Left to mourn are sons Raymond (wife Rita), Burin, NL, David (wife Marion), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Barry (wife Vera), Moncton, NB, Paul (wife Monique), St. John`s, NL; daughters: May (husband Max Keats), Gander, NL, Nola (husband Robert Holloway), Clarenville, NL Grace (husband Lee Strickland), Burgeo, NL; daughters-in-law: Donna Abbott, St. John`s, Lorraine Abbott, Pool`s Cove, NL; also leaving to mourn sisters: Grace Inder, Judy Humphries, Muriel Starkes and brothers: Robert Humphries and Alfred Humphries; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. William Colbourne conducted funeral services at Faith United Church, Northern Arm on Friday, February 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the United Church cemetery , Northern Arm. ANDREWS, Meta Carol (nee Frampton) - of St. John`s. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 13, 2004, Meta Carol Andrews in her 87th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd Charles (1998). Left with fond memories, daughter Judith Brown (Howard), Fl., son Merrill (Rose Marie), loving grandchildren, James David and Paige Austin and Jeffery and Regan Andrews, precious great-grandchildren Meta, Grace, Thomas, Reed, Emily and Nora. Brother Harold Collins (Joan), special friend and caregiver Mercedes Pine, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m.-noon. A memorial service will take place on Monday, February 16, 2004 at the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to be held at a later date. DYKE, Gertie - of Eastport. Passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at the age of 87. She was buried at Eastport on February 11. She leaves to mourn her children Wilfred in Gander, Roy in Edmonton, Diane Elliott in Corner Brook, Gloria in California and Marilyn Issavian in Vancouver and four grandchildren. The family extends their sincere thanks to the caregivers and many friends who played such a strong role in making Mom`s life a full and happy one.

HIGGINS, Albert Ernest 'Ernie' - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ernie Higgins, aged 57 years. Ernie`s outgoing and fun-loving personality endeared him to many. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by friends and family alike, including wife, Bride Higgins; daughters: Amy Barrett (Adrian) and Jennifer Higgins (Phillip) and two dear granddaughters: Abigail and Isabel Barrett. Also left to mourn his loving siblings: Gladys White (Tom), Alfred (Elsie) and Don (Angie) Higgins who maintained warm ties with their beloved brother throughout his life. His many nieces and nephews will fondly remember fun times spent with their playful uncle. Also grieving Ernie`s passing are mother and father-in-law Alma and Stanley Hoffe as well as brothes-in-law Dennis and Glen Hoffe and sister-in-law Eileen O`Keefe. Ernie is predeceased by his beloved parents Annie and Albert Higgins whose memory he cherished.
