Frederick (Teddy) Fowlie
1937 - 2008

Frederick (Teddy) William Fowlie, husband of Blanche (Bunny) Fowlie, of Miramichi Bay, passed away on arrival at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the age of 70. Born in Black River Bridge, on September 22, 1937, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (MacLean) Fowlie. He was Christian by Faith and a retired employee of Byron MacDonald Painting Ltd. He is survived by his wife, the former Blanche (Bunny) MacDonald; five daughters, Pam Hauselmann (Roni), of Stouffville, Ont., Nansi Carter (Wallace), of Moncton, Angela McCall (Andy), of Ajax, Ont., Jodi Fowlie (Shawn), of Miramichi Bay, Jill Fowlie (Rob), of Whitby, Ont.; three sons, Herbert Fowlie (Gwen), of Cookstown, Ont., Darren MacDonald (Peggy), of Miramichi, Barclay MacDonald (Tanya), of Red Deer, Alberta; two sisters, Anna Watling (Neil), of Little Branch Road and Beth Fowlie, of Miramichi Bay; two brothers, Ingram Fowlie (Connie), of Port Hawksbury, N.S. and Archie Fowlie (Jean), of Bathurst; Teddy was a very special "Papa" to eleven grandchildren. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday. The funeral service was held from the home of Stephen MacDonald, 112 North Napan Road, on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 4 pm, with William Bryant officiating. The music for the service was provided by Mrs. Lorraine Dickson and the hymns were "Thy Child" and ""Teach Me Thy Way". A special musical selection was offered by Ted's uncle, Everard MacLean on the fiddle and a poem was presented by Darren Fowlie, Ted's nephew. The honorary pallbearers were John Depew, Neil Watling, Ross Mault, Stephen Williston, Mark MacDonald, Neil McCullum, Cecil MacDonald, Elwell MacDonald, Robert Fowlie, David Williston. The active pallbearers were Stephen MacDonald, Gilbert Martin, Andy McCall, Roni Hauselmann, Wallace Carter, Shawn Sullivan. Interment was in the Bayside Christian Cemetery, Miramichi Bay. Eleanor Gertrude Upham

Eleanor G. (MacDonald) Upham, 52, of Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Napan, NB passed away peacefully at home in Mesa on August 4, 2008. Eleanor is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Laura (Mark) Crocker and Jane Upham; sons, Ben and Edward; mother, Trudy MacDonald; sisters, Gwen (Elwin) Dickson, Dorothy MacDonald and Peggie (Darrin) MacDonald; brothers, Dennis, Lockie (Sharon), Stephen (Sandra), and Roy (Wendy); and grandchildren, Madison, Kayla and Abby. She was predeceased by her father, Byron MacDonald; brothers, Mark and Gerald. Funeral in Mesa, Arizona, Saturday, August 9, 2008.

Elby W. Donnelly
1925-2008

Elby Walter Donnelly, husband of Shirley Donnelly, of Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, August 4, 2008, at the age of 83. Born in Storytown, on January 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Allen E. and Pansy (Beek) Donnelly. Prior to retirement, he was an employee of Shell Oil Canada Ltd., and the owner/operator of Donnelly's Shell, in Moncton for many years. He was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge; a former member of the Board of Stewards of St. Stephen's Church; a member of the Black River Senior Citizens Club. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in Canada with the Canadian Army. Elby took pride in everything he did, as was witnessed by the appearance of his workplace, of his property and the dedication he gave to ensuring the St. Stephen's United Church property was always kept neat & tidy. His greatest pride, however, was toward his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A legacy that will continue through them. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley MacRae; one daughter, Blyn Donnelly-Jardine (Doug), of Napan; two sons, Brian Donnelly (Pam), of Moncton and Grant Donnelly (Sylvia), of Bathurst; one daughter in law, Judy Donnelly, of Napan; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Moore, of Fredericton and Ruby Kostiuk, of Westlock, Alta; one brother, Rex Donnelly, of Doaktown; one half sister, Valerie O'Donnell, of Doaktown; two half brothers, York Donnelly (Brenda) and Selwin Donnelly (Trudy), all of Doaktown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Marven Donnelly; one grandson, Gregory Bruce Donnelly; two brothers, Glen and Roy Donnelly; one sister, Evelyn Donnelly. Visiting was held at the funeral home on Wednesday. The funeral service was from St. Stephen's United Church, on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. The music for the service was provided by William Sweezey and the hymns were "In The Bulb There Is A Flower" and "Go Now in Peace". A scripture was read by Mrs. Kelsey McLenaghan - Chhuom. The honorary pallbearers were Joanne McLenaghan, Geraldine Brennan, Carolyn Harper, Louis Morris, Emerson McLenaghan, Blanche MacDougall, Hugh Godfrey, Cameron MacDonald, Gary McLenaghan, Laurie Patterson. The active pallbearers were Mark Donnelly, Jeff Donnelly, Scott Donnelly, David Brennan, Sinclair Walsh, Meak Chhuom. To Live in The hearts Of Those We Love - Is Not To die

Clara Gwyneth Johnston

The death of Clara Gwyneth Johnston, wife of Woodrow Johnston of Sunny Corner, NB, occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home at the age of 85. Born in Boom Road, NB, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Jessie (Holmes) McAllister. Clara was a homemaker and a member of Boom Road Pentecostal Church, Boom Road. Besides her husband, Clara is survived by one sister; Kathleen Jardine of Etibocoke, ON, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Clara is predeceased by four brothers; Wilfred, Orville, Edward and William, three sisters; Mary Mullin, Vera Crocker and Florence Sutherland. The family received visitors at the Boom Road Pentecostal Church, Boom Road on Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service was held from the Boom Road Pentecostal Church on Saturday at 2 PM with Pastor Fred Williams officiating. Musicians were: Mary Matheson, Gwen Williams and Eleanor Travis. Congregational hymns were: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," "He Hideth My Soul" and "My Savior First of All." Solo: "By His Grace" by: Laurie Curtis and Solo: "Consider the Lilies" by Blair Baisley. Scripture Reading by Brenda Nowlan. Eulogy by Dusty Johnstone. Active pallbearers were Sheldon Sutherland, Edward Killam, Lish Johnstone, Clarke Johnstone, Pat Mutch and Ted Mullin. Burial followed in the Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery. In Clara's memory, donations may be made to the Boom Road Pentecostal Church Elevator Fund or the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home. Robertville - Léona Frenette, 72, wife of Conrad Frenette, of Robertville, passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Born in Robertville, she was the daughter of the late David and Yvonne (Frenette) Roy. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Jean-Paul (Line Ouellet) of Beresford; three daughters, Réjeanne Frenette (Francis Lord) of Balmoral, Marie-Mai Frenette (Denis Doucet) of Robertville, Denise Frenette (Gary Kwiapkowski) of Ste Rosette; eight brothers, Cléophas, Régis (Adrienne) and Jean-Claude (Mireille Doucet), both of Robertville; Alcide (Thérèse) and Livain (Jeannine), both of Sormany; Gilbert (Odette) of Beresford, Alphé (Aline) of Ste Rosette, Emmanuel (Andréa) of Lugar, NB; seven sisters, Lina Comeau, Armande Doucet (Denis) and Francine Doucet (Jean-Paul), all of Robertville; Marie-Blanche Comeau (Fernand Tremblay) of Beresford, Murielle Roy (Charles) of LaPlante, Diane DeGrace (Michel) and Suzanne Roy (Jude), both of Tremblay; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Rolande. The body rested at Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), Beresford. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday afternoon (August 8, 2008) at 2:00 p.m. from Eglise Ste Thérèse, Robertville. Burial was in the Cimetière St. Nom de Jesus, Beresford.

Elizabeth Cormier

Bathurst - Mrs. Elizabeth Cormier, 88, wife of the late Lionel Cormier of Hillside Avenue in Bathurst, passed away on Thursday, 24 July 2008 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Boudreau and the late Rose Doucet. She is survived by four sons, Isidore (Carmen) Cormier of Quebec, Omer (Kelly) Cormier of Edmonton, Alberta, Henri Cormier, Fernand Cormier, both of Bathurst; five daughters, Yvonne Drysdale, Thérèse Cormier, Rosanne Cormier and Maria Cormier, all of Bathurst, and Anita Cormier of Lasalle, QC; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Jeannette, a sister Rose-Anna and a brother, Harry, predeceased her. Elizabeth was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The body rested at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, 26 July 2008 at 11:00 am from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst. Interment was in the Holy Family Parish cemetery, St. Peter Ave, Bathurst.

Donald Raymond Everard Doucet

Bathurst - Donald Raymond Everard Doucet, 52 years, husband of Cindy Rodgers Doucet of Riverside Dr., Bathurst, passed away on (August 4th 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Everard J. and late Elizabeth "Betty" (Ryan) Doucet. He was a self-employed woodworker in the winter and Gowan Brae Golfer the rest of the year. Honest man, good friend and an avid Scrabble adversary to his wife, Cindy. Survived by his wife, Cindy (Rodgers) Doucet and two daughters, Ashley and Colleen, both at home; a stepson, Evan Smith (Tammy) of Bathurst; one sister, Debbie Porter (Dave) of Quispamsis, NB; Mother-in-law, Annette Rodgers of Bathurst; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Thane) of Pembroke, ON, Carol (Blair), Karen (Doug), Lisa (Danny), all of Bathurst; a brother-in-law, Bruce (Carol) of Big River, NB Funeral Service was celebrated on Thursday (August 7, 2008) at 4:00 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., with Father Greg Culligan officiating. In memory of Donald, donations to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Arrangements were in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst (www.elhatton.com).

Ralph D. Mills
1928-2008

Ralph Donald Mills, of Benton, New Brunswick, passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the age of 79. Born in Benton to the late Ernest S. and Bella G. (Simmons) Mills, Ralph is survived by his wife, Irma (Collicott) Mills; two sons, Glen and (Carolyn) Mills of Coldstream, NB; Deane (Sally) Mills of Winterport, Maine; one daughter, Brenda Grant of Benton, NB. Ralph is also survived by three sisters, Juanita MacMillan, Irma McKinney and Wilda Leighton all of Benton, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his brother, Gordon; his sister, Glenna and son-in-law, Blair Grant. Ralph rested at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, where a Funeral Service was held on Tuesday the 22nd July, 2008. Pastor Luke Weaver officiated, and was assisted by Pastor Duane Collicott. The eulogy was given by Ralph's grandsons, Corey Grant and Jeremy Mills, with a special poem read by his granddaughter Stacey Serrano. Special music selections were sung by his great-granddaughter, Chala Serrano, and the Weaver family. Pallbearers were Wayne Delong, Jamie Kitchen, Allan Costain, Lennie Grant, Shawn Cox and Andy Depow. Honourary Pallbearers were Ralph Cummings, Ronald Bell, George Crandlemere, Austin Cummings, Roy MacNalley and Bob Ingram. Interment was held in the Village Light House Cemetery, Benton.
