O’LEARY, JAMES PETER: Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Center on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, James P. O’Leary, aged 80 years of Holyrood, formerly of Montreal. Predeceased by his eldest son James in 1997. Left with fond memories are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Cecilia (nee Healey), his two daughters: Margie (Rocco) Smeriglio, Toronto, Maureen, Holyrood, his two sons: Michael (Joanne), Germany, Patrick (Jeannie), Holyrood, his eight grandchildren: Matthew, Rocco, Tara, Caterina, Janie, Shannon, Cassie, & Patrick, his many nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation on Thursday from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 - 5 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral will take place on Saturday, August 14th, 2004 following 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian from Holy Cross Church, Holyrood. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holyrood.

COSTIGAN, CHARLES J., Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Health Science Centre on Saturday June 5th, 2004 surrounded by his loving family, Charles (Charlie) Costigan in his 79th year of Harbour Main. Predeceased by his mother and father, John and Elizabeth Costigan, sisters; Agnes, Cecilia and Mary. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife, Mary (nee Hicks), of 57 years, his children, daughters; Doreen (Tom) Clouston, St. John’s; Doris (Frank) Fleming, Lakeview; Maureen (Wilson) Flynn, Chapel’s Cove; Betty (Rick) Conway, Grand Falls-Windsor; Cecilia (Ron) Wade, Happy-Valley Goose Bay; Judy Pottle, Manuels; June Munster, Ireland; sons; Charlie, Harbour-Main and John, Toronto, and his nineteen precious grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his sisters Patricia Dalton, Harbour Main; Betty (George) Roberts, Boston, two brothers Thomas, Boston and Joseph (Debbie), Harbour Main; his brothers and sisters-in- laws, special nephew George Dalton, St. John’s, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. RYAN, MADELINE: Passed peacefully away on Friday, May 28th, 2004 at the Leonard A. Miller Palliative Care Unit, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer, Madeline Ryan, aged 83 years of Forest Field, St. Mary’s Bay. Predeceased by her sister Zita, 1976, her brother Sylvester, 1984, and her son, Joe, 1999. Leaving to mourn her precious granddaughter, Amy, her special niece Joan (Larry) Synyard and her family, St. John’s, her daughter-in-law, Peggy (George), Forest Field, sister, Laura Hearn, St. John’s, her brother, Fred (Laurence), Ontario, also a large circle of other relatives and friends including the staff and residents of Lewis’ Personal Care Home, Riverhead, St. Mary’s Bay. Resting at Enright Memorial Chapel, St. Joseph’s on Saturday May 29, 2 - 10 p.m. and Sunday, May 30, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held on Monday, May 31st, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Salmonier. WADE, MICHAEL J., (Artist, Actor, Songwriter) :It is with deep regret that we announce the peaceful passing at his home at 1 Hayward Avenue on Saturday, May, 22, 2004, of a dear father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and dear friend, Michael J. Wade, in his 59th year formerly of Avondale. Predeceased by his parents, John & Teresa Wade and his brother Richard. Left with fond and loving memories are his children; Mike (Sheri), Kim (Perry) Mahoney, Richard (Twyla), Angie (Toby) Carroll, and their mother, Betty (Jerrett) and his precious grandchildren: Shannon, Emily, and soon to be expected baby Carroll in Mass., his brothers: John, Robert, Terry (Ann), his sisters: Dottie (Darrrell) Rodway, Patsy, Elaine (Rick) Terry. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends including his many special friends in the arts community. At his request a private visitation will be held at his home in Avondale on Monday from 7 - 10 p.m. His public funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 25th, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. from Assumption Church in Avondale. Joseph Nolan, aged 93 years of Mount Carmel. Pre-deceased by his wife, Jennie, 1999, his son, Brendan, 1992.
