SUTHERBY, Mary Anne (nee Dunne) - Passed peacefully away at Agnes Pratt Home, June 17, 2001 in her 108th year. Born in St. John`s July 29, 1893. Predeceased by her husband Robert in 1954, daughters, Gertrude & Rita (Danny), sons: Leo (Peg), Edward (Rita), Francis (Rose), Robert (Betty) and Augustus. Survived by son Brendan, daughters Joan (Edward), Mary (Pat), Patricia (Jack), 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, among them, Isobel & Mercedes who were there for her over the years as well as many friends. She was special. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday, June 20th, from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 21, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. Corpus Christi Catholic Church. VAVASOUR, Charles Victor - 84, of Tideways, Wolfville passed away June 17, 2001 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in St. John`s, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Ernest and Blanch (Dingle) Vavasour. He was a member of the Church Lads Brigade before enlisting in 1940 with the 166 Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery to serve overseas in North Africa and Italy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #56 St. John`s, Nfld.; the Travelers Association, Nfld.; and the Avalon Masonic Lodge, St. John`s, Nfld. The Anchorman Chorus and the Singing Legionnaires, of St. John`s, Nfld.; The Barbershop Chorus and The Dukes of Kent, Kentville. He is survived by his loving wife Doris Harvey (Dawe); sons: James, Carbonear, Nfld., Gerald, Windsor, NS; grandson James Charles, Texas; special niece Susan Jane, Waverley; and many more nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by sisters Ruth Johnston and Betty Oakley. Cremation has taken place. A private committal and a Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held in the St. John Anglican cemetery , Wolfville at a later date. Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville.

BURSEY, Evelyn M. (nee Oliver) - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital in Old Perlican Evelyn M. Bursey June 15, 2000. Predeceased by her loving husband Hayward. Leaving to mourn one daughter, Lois Royal (Tony); five sons: Stanley Garfield (Daphne), Leslie (Annie), Leon and Rodger. Also twelve grandchildren: Michelle, Christopher, Carolyn, Lisa, Adam, Angelina, Glenn, Michael, Chesley, Benjamin, Jason and Jordan. Also four sisters: Muriel Skinner, Leona LeGrow (Arthur), Emiline Winsor (Lawrence) and Grace Turnar (Allan); special friends: Joyce Anthony and Donna Bursey; three sisters-in-law: Edna Button, Myrtel Geurard and Hilda Bursey. CLOUSTON, Maud (Neal) - Formerly of St. John`s, Mrs. Clouston died peacefully in Montreal, Quebec on June 14, 2000, in her 105th year. Beloved wife of the late A. Roy Clouston, also from St. John`s and loving mother of Ross (Brenda Kerson) of Osprey, Florida, George (Isabel Gow Clarke) of Shawville, Quebec and Joan (Bert) Hollingsworth of Vaudreuil, Quebec. She also leaves to mourn her eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, Dorval, Quebec.

POTTLE, Matilda B. - 89, of Phoenix, passed away 5-8-00. She was born February 26, 1911 in Corney`s Cove, Newfoundland. She loved her Church and her family and was very actively involved with both. She was affectionately known as - Grandma˛ to all who knew her. Grandma Tilly was looking forward to a Happy Reunion with her family and friends.
