Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, Eva Beehan, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Thomas; parents Jack Ellis and Elizabeth Milley; sister Fanny and twin brother Chesley, Burnt Point. Leaving to mourn two precious sons Gerald (Jillian) and David (Linda); four beautiful grandchildren Chelsea, Joshua, Katie and Victoria; sisters Joyce Barter, St. John’s and Marge Brouchu, Framingham, Mass; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday July 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will take place on Tuesday July 19 at 11:00 a.m. from Wesley United Church. Morton-Dalton, Dallas On July 16, 2016, our hearts were forever broken when Dallas, a much-loved mother, wife, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center after suffering a stroke. She was 91. Predeceased by an infant son Terrence, first husband Carl (Ted) Morton, parents Norman and Emily Bastow; her sisters Betty Dooley of California, and Ruby Smart of St. John's; brother Raymond Bastow and his wife Rachael; brother Francis Bastow (Shirley), brother Norman Bastow, brothers-in-law Jack Smart, Jack Picco, and Eric Gullage. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband of 20 years, Anthony Dalton; sons: David (special daughter-in-law Daphne), Wayne (Evelyn), Carl (Terri), Greg (Margie), and her only daughter, Gail (Pat); her grandchildren: David, Sandra, Carl Jr., Tiffany, Leigh and Matthew; also 8 great-grandchildren and her grand puppies, Theia and Marley; also left to mourn are her sisters: Marguerite Kelly and Lillian Logan (Mel) of Halifax, NS; her much-loved sister, Beatrice Picco-Wadland (George), Rose Thain (Gary) and June Gullage; brother David Bastow (Joan); brothers-in-law: Milton Dalton (Marg), Hubert Dalton (Ethel), sister-in-law- Betty Dalton; and a large number of nieces and nephews in the Bastow, Morton and Dalton families. A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses on Floor 4 South B at the HSC who took such wonderful care of her while she was in hospital. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on July 17, 2016, Doris Sheppard (nee Noel), aged 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Raymond; brothers Eric and Heber; sisters in law Myrtle Noel and Judy Noel; brother in law James White. Lovingly remembered by her son Gordon (Shirley); precious pride and joy grandson David (Lisa); brother Frederick (Dorothy); sisters Marjorie Tilley (Ronald), Florida, and Shirley White; and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday July 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday July 20 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery Field of Honor. Curtis, Ingrid Ruth
Passed peacefully away on July 16, 2016 surrounded by all of her loving family in her 80th year after a brief illness, Ingrid Curtis. Predeceased by parents Jesse and George Ehlers; infant daughter; and brothers George and Eric Ehlers. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 59 years George (Pete); daughters Ingrid (David) Jeffers and Linda (Gregory) Jackman; son John (Trina); grandchildren Stephen Jeffers, Lauren (Mark) Jeffers, Jessica Jackman and Courtney Rose and Melody Curtis; sister in law Ruth Rozee (Jack-deceased); and brother in law Arthur (Mary) Curtis; nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends; especially her bridge buddies and cousins in Denmark. Ingrid was known for her many talents, fine knitting, copper enameling, embroidery, games and even video games. She also enjoyed her trips salmon fishing on the Gander River and her international cruises. Well known for her sharp wit and sense of humor; she brought joy and laughter to all she encounter. What she treasured the most was spending time with her family. A private family memorial has already taken place. Donations in Ingrid’s memory may be made to the CNIB.
Gruchy, Nanette
Passed away suddenly on July 19th, 2016, Nanette Elizabeth Gruchy (Linegar), aged 69 years. Predeceased by her father Gus (1984), mother Doris (2015), and sister Linda (2010). Leaving to mourn her “little family”: Stewart, his wife Yvonne, and her grandson Hardy, her pride and joy. Also leaving to mourn her brother Rick and his wife Marilyn; nephews Robin, Ryan, and Jesse; life time friend Brenda Steele; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will accept visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, July 21st, 2016, and Friday, July 22nd, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at 10 a.m. in The Carnell Memorial Chapel. VIVIAN, DAWNA MARIE. 1960-2016. It is with great sadness that we announce that Dawna Marie Vivian passed peacefully away on July 21, 2016. Dawna is predeceased by her husband Jim Thorpe, father Herbert Vivian and mother Jeanne Vivian. She leaves to mourn their great loss her son Lydon Thorpe, stepson Lucas Thorpe, stepmother Gladys, brothers David (Jill), Bradley, Grant (Wanda), sister Glenys (Emmanuel), stepsister Angela Courage (Dave), stepbrother John Courage (Shelly), nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends. Passed peacefully away July 21, 2016, Betsy Heneghan, aged 86. Predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Glover in 1979 and Anne Conway in 1986; and by her husband, Dr. Walter Heneghan in 1992. Leaving to mourn their children: John (Nicola) Birmingham, England; Elizabeth, Ottawa; Patrick (Helen) Keene, New Hampshire; Walter (Selina) Edmonton; Paul (Jo-Ann); Maggie (Keith Morgan); Ella (Brian Ricks); grandchildren: Rosie and Michael Heneghan; Matthew (Sarah), Andrew, Tim, Tom and Maggie Heneghan; Sasha and Kyra Heneghan Smith; Jack, Sarah and Patrick Heneghan; Patti and Anna Morgan. Also left to mourn, brothers John Lewis (Noreen) and Philip Lewis (Elizabeth) and sister Joan Sullivan, members of the Heneghan family, Ireland, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends in St. John's, Holyrood, Montreal, the United States, and Ireland. Special thank you to Dr. Andrew Hutton for his friendship and care over the years as well as to the staff at Palliative Care, Miller Centre. Loyal to family and friends, she lived a life of service, exemplified by her nursing profession, her work at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, her dedication to her church, and her commitment to volunteer activities. Predeceased by her husband Michael; granddaughter Marion Ryan; sisters: Violet Kilfoy, Bridget Kilfoy and Mary Ann Farrell; brothers: Stan Farrell, Edward Farrell, Ronald Farrell and John Farrell; brothers-in-law: Francis Ryan, Edmund Ryan, James Ryan, Rev. Fr. Kevin Ryan, Rev. Fr. William Ryan, Aiden Keough, Valentine Farrell, Leo Kilfoy, Luke Kilfoy and James Clowe; sisters-in-law: Sr. Marie Ryan, Philomena Keough, Genevieve Ryan and Anita Ryan. Leaving to mourn son, Kevin Ryan (Madonna); daughter, Maureen Ryan (Pat); her loving granddaughter and grandsons: Margaret-Anne Kavanagh (Michael), Michael Ryan (Darla Ward) and Mark Ryan; great granddaughters: Hannah Kavanagh and Heidi Kavanagh; sisters-in-law, Helen Clowe, Eleanor Ryan, Florence Farrell and Isabel Farrell; also a wide circle of other relatives and friends.
