Passed peacefully on July 23rd in his 76th year, Gerald Frances Dunn. Pre deceased by his parents Olive and Harry Dunn; brother and sister-in-law Fred and Marg Dunn; the mother of his 3 children, Bernice (Bun) Dunn, his daughter Carol and friend Tryphenia Dunn. Leaving to mourn his son Michael, daughter Bonnie, grand daughter Desiree Dunn, nieces and nephews in the Dunn family and friend Ivy Langor. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, July 24th, 2016. Predeceased by her parents Chesley and Rita Summers, sister Florence Field, brothers Chesley and Robert Summers, nephew Gary Summers, and Niece Susan Whiteway. Leaving to mourn her daughter Donna Barrett; granddaughters Alyssa and Hollie Barrett, and their father Graham; great-grandson Aydin; sister Doreen Tricco (Jack), and their family: Randy and Tina (Jennah), Greg, and Chelsie; brother Eric Summers (Yvonne) and their family: Roger and Wendy; nephews Rodney and Rickey Field and their Father Les, and George Summers; nieces Bonnie Ring, and Wanda Godden; special friends Carmel and Billy Power; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Passed away at St. Clare’s Hospital, Monday, July 25, 2016, Thomas Sparkes. Leaving with fond memories, his wife, Norma (Cave), sister-in law Diane Barnes, her husband, Jim, and nephews and nieces. Fahey, Lawrence Douglas
Left this world peacefully, Lawrence Douglas Fahey (Larry, L.D, Lar or Doug), after a long, happy and productive life. Left with broken hearts are his wife of 55 years Maureen (Doyle); children Paul (Deidre), Sean (Arlene) and Laureen Garland (Roger); grandchildren Samantha, Stephen, Liam, Lindsay, Connor, Shannon, Ryan, Andrew and Lucas; also darling great-grandchild Shayla. The Faheys are a large family. Lawrence, the second son of pre deceased parents Lawrence and Virginia Fahey. His siblings are John (Mary), Patricia (Ron Chase), California, Andrew (Sharon), Calgary, Brendan (Marilyn), Howard, and Ginny (Dave Barrett); also saddened is his best friend Phil Buckingham. Larry was a long time resident of Labrador, family first, business man, entrepreneur, volunteer and all around generous man. He will be greatly missed. Passed suddenly away on Tuesday, July 26th, 2016, our mother, our friend, Catherine Wadland, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Albert. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her six children Dan (Rosalie), Carly (Randy), Alice, Randy (Jackie), Paul (Shirley) and May (Wayne); grandchildren Kayla, Jennifer, Justin, Shane, Lynn-Marie, Randy, Justin, Andrew, Katie, Krista and Jonathan; great-grandchildren Daniel, Nathan, Noah, and Finn; sisters Margo, Liz, Patsy, Bernice and Mary; brothers Jack and Edward; special friends Bernice Finney, Alma Fudge and Jeannette Burry; as well as a large number of other family and friends. Feder, Alison Mary
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, age 93. Predeceased by her husband Herbert, parents Richard O’Reilly and Mary (nee Byrne). Leaving to mourn her son David, daughter-in-law Marcy Greene, as well as special companion Ann Griffiths. Alison cherished her 37 years of teaching English at Memorial College and University. A big thank you to Goldie and Todd Bishop for all of their kindness. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff on 7 West for their wonderful care and compassion. Briggs, Dr. Jean L.
Jean L. Briggs passed away at the age of 87 on July 27, 2016 in the company of her brother Hod and sister-in-law Mary Ann at St. Clare's Hospital. An eminent anthropologist and ardent environmentalist, Jean lived the principles of conservation of nature in her life, living simply and preserving lands for conservation. She grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and during her lifetime she lived in New Hampshire, Maine, Israel, Siberia, Alaska, Italy, and Nunavut. She was an indomitable researcher who came to the MUN Department of Anthropology in 1967 where she remained for 47 years, settling in Maddox Cove and completing a dictionary of Utkuhiksalingmiut Inuktitut - a major contribution to the preservation of the Utku language. Jean was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and received a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Society for Psychological Anthropology. Her books Never in Anger and Inuit Morality Play are highly respected in the field of anthropology. Jean was anything but ordinary, and this was reflected in everything she wrote, said, or did. In later years she enjoyed her ocean view, birds, and her friends and neighbours who would often stop in for a visit and help her out with chores. She was fond of interesting conversation, and was known for her sharp and witty emails to people she valued all over the world. She recently said that people remember what is important to them; Jean will be remembered by colleagues, former students, neighbours, and friends near and far. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Worcester Briggs and Horace Wilkinson Briggs. She is survived by her three younger siblings, Bill (Jean), Hod (Mary Ann) and Meg, as well as three generations of nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by close friends, colleagues and former students at Memorial University. Friends and colleagues may visit the family at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, July 30th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Williams, Charlie
Passed away peacefully at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on July 30th, Charlie Williams, 90 years of age. Predeceased by parents, Ida and Tom Williams, brothers Frank and Clarence. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Violet, of sixty-six years; three sons, Randy (Anne), Dave (Marie) and Geoff (Karen). As well, four grandchildren who admired and loved him immensely; Megan (Andrew Hicks), Tim, Jordan and Kyle and one great grandchild Oliver; Sister Lucy Wilson of London, Ontario. He will be missed be a large number of nieces and nephews and special nephew Bob Young; special friends Andy and Mary Churchill. Visitation from Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday August 1 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday August 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from The Carnell Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday August 3 with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request, a donation in Charlie’s memory may be made to Cochrane Street United Church, where he was a regular for his lifetime.

Passed away suddenly on July 31st, 2016 at the Heath Sciences Centre, Marilyn Watt, age 75. Predeceased by her parents Rev W. H. B Gill, and Melba Gill, and mother-in-law Gladys Pack. Leaving with fond and loving memories her loving husband of 49 years, Neil Watt; daughters Cheryl (Gerry) Kean, and Dana (Andrew) Conway; granddaughters Shawna, Kaitlyn and Courtney Kean; grandson Jayden Conway; father-in-law Walter Pack; special family friends John Shortall and Ruth Pack; and a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of 4SA and 4 NB of the Health Sciences Centre. Cremation has taken place. Thelma Flora (MacDougall) Belliveau of Elmwood Dr. Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, August 31, 2007. Born in Amherst, NS, October 28th, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Baker and Maude Almira (Black) MacDougall. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Robert) Elliott of Fredericton, NB, sons Andrew (Bonita) of Truro, NS, John (Lenora) of Dalhousie Junction, NB, Robert (Elizabeth) of Eastern Passage, NS, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sisters Norma (late Ray) Bishop of Moncton, Joan MacDonald, of Saint John, sister in law Jean MacDougall, Gertrude Belliveau, brother in law Francis Belliveau, as well a numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Andrew Leonard Belliveau, sisters Mayme Scott, Marilyn & Monty Montgomery, Yvonne & Allison Arnold, brothers Earl and Theodore, son in law Winston Huntingford. At Thelma’s request there will be no visitation prior to the memorial service to be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5th in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, Fr. Allison Carroll presiding. Reception to follow in the Garden View Reception room of the funeral home. Interment in the Shediac Road Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Health Center Foundation or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.
