Home Van Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment in Red Bank United Cemetery at a later date.

BRANSCOMBE, STERLING WARREN – At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. on March 17, 2006, STERLING WARREN BRANSCOMBE, 81 years of age, husband of the late Ramona Pearl (Bishop) Branscombe. Survived by one daughter, Paulette (Dale), of Cumberland Bay, one sister, Glenna (Malcolm) McNamara, of Hardwood Ridge, three grandchildren, Jarrett, Bailey, Taylor, Lucas and Grace and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Ramona Pearl (Bishop) Branscombe, three sisters, Geraldine, Sara and Lorna and two brothers, Clayton and Douglas Branscombe. Sterling was a member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Chipman and was an avid bowler at Chipman Bowlaroma. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 18th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Chipman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 19th at 2:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Chipman, with Rev. Eileen Irish officiating and Rev. John Dunnett assisting. Interment will be at the 2nd Chipman United Baptist Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Augustine’s Anglican Church of Chipman would be appreciated by the family.

COLE, NANCY ALICE (SMITH) – At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 13th, 2006, Nancy Alice (Smith) Cole died unexpectedly at 64 years of age.Survived by one son, John; one daughter, Sherry Lee Carter; one sister, Mary Darrah, of Chipman, by four brothers, Jack (Grace) Smith and Wayne (Peggy) Smith, both of Chipman; Lloyd (Anna) Smith, of Fredericton and by Allen (Louise Chiasson) Smith, of Mississauga, Ontario; and by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Predeceased by her parents, Willard and Avis Smith and by three sisters and two brothers.There will be no visitation or memorial service as requested by the family.In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

At home on March 6th, 2008 MYRA WINONA COLWELL, passed on in her 91st year, daughter of Harry and Pearl (McAllister) Higgins and widow of Frank Colwell. She is survived by daughter Eleanor (Hanson) Campbell of Chipman, brother Murray (Mona) Higgins of Chipman, 4 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Lorne, Orville and Harold Higgins and by sisters Verna Higgins, Irene Barton and Valerie Bishop.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Sunday when service will be held from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor David Egers officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Spring interment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. CRAWFORD, VELMA MAY – Velma May Crawford passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, on August 29th, 2007 at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Crawford; by parents Ernest and Carrie (Upton) Briggs; and by son Ernest Crawford. She is survived by daughter Elizabeth - Betty (John) Shorrock of Chipman; by grandchildren Karen Shorrock, Donald Shorrock, Linda Ward, Richard Crawford, Allen Crawford, Peter Crawford and Brenda LeBlanc; by great-grandchildren Emma Shorrock, Katelyn Crawford, Natasha LeBlanc, Matthew LeBlanc, Trevor Ward, Shawn Ward, Scott Crawford, Ashley Maxwell, Bryon Richard and Bradley Crawford; and by great-great-grandchildren Alisha Crawford, Chloe Ward, Xavier Maxwell, Skyler Richard, Austin Ward and Adian Ward.

At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, on Monday, November 26th, 2007 HAYWARD ALLISON BROWN, 81 years of age, son of Harry and Beatrice (Beers) Brown. Hayward was predeceased by his wife Faye (Roberts) Brown in 1984. He is survived by sons Roger (Maggie) Brown of Chipman and Neil (Sharon Gow) of Alberta; by daughters Cheryl (Russ) Burns of Courtney, BC and Tammy (Gene) Butland of Fredericton; by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; by brother Wayne (Barby) Brown and sisters Reta Branscombe, Gwen (Arnette) Briggs and Laura (Lindy) Langin, all of Chipman. He was predeceased by three infant children, brother Ross Brown and sister Daureen Richardson.
