ELLIS, Christina Aitken - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, Christina Aitken Ellis, born in Leith, Scotland, age 91. Predeceased by her husband James. Survived by her daughter Catherine; son John (wife Barbara); two grandsons; five granddaughters; three great-grandsons; six great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; as well as other relatives and friends. At Christina`s request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from St. Andrew`s Presbyterian Church, Queen`s Road on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with interment at the Anglican cemetery , St. Philips. A reception will follow in honor of the memory of Christina at St. David`s Church, Elizabeth Avenue at 4:00 p.m. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice.

LUCAS, Arthur (Art) - passed away after a short illness at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2004. Arthur (Art) Lucas, 69 years old. Predeceased by his wife Joan; his father Tom; mother Gladys and sister Joan, Texas. Leaving to mourn one son Barry (Rosarie); three daughters: Michelle (Gary), Connie (Anthony) and Cindi (Harold); eight grandchildren: Courtney, David, AJ, Kaitlin, Leeanne, Jarred, Joshua and special grandson Jeremy; brothers: John (Marg), Ern (Judy), Tom (Joan), Lou (Helen), Dave (Barb); sisters: Gladys Powell (Derm) and Lil Strickland (Les); also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and special friend Gilbert Button. Also leaving to mourn the staff at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home (Stella Burry Unit) who looked after Art and Loved and cared for him as their own. Predeceased by husband Cyril and brothers: Peter and Patrick Brothers. Left with fond and loving memories son: Jim (Carol), grandchildren: Tracey (Cory), Jennifer (John) Ryan, Goulds and son: Gerald (Carolann), grandchildren: Gail, Gerry, Joshua and Colin of Port Kirwan, staff and residents of Fahey`s Personal Care Home; sisters-in-law: Helen Brothers and Margaret O`Neill, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends. PIERCEY, Clotilda (nee Smith) - Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital on Feb. 7, 2004 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Joseph, sisters Hannah, Rita and Mary, and brothers Art, Jim, Pat and Jake. Leaving with many wonderful and happy memories her six children: Robert (Vi), Eileen Doucette (Nelson), Bernard, Patricia Attwood (Cecil), Ruby Donnolly (Bill), and Douglas (Sharon), 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, her sister Sarah, and brother`s Robert and Andy, and nieces, nephews and a large circle of other family and friends. She will be sadly missed and always remembered by all, especially Eileen and her family, with whom she lived for 28 years. A special thank-you to the wonderful nursing staff at 7 West, especially Tonia. Your kindness will be always remembered. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, on Feb. 7 from 7-9 p.m. and Feb. 8 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and Feb. 9 at the Sacred Heart Church in Chapel Arm from 10 a.m.-noon. SHEPPARD, Wesley L - passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander after a courageous struggle in his 81st year on January 30th, 2003 of Stag Harbour, Fogo Island. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy Collins and brother Watson. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 61 years, Edith; five sons: Manson (Sadie) of Indian Arm Pond, Wesley (Ann) of Curling, Eddison (Ann) of Stag Harbour, Frank (Hilda) of Clarenville, Fred (Martha) of Lewisporte; four daughters: Margaret-Rose Hodder (Bryce) of St. John`s, Dorcas Freake (Calvin) of Fogo, Cavell Skanes (Bob) of Gander, Maxine Donahue (Larry) of Joe Batt`s Arm; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. HEALEY, Patrick J. - Passed suddenly away, February 10, 2004, Patrick J. Healey, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Healey was a long time volunteer of the Grand Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Left to mourn loving wife and companion of 48 years, Evelyn (Rice); sons: Paddy, Bob (wife Kathryn), Glen, Conor and Paige, David (wife Kim), Sarah, Lauren. Daughters: Brenda (husband Murray), Justin, Amy Bryant, Linda, Stephen Dunn, Barb (husband Alan), Colin Fitzpatrick, Nancy (husband Kevin), Aaron Dove. Also leaving to mourn, with cherished memories are sisters: Beth, Mary (Pat) and brothers: Peter (Louise deceased), Gerald (Teresa), Francis (Nell) and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
