WHITESIDE, DENNIS R.
The death of Dennis Roger Whiteside of Calgary, Alberta occurred on June 24, 2009 at the age of 61. Born in Duncan, BC, he was a son of Mary "Polly" (Burrows) Whiteside of Sussex and the late Stanley Whiteside. As well as his mother, Dennis is survived by his daughters; Tracy Booth (Robert) and Heather Kincade (Doug), all of Sussex and son Michael Whiteside (fiancé Miranda Murray) of Wards Creek and their mother Arletta Whiteside of Plumweseep, three grandchildren Jamie Denise, Christopher and Emily, his brother Glen Whiteside (Jill Greenly) of Lantzville, BC and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his father and a brother Allan Burrows Whiteside. Arrangements are in the care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133). MARTIN, MURRAY ARTHUR
The death of Murray Arthur Martin, loving husband of Dianne Lynn (Linda) (MacDonald) Martin occurred on Friday June 26, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1940 in Saint John he was the son of the late Myles and Laura (Comeau) Martin. Besides his loving wife Linda of 24 years he is survived by his son Bill Martin (Erin) of Back Bay; brothers Bobby Martin (Lori), Joe Martin (Beverly) both of Saint John and Linda Martin (Ellie) of Trenton, ON; sisters Barbara Robinson and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Campbell (Bob Marr) both of Saint John and Helen (Buzzie) Purnell of Australia; grandchildren Tiffany Martin, Courtney Martin, Chloe Martin, Amanda Martin and Lacey Kierstead; great grandchildren Ahyle Martin and Hazen Crossman; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother Donald Myles Martin. By request there will be no visitations or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). The family would appreciate donations made the charity of the donor's choice.
CLEVELAND, EVA GERALDINE (NEE HARVEY)
1917-2009
Passed away on Friday, June 19 at Grace Dart Long Term Care in Montreal, Quebec in her 92nd year. Mother of Kathryn Cleveland of Montreal and predeceased by daughter Geraldine Moore of Hoyt, NB. Survived also by her sister Doris Johnson of Niagara Falls, ON, grandson Alex Gelfand of Montreal, and granddaughter Jennifer Moore of Hoyt. Loving aunt to nieces Donna Mosher, Sheila Cossar and Carol Richardson of Halifax, Diane Olsen of Niagara Falls, nephew Bob Johnson of Hudson, QC, and to their many children. One of the last remaining survivors of the Halifax Explosion, Eva spent her entire working life in Halifax; the latter 25 years were with the Department of Defence and at the Dockyard. Upon retirement, she moved to Saint John, NB where she became an active member of the community. A private memorial service and burial at Camp Hill Cemetery will take place in Halifax later this year. ST. LOUIS DE KENT, NB - Eugène Boileau 89, formerly of Moncton passed away peacefully at La Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent on Monday, June 22, 2009. Born in Moncton, NB he was the son of the late Francois and Rachel (Bourgeois) Boileau. Survived by one daughter; Catherine (Robichaud) Doucet, three grand children; Reginald Jr. Robichaud (Rebecca), Claira Robichaud (Tanya), Jacques Robichaud (Tamara), three great grand children; Katie, Justin, Jessica, Rheannen, one great great grandson; Damon, and one brother; Paul. Predeceased by his wife; Laurette (Gallant) Boileau. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Wednesday from 7-9, Thursday at Noon until departure for funeral. MACDONALD, FAYE DOROTHY
On June 23, 2009, Faye D. MacDonald of Fredericton passed away peacefully at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB at the age of 98. Born in Maugerville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Maude (Kerne) Newman. Faye was a faithful member of the Salvation Army and has always had tremendous spiritual faith in our savior and major devotion and praise to the Salvation Army. The last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews and cousins. Faye was predeceased by her first husband Arthur Titus; second husband Douglas MacDonald; sons Donald, Arthur, Douglas, Allison and Darrell Titus; daughter Winnifred Parker; brothers Myles and Henry Newman; sister Laura Murray; and grandsons Allison Titus and David Titus. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Rd. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held Friday from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Captain's Brad and Jennifer Reid officiating. Interment in the Rural Cemetery Extension. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
LOMAX, CLINTON PERCY
1923-2009
The passing of Clinton Lomax, of New Maryland NB, occurred on June 23 at the Veterans Health Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Clinton worked at Battery and Electric, in Saint John, for over 30 years until his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kay), sons Terry and Stephen (Nancy) and four grand daughters. A service followed by a reception will be held at St. Lukes Anglican Church, 12 Quispamsis Road, Gondola Point on July 3rd at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fredericton SPCA, Saint John Animal Rescue League or a charity of your choice. Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton (458-1885), have been entrusted with the arrangements.
HATFIELD, BEVERLEY ANNE
Beverley Anne "Bev" Hatfield of Fredericton, NB, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by her husband, Lenard Hatfield and Good Friends. Born on March 27, 1942 in Liverpool, NS, she was the daughter of the late Kerwood and Audrey (Mallory) McConnell. Bev was a member of the Liverpool United Church, NS, where she was a member of the UCW, choir and also taught Sunday School. In addition to her husband, Bev is survived by her brother, Robert McConnell (Rachael); special niece, Holly McConnell; special nephew, Brian McConnell (Mary) all of Liverpool, NS and several grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 2 pm with Canon Jon Lownds officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in the United Church Cemetery, Liverpool, NS at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
