BARTON, MURRAY ROBERT - At the Sussex Health Centre, on Sunday, July 15th, 2007 MURRAY ROBERT BARTON, 93 years of age; Predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Lucy (Beak) Barton and by his wife, Cora (Ferris) Barton in 1999. He is survived by seven daughters, Roberta-Betty (Robert) Ryder of Waterborough, Barbara-Bobbie Dugal of Alliston, Ontario, Bertha-Bunnie (Scott) MacPherson of Montague, Prince Edward Island, Dorothy-Patty MacIntosh of Muzzerole Settlement, Carol (Forrest) Eardley of Fredericton, Marlene (Don) Shirley of Chipman and Karen (Allan D’Aoust) of Jemseg; by brother Everett Barton of Lincoln; by sisters Marion Crawford of Minto and Marjorie Hovey of Waterborough; by 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and his parents, he is predeceased by a sister Gladys Lewis and brothers John and Bruce Barton.
Resting at the home of Karen Barton at 17 Rte. #715, Jemseg (488-3310) until Thursday when funeral services will be held from the Waterborough Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Price and Rev. Harry Branscombe officiating. Interment in the Waterborough Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of donors choice or Waterborough Baptist Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.

At the Pallative Care Unit of the Queens North Complex on Friday, March 21st, 2008 Donetta (Donna) Bishop passed away at the age of 75 years, widow of Orville Frederick Bishop and daughter of the late Frederick and Susan (Granville) Stilwell. Survived by sons Kevin (Cathy) and Mark (Roddy), daughters Marilyn (Darrel) McAllister all of Chipman and Lynn (Mike) Boyne of Fredericton; by brother Stephen (Linda) Stilwell of Salmon Creek and by sisters Doris Long of Minto and Anna (Ted) Nitz of Geary; by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and by special friend Gloria. Predeceased by son Allan Bishop, ten brothers and sisters, and by two grandsons.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Tuesday when service will be held from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dave Egers and Rev. John Dunnett officiating. Spring internment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Legion service at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Second Chipman United Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.

BISHOP, MARIE AGNES (WASSON) - At Winnipeg, , widow of Gordon Bishop, at the age of 91 years; Survived by her daughters, Dr. Agnes Bishop of Winnipeg and Dr. Doris Nicoll (Robert) of Canberra Australia; by daughters-in-law Teresa of Bathurst, widow of Gene Bishop, and Carolyn of Baytown Texas, widow of Dr. Arthur Bishop; by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie lived most of her life in Chipman, After she and Gordon retired from the Stedman’s Five and Ten Cent Store, they continued to reside in Chipman enjoying maintaining a very large garden and their evening drives. Marie traveled often to Autralia and Texas to visit her children. Following Gordon’s death she moved to Bathurst to reside happily with Gene, Terry and their four children. Her last five years have been in Winnipeg with daughter Agnes, and most recently receiving excellent care from the Misericordia Place Nursing Home. On Tuesday June 13th, 2006 funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Dunnett officiating. Interment will follow in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. The family is especially grateful to cousins Bona and Bruce Robinson and Rev. Donald Burke for their help with funeral arrangements in ensuring that Marie was returned to her beloved New Brunswick to be next to her husband.

BISHOP, VERA MURIEL – At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. on March 11, 2006 VERA MURIEL BISHOP, 90 years of age, wife of the late Roy Elmer Bishop. Survived by two daughters, Ida Fairweather (Fred) and Dayna (Gomer) Fearn, of Chipman and three sons, Murray (Anne), Garnett (Nancy), of Chipman and Hugh John (Linda), of Briggs Corner, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grand children, a special nephew, Gordon Murray and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Roy Elmer Bishop, two children, Adrienne and Earle Bishop, her parents, George and Ida (Bishop) and brothers, John, Russell, Blair, Harold and Marshal Murray. Vera was a life member of the Chipman Women’s Institute, a member of LOBA #1131 and a member of the First Chipman United Baptist Church, Gaspereau. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 13th, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at the Chipman Funeral Home (www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Chipman United Baptist Church, Gaspereau with interment to be held at the First Chipman United Baptist Church cemetery, Gaspereau. At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, HELEN G. WATSON, of Chipman, New Brunswick, passed away August 17th, 2009 at the age of 98. She has been residing in St. Stephen Seniors Complex for the last two and three-quarters years. She is the daughter of the late Melvin and Catherine Kadey.
Helen is survived by thirteen nieces and nephews: Garnet (Lucille) Kadey, Clifton (Emily) Kadey, Cyril Kadey, Mary Kadey, Thelma (Laverne) Dixon, Raye Kadey, Helen (John) Gray, Sheryl (Ivan) Bourgeois, Dana (Mary Jo) Kadey, Linda (Don) Charters, Daryl (Angela) Branscombe, Dana (Debra) Branscombe, Jane (Bob) Sanderson. Also thirty great nieces and nephews, twenty-eight great-great nieces and nephews and eight great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Oscar J. Watson; by four brothers; Ellery, Hazen, Gordon and Willard Kadey and one sister Vera S. Branscombe. Also predeceased by three nephews; Carroll, Clayton and Willard Kadey and one niece, Iola (Kadey) Wasson and two great nephews Michael and Anthony Branscombe.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Second Chipman United Baptist Church, Chipman, with Rev. David Egers officiating. As requested by Helen, there is no visitation, no flowers and no reception. Interment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of your choice, or to the Michael C. Branscombe Scholarship Trust Fund at University of New Brunswick, would be appreciated by the family.

With her family at her side on February 19th, 2010 CLARA BERNICE WEBBER passed away at home at the age of 77. She is the daughter of the late Don and Regina (Bishop) Beers. Clara is survived by her daughters, Wanda Northrup of Chipman, Joanne (Lauder ) of Chipman, Roberta (Mike) of Prince George, BC, Joy (Gary) of Oshawa Ont, Janet (John) of Terrance, B.C.and Susan (Sonny) of Pediwawa, Ontario; by her sons, Bedford (Janet) of Chipman, Gary (Roselyn) of Chipman, Robert (Marilyn)and Gorden {Dr. Elizabeth Webber} both of Oshawa; by her sisters June Baker (Doug) of Woodstock and Debbie Austin (David) of Chipman; by brothers, Jimmy Beers of Chipman, John Beers(Brenda) of Burton and Frank Beers (Darlene) of Doaktown; by 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Murray Webber and two infant sisters, Ester Matilda and Helen Ida Beers.
