PENDER, Patrick J. - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home on Monday, December 1, 2003, Patrick J. Pender, aged 90 years. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Murrin), July 2000 and son Thomas, November 1975. Leaving to mourn sons: Joseph (Martha), Oshawa, Ontario; Francis (Marlene), Guelph, Ontario; Patrick Jr. (special friend Anne); daughters: Mary Tucker (Henry), Agnes Collins (Norm); sisters: Josephine Miller, Molly Clarke (St. Lawrence), and Agnes Saulnier, Nova Scotia; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 5, 2003, at a time to be announced from Roncalli Chapel. Predeceased by parents: Harry and Irene; brother: Harry. Passed peacefully away at the Ottawa General Hospital in Ottawa on Tuesday, September 7th, 1999, Mr. George Young in his 84th year. Mr. Young is predeceased by wife Kathleen (nee Girling) in 1986; and sister Florence in 1968. WALSH, William Joseph - Passed peacefully away , surrounded by family, at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home in Carbonear, on Monday, December 1, 2003, William Walsh of Bay de Verde in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Walsh; brothers: Mark and James; sisters: Katherine (Kate), Ethel and Gertrude; grandson: Glen and great-grandson: Kyle. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Alice of 64 years; son Mark; daughters: Margaret, Gertie (Stan) and Marina (Dave); twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. A special thank you is extended to the staff of the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home for their compassion and care during his stay and to his special friend, Sam, for all your help and companionship over the past few months. He was a man who loved to play the accordion and has so since the age of nine in many communities and functions in Bay de Verde and the surrounding areas. Over the years he has met many people and touched many lives. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Resting at Hopkins Funeral Home in Old Perlican. NOEL, M. Sybil - Passed peacefully away at St. Luke`s Home on Thursday, February 12, 2004, Sybil Noel (nee Russell), aged 85. Predeceased by her husband John W. Noel. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, sons: Leslie (Patricia), Richmond Hill, ON and Alex (Sharyn), Paradise; beloved granddaughters: Susan Wookey (Brian), Keswick, ON and Pamela Noel; cherished great-grandchildren: Nathaniel and Catherine Wookey; also leaving to mourn sister Frederica Escott; brothers-in-law: Corbin Noel (Ella), Nathaniel Noel and Alex Noel (Geraldine); nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. RAYMOND, Sharon - 1965 - 2004. Sharon Ann Raymond (nee Praski), beloved wife of Kevin Raymond of Calgary, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, after a battle with cancer at the age of 38 years. Sharon was born on July 15, 1965 in Melfort, SK. In her lifetime, Sharon has lived in places from Vancouver Island, BC to St. John`s, NF - too many to count. She loved to travel. She married
Kevin on June 21, 1986 and together they had three boys. She worked at the TD Bank but was also involved with the United Way. Sharon would describe her best vacation ever as being one she took in Antigua in the Caribbean. Her favourite song was "Pictures" by Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock. She found her biggest challenge to be keeping positive in the face of cancer. Besides her loving husband Kevin, Sharon is also survived by her sons, Tyler, Nolan and Brendan; parents Helen and Zigmund Praski; sister Laurie; brother David Praski; step-sister Tracy Boynton; brothers-in-law, Ray Bandit and Vince Muhusky; sisters-in-law, Denise Muhusky and Sandy; and mother-in-law Fay Bradley. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Don Bradley.
