Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis MacWhirter announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday December 24, 2003 at the age of 73. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 48 years Olga. Daughters Denise (Kim) Grimston of Toronto, Lana (Joseph) Dicks, and Dana all of Corner Brook. Son Dennis (Diane) of Toronto. Grandchildren Damon, Denika, Shallon, Mendell, Deanna, Dennis Jr., & Shauna. Brothers Walter (Jean), Gordon (Betty), Douglas (Kay) all of Corner Brook. Sisters Mamie (Ned) Byrne of Toronto, & Eilene (Joe) Griffin of Corner Brook, & a large circle of neices, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Peter & Susan MacWhirter, Sisters Gertrude & Minnie. Funeral services will take place at Humber United Church on January 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Myrtle Yates (nee Woolridge) announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn a great loss her daughters: Kitty (Edgar) Stratton of Massey Drive, and Phyllis (Wilfred) Stratton of Massey Drive; son Albert and friend Mary Andrea of Sydney Mines; and daughter-in-law Caryl Yates of North Sydney. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kathy Tavenor of Corner Brook; Daphne (Brad) Gardner and Dion (Joelle) Stratton all of Massey Drive; Kerry (Georgia) Ezekiel, Wayne (Tracy) Ezekiel, Brian (Martha) Ezekiel, Kerry (Laurie) Yates & Nicki (Phil) Adam all of Ontario; Sherri (Mark) Aikens & Shelly Yates of British Columbia; and A.J. Yates of New Brunswick; great grandchildren: Nicole Tavenor, Kevin & Jenna Gardner & Christian Davis, Massey Drive; Keiran and Brooke Ezekiel, Aaryn and Norman Ezekiel, Ryan and Taylor Ezekiel, Kieran and Abby Yates, Ontario. Also grieving are five brothers: Maxwell of Deer Lake, Raymond (Ramona) of Corner Brook, Calvin, Vernon (Bertha) and Keith (Beverly) of Ontario; two sisters: Sadie Normore and Vi Lucas of Ontario, and a step-sister Marilyn (Bob) MacGillivery of Nova Scotia; and a large circle of family and friends. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Scott on Nevember 6, 1996 and her four month old son Kerry (1940) . Predeceased by her husband, Edward, 1985. Left with fond and loving memories are her son Vincent (Cecilia), Holyrood, her grandchildren: Patsy (Terry) Kennedy, Holyrood, Debbie (Chad) Langdon, Botwood, Junior (Bonnie) Beeso, Terry (Linda) Beeso, Holyrood, her five great-grandchildren: Jessica, Christopher, Jonathon, Brady, & Nicholas, and a circle of other relatives and friends.
