Raymond Joseph Roy
The family of Raymond Roy, husband of 35 years to Claudine Comeau - Roy, wishes to announce his passing on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Tremblay Settlement, NB, he was the youngest son of the late Stanislas and Anna (Arseneau) Roy. Raymond worked at the Port on the waterfront, owned a taxi business, and invested in real estate in his working years. In his early years, Raymond taught karate and judo, and was also a Cub Leader. He was a very faithful Catholic who served as an usher in many parishes throughout Saint John. He played guitar, and was a great singer and yodeler.
Besides his wife, Raymond is survived by three sons: Paul (Pat), Michael (Tammy), and Brian (Theresa); grandchildren: Nikki (Troy), Paul Jr., Debbie (Carl), Sara (Brian), Mikey (Haley), Ashley, Brian Jr. (Shelley), Steven (Melissa), and Jason (Echo); great - grandchildren: Jasmine, Logan, Mariah, Emma Grace, Emily, Ava, Danielle, and Hannah; Raymond’s daughters, Linda and Lori; his sister, Lina Comeau; extended family: Susan Roy, Lisa Ratcliffe and Gilles Prevost; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, 634 - 1965, with visiting on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, at which time a memorial service will take place at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home Chapel. Remembrances to Romero House would be appreciated by the family.
Arlene Duplessis
1947 - 2013
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Arlene Duplessis of Saint John. After a courageous battle with cancer, Arlene passed away on Thursday September 5, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John on May 11, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Lila Brown. Arlene graduated from Vocational High School. She was employed with Comcare for 18 years and also worked as a private caregiver for many years. She enjoyed all types of music, loved to take long walks, had a love for the water and fishing, animals, reading but most importantly the love of her family. She is survived by daughters, Lisa and Tina Duplessis; three sons, Stanley (Darlene), Kevin (Bernice) and Rex Duplessis and her special loved ones; Carrie, James, Douglas, Jeffrey and Karen. Also survived by her sister Doreen, grandchildren, Shanice, Antonio, April, Alyssa, Rex, Kevin, Emma, Shanice, Lea and great grandchildren; Madison and Brooklyn as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth and great grandchildren, Ellie and Connor.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965) with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 11:00am in the chapel followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edith (Legacy) (Mrs Stagg) Bennett of Saint John, NB, wife of Harold Bennett which occurred on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bathurst, NB she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Delima (Arsenault) Legacy. Edith’s life revolved around her husband and loving family. Her enjoyment was family events, ice fishing, bingo, playing cards, picking berries camping, and was young at heart. Besides her husband she is survived by her children: Stephen Stagg (Marilyn), Shirley O'Brien (Donald), Carol Long, Barbara Cogswell (Rick), Wayne Stagg (Judy), and Marilyn Somers (Donald); sister: Jeannette Cormier (Donat); grandchildren: Raymond, Darren, Billy, Tracey, Jason, Peter, Jennifer, David, Kimberly, Angela, David, Richard, John, Ryan, James, Catherine, Christine, and Joshua; 44 great - grandchildren; 6 great - great - grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and first husband, John Stagg she was predeceased by brothers: Herbert, Theodore, Edgar and Arthur sisters: Rita Belliveau, Yvonne Kruky, Loretta Thibodeau, and Louis Legacy.

Mary Lou Hope
1943 - 2013
Mary Lou Hope passed away in Toronto on December 28, 2013. Wife of Charles Christopher Hope. Mother of Mainguy and Tiffany. Sister of Joan Fitzpatrick. Predeceased by her late parents John and Mary (nee Dawson) Fitzpatrick. Mary Lou will be remembered for her dedication to her family, friends, colleagues and former students. She will be missed. Mary Lou took great pride in her home, that she loved. She also adored dogs. Mary Lou, who had been retired for fifteen years, had a great zest for life and lived each day to the fullest. Mary Lou loved to travel and in the thirty months prior to hospitalization she completed five major cruises and a trip to England.
By request of the family there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 28, 2014 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12:10 pm. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB (634 - 1965). Remembrances to the Cathedral Restoration and Waterloo Village and Revitalization Projects would be appreciated by the family.

Melanson, Sarah A. … It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Sarah “Aurore” Aurora Melanson of Saint John, NB which occurred on Monday, August 4, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on August 31, 1923 in Moncton she was a daughter of the late Pheleas and Marie (Allain) Melanson. She was employed for 20 years at Browns Box Company and several years at MRA’s until her retirement. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church. She is survived by one brother, Alban “Abby” Melanson (Barb) and one sister, Rose Horgan both of Saint John; sister - in - law, Alma Melanson of Lower Sackville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Leonard, Alderic, Aurele “Mike”; two sisters, Edna and Helena; one brother - in - law, Jerome Horgan; one sister - in - law, Ruth Melanson.

Carol A. Simon
The death of Carol A. Simon, wife of Dr. Louis M. Simon, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, June 4, 2010. Mrs. Simon was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Charles A.. and Agnes Z. (LaRiviere) Keating.
She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls High School and New Brunswick Teachers' College. She had worked in the offices of Dr. Michael Keating and Dr. Michael Simon for many years. She enjoyed traveling extensively with Louie, but her greatest enjoyment was being at the cottage with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Dr. Michael (Anne) of Saint John, David (Karen) of Saint John, John (Kellie) of Quispamsis, Scott of Saint John, and Mark (Susie) of Hampton; one daughter, Cathy (Ian) Wilson of Saint John; three brothers, Rev. Brian Keating, C.S.C., Dr. Michael (Jeannie) Keating, and Terry Keating, all of Saint John; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sophie M. Hansen
HANSEN - the death of Sophie M. Hansen, widow of Ralph W. F. Hansen, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Mrs. Hansen was born in St. Louis, P.E.I., a daughter of the late Emmanuel and Evangeline (Arsenault) Allain, and had lived the greater part of her life in Saint John, where she had been employed with New System Laundry, General Bakeries, and later with T. S. Simms for 17 years until her retirement in 1986. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Gerard Allain; and two sisters, Rita Moser, and Dora Allain. She is survived by one son, Daniel (Diane) Hansen of Moncton; one daughter, Geraldine (Grant) Tilly of Grand Bay - Westfield; two brothers, Frederick and Francis Allain, both of St. Louis, P.E.I.; three sisters, Margaret Doucett of St. Louis, P.E.I., Lorraine (Clayton) Boudreau of Keswick, N.B., and Mary Allain of St. Louis, P.E.I.; 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Joan) Tilly, Tracey (Mark) Cormier, and Scott, Todd, and Troy "Mike" Hansen; 12 great - grandchildren, Emma Cormier, Lauren Tilly, Brandon, Chelsea, April, Alijah, Madelynn, Tyler, Cheyanna, Emily, Sierra, and Bella; very special friend, Geralda Doyle; and several nieces and nephews.

Susan Marjorie "Sue" Smith
SMITH - Susan Marjorie "Sue" Smith, formerly of 117 Courtenay Ave., widow of Raymond J. Smith, passed away peacefully in her 91st year on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Sue was born in saint john, a daughter of the late William and Maude (Mills) Touchbourne, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a lifelong parishioner of Stella Maris Catholic Church and throughout the years was a dedicated member of the C.W.L. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel Smith; two brothers, John and Robert Touchbourne; and two sisters, Pearl McLean and Madeleine Wright. She is survived by four sons, William (Joan) Smith of Saint john, Archibald (Mary Jane) Smith of Saint John, Albert (Barbara) Smith of Sussex, and Gordon (Mary) Smith of Dartmouth, N.S.; 17 grandchildren; several great - grandchildren; 2 special daughters, Ruby Langille and Dawn Savoy; and several nieces and nephews.

1925 - 2011
WISTED, Thomas E. - the death of Thomas Edward Wisted occurred at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Tom was born in Saint John on September 4, 1925, a son of the late Thomas E. and Viola May (McLellan) Wisted.
He had been a C.P.R. checker and was also employed with Maritime Gardens for many years. He had served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branches 14 & 69. He was a member of the Big Salmon River Angling Association and loved gardening and studying history. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rita B. Coveney, in 1992. He is survived by one son, Thomas E. (Christa) of Saint John; two daughters, Rita M. Almon (Hubert) of Barnesville, and Sharon Tremblay (Norman) of Saint John; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great - grandchildren.

REICKER, Patricia A. - the death of Patricia Ann Reicker of Grand Bay - Westfield, wife of Douglas R. Reicker, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 12, 2011, following a period of failing health. Patricia was born in Saint John on April 18, 1943, a daughter of the late J. Harold and Irene A. (McLaughlin) England. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls High School and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. Patsy nursed at various Saint John hospitals until becoming a stay - at - home Mom. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Leigh Ann (Daniel) Forbes of Saint John, Cynthia Reicker of Saint John, Kimberly Reicker of Grand Bay - Westfield, and Lindsay (Matthew) Berrigan of Halifax; two brothers, William England of Grand Bay - Westfield, and Mark (Beverly) England of Quispamsis; one grandson, Brodie Berrigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Carmen A. Jenkins
1932 - 2011
JENKINS, Carmen A. - In loving memory of a beloved mother who passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011, and joins her husband, George Jenkins, in eternal rest. Carmen was born in Baker Brook, N.B., on February 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Denis and Clauda (Nadeau) Ouellette.
She is survived by two daughters, Claire Jenkins of Fredericton, and Pauline (Michael) Price of Quispamsis; grandchildren, Christian and Alexa Robichaud of Fredericton, Justin (Caroline) and Amanda Price of Quispamsis; two sisters, Mary Ann (Raymond) Keleher of Saint John, and Therese (Herb) Roy of Newington, Conn.; two brothers, Fernand Gilles Ouellette of Quispamsis, and Enoil (Alice) Ouellette of Saint John; sisters - in - law, Alice (Mac) Ouellette and Celine Ouellette; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carmen was predeceased by her husband, George; her mother - in - law Ellen Jenkins; brothers, Rene, Armand, Marc - Emile, and Conrad; as well as sisters - in - law, Ethel (Mazerolle) Ouellette, Simone (Boudreau) Ouellette, Theresa (Legace) Ouellette; and cherished nephew Brian Ouellette.
After successfully holding various positions within both the Provincial Government (District 20 School Board - Office administrator of St. Malachy's High School) and the private sector (J.D. Irving, Logistec), Carmen added her unique sense of people and service as a guide on the Saint John Cruise Ship team, and as a volunteer for a variety of benevolent organizations and events. In conjunction with her life partner, George, she dedicated innumerable hours to the causes of the Knights of Columbus in New Brunswick.
Proud of her Brayonne heritage, Carmen was a staunch advocate of bilingualism and worked tirelessly along with the rest of the Ouellette family to promote and maintain this cultural treasure.

John J. CRAIG
1961 - 2011
CRAIG, John J. - the death of John Joseph "Jack" Craig occurred unexpectedly in Saint John on Friday, December 16, 2011. Jack was born in Saint John on August 2, 1961, and had been a self - employed painter most of his life. He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Dunn) Craig of Saint John; his father, Robert (Fran) Craig of Stouffville, Ont.; three brothers, Russell of Fredericton, Robert (Fern) of Hampton, and Ronald
(Jen) of London, Ont.; one sister, Kim Smith of Saint John; and three nieces, Erica, Rebeka, and Chelsea.
A Memorial Service was conducted at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home by Rev. Mr. Owen C. Burns. Peter MacDonald was the soloist and organist.
Numerous floral and spiritual tributes were received from relatives and friends. Donations were received to the Salvation Army.
Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date.
