MCGUIRE, VELMAN W.

Mr. Velman W. McGuire of Lethbridge, AB passed away on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 70. Velman was born January 1st, 1939 in New Brunswick and lived in Chamcook. He moved to Manitoba as a young man and later on to Alberta. He worked as a truck driver, auto body mechanic, and private driver. Velman also had many interests such as camping, gardening, fishing, and vehicle mechanics. He was known for his great sense of humor, his willingness to always lend a helping hand, and his great love for animals. Velman is survived by his son Raymond McGuire (Jill) of Winnipeg, MB, two sisters; Bernadine McCullough (Mac) of Winnipeg, MB, and Pat Lee of St. Andrew's, NB, one brother Wilfred McGuire (Shirley) of Grand Manan, NB, two aunts, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Anna McGuire of St. Andrews, NB, one younger brother Roger McGuire of Ontario. Velman will be sadly and lovingly missed by his family and friends. HAY, GARY FRANK

At his residence, April 2nd, 2009, Gary Frank Hay of Fredericton, NB. Son of Maxine G. (Moore) Hay and the late Robert F. Hay of St. Stephen, NB. Survived by one daughter; Katherine E. (Katie) Hay of Dartmouth, NS., his mother; Maxine, several cousins. Visitation will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Sunday, April 5th, 2009 from 2 to 4 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 6th, 2009 at 2 PM at Grace Memorial United Baptist Church, 536 Northumberland Street, Fredericton, NB. Family will receive relatives and friends at the Grace Memorial United Baptist Church, Fredericton on Monday from 12 to 2 PM. Interment will be held at a later date. COBHAM, DORIS. B.

The funeral service for the late Doris B. Cobham, wife of the late William F. "Buster" Cobham, formerly of Saint John East and the Kings Way Care Centre of Quispamsis was held on November 22, 2008 from Castle Funeral Home "Fallsview Chapel". The service was conducted by Rev. Dan Dryer. The organist was Carol Harris. The pallbearers were Carmen Pike, John Batten, Terry Sevenson, Scott Crosby, Ted Cosman, and Clayton Wade. Remembrances of Mrs. Cobham were shared by her sister Violet Matheson, and grandchildren Kimberly Muir and Scott Crosby. Among the many floral tributes were those from family and friends. Donations in memory of Mrs. Cobham were made to the Palliative Care Unit of the SJRH, Alzheimer's Society, N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Mindcare N.B., SJRH Foundation. Donations were also made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Kingston United Baptist Church, Glenview United Church, and to the Church of the Good Shepherd. Interment took place in Old Cedar Hill Cemetery with prayers by Rev. Dryer. The family would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at Kings Way Care Centre and the staff of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home during this difficult time.

SMITH, FREDERICK A.

The death of Frederick "Fred" Arnold Smith of Plumweseep, NB occurred on December 17, 2008 at the age of 85. Born at Dunsinane, NB, a son of the late Flossie Smith Leake and stepson of the late Harry Leake. Fred is survived by his wife Margaret (Coates) Smith; children, Tamara Smith Wilson (Daniel), Susan Thompson (Richard Prosser), Pam Munroe, Clifford Smith, Rose Freeze, Stephanie Ness and Lorraine Panchuk; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by children, Robert, Debbie and Stephen Smith. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute at 6:45PM Friday. The funeral service will be held on Saturday December 20, 2008 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Miranda Dawn Julien
1978 - 2009

On Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 Mrs. Miranda Dawn Julien of Cold Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 30 years. Miranda is lovingly survived by her husband: Heath Aaron Julien; four sons: Brandon, Eric, Quintin, Cole; daughter: Jessica; step daughter: Rhiannon; parents: Susan and Brian Goddard of Cold Lake, AB, Shannon and Danial Julien of Cold Lake, AB; two sisters: Amanda (Jeff) Davey of California, U.S.A.; Jennifer (Jason) Goddard-White of Cold Lake, AB; grandparents: Isabel and David Prosser of River Glade, NB, Jean Thorne of Havelock, NB, Clinton Goddard of Petitcodiac, NB; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Miranda was predeceased by her nephew: Issac Thomas Davey. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 6th, 2009 in Cold Lake, Alberta with Padre Bob Deobald officiating. Eulogist will be Gilbert Prosser. Pallbearers are: Adam Julien, Chris Lazenby, Jason White, Jeff Davey, Richard Newton, Desiree Julien. Memorial tributes in memory of Miranda may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a Living Memorial for the family and arranged locally through the Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800). www.keirsteads.ca

Ronald Graham (Danny)

Ronald Graham (Danny) passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 3rd, 2009 at the age of 40. Born January 6th, 1969 in Etobicoke, ON, Danny had been employed with Superior Propane for the last six years. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his mother, Bonnie O'Connell; life partner, Geri Meister; maternal grandmother Muriel Dickinson, step daughter Jodie Meister, step son Matthew Meister, all of Riverview, his sisters Tammy Froude and Melissa Graham, both of Moncton, his brother David O'Connell of Moncton, a grandson Connor, nieces and nephews; Haley, Matthew, Daniel, Britney, Tre, Kobe and Dustin-Lee. Not to be forgotten by a man's best friends, Boady and Oadie (his dogs). Danny is now with his loving grandfather Wesley Dickinson who predeceased him. Visitation will be held at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Sunday from 7 to 9. The funeral service will take place at Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 6th, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chris White officiating. The internment will take place at Alderwood Cemetery. Donations to The Moncton S.P.C.A. or the Riverview, Boys and Girls Club would be appreciated by the family. Yvonne C. Drapeau, 62, of Dieppe and formerly of Balmoral, NB, passed away on Friday, April 3rd 2009 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in St.-Quentin, NB, she was the daughter of the late Félix and the late Bernadette (née: Labrie) Cyr. Mrs. Drapeau had retired as a teacher from School District # 5, was a member of S.E.R.F. and a parishioner of Ste.-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB. She is survived by two sons: Ian (Sonia Comeau) of Bouctouche and Ken (Tara) of Moncton; one daughter, Nancy Payne of Montréal, QC; six sisters: Annette (Romain) Pelletier of Kelowna, BC, Ida (the late Frank) Szuszkiewicz of Montréal, QC, Claire (Rodolphe) Michaud of Edmundston, Lisette (Jean-Noël) Levesque of St.-Quentin, Pauline (Rinette Martin) of St.-Basil and Thérèse (Clermont) Levasseur of St.-Antoine-de-Tilly, QC; five brothers: Gilles (Leona) Cyr of St.-Jean-Port-Joli, QC, Aurèle (Carmen) Cyr of Gatineau, QC, Guy (Lilian McLeod) of Cocagne, Camille (Carmelle Chouinard) of St.-Fabien-de-Panet, QC and Albert (Mariette) Cyr of Ste.-Dorothée, QC; three grandchildren: Alexandre, Amélie and Andrew; many in-laws from Balmoral, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Drapeau in 2004; two sisters: Odette and Marie-Mai and also by one brother, Roger. Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Tuesday from 1 pm until time of service. Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 at 4 pm. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. KOUCHIBOUGUAC, NB - Emerentine Doucette 80, of Kouchibouguac passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 2nd, 2009. Born in Fontaine she was the daughter of the late Lazare and Elodie (Robichaud) Guimond. Emerentine will be sadly missed by her children; Bernard Doucette (Gisele) of Kouchibouguac, Alphonse Doucette (Alice) of Rogersville, Alonzo Doucette (Rose) of Bretagneville, Noël Doucette of Kouchibouguac, Eugère Doucette (Gail) of Pointe Sapin, Jeannette Daigle (Vincent) of St. Louis, Blondine Doucette of Kouchibouguac, Emerentine Doucette of St. Louis, Rosia Doucette of Kouchibouguac, Jeanne D'Arc Doucette (Yvon) of Kouchibouguac, Jirene Guimond (David) of Kouchibouguac, Doris Doucette of Moncton, 16 grand children, 10 great grand children, four brothers; Raymond (Marie), Valmond (Anise), Guy, Gerald (Rose-Marie), three sisters; Evangeline (late Julien), Leona, Lorraine (Arthur), several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Gerard Doucette, one brother; Real, one sister; Marie, and one grand child; Shawn. Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent with visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Tuesday at 9:00 am until departure for funeral. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Louis des Francais Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis de Kent on Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Claire Fontaine at a later date.
