Boland, John (Jack)

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jack Boland announce his passing at his family residence on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at the age of 79. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Sheila; sons: John (Judy), Wayne (Cathy), Stephen (Judy), William (Connie) all of Curling and Glenn of Toronto; daughter Catherine (Deon) Hall of Curling; grandchildren: Terri-Lynn, Richard, Zachery and Kennedi; sisters: Gertrude in United States and Bernadette of Curling; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road today from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Parish with Father Buckle officiating. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home.

Blanchard, Edna

McIvers, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Blanchard announces her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sons: Joseph (Fern) of Cox’s Cove, & Bertrum (Jocelyn) of McIvers; daughters: Mary (Isaac) Bennett of Frenchman’s Cove, Ada White & Judy (Charles) White all of McIvers; special grandson Jason (Emily) White with whom she resided; brother, Noble Morgan of McIvers; and several grandchildren, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Thomas, daughter Katie, parents Elizabeth & John Morgan, sisters: Winnifred, Averil, Julie, Annie & Fannie and brother Gill. Visitation will take place at Epiphany Anglican Church, McIvers today from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joan Coles officiating. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, McIvers. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Rd.

Bennett, Nicholas Bertrum

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 48 years, Margaret; daughters: Michelle (Bruce) Gillett, Gail (Steve) Anderson, Gwen (Edward) Prezdnewk; sons: Kerry (Beverly), Dave (Jenne), Nicholas Jr. (Sonya), Ronald (Joanne), & Raymond; sisters: Margaret (Jack) Hackett, May (Joseph) Bourgeois, & Rita (Alphonses) O’Connell; brothers: Benjamin (Rita) & Isaac (Mary); 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents William & Mary Benoit and numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday & Wednesday, October 12 & 13, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at All Hallows Roman Catholic Church with Father Grace officiating. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benoit’s Cove. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road.

Barrett, Peggy Joy

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Peggy Barrett announces her passing at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the age of 56 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 36 years Robert; daughter: Debbie (Lenny) Benoit and Leah; son: Robert Jr. (Colette) and grandchildren Nicole and Rene; parents: Mary and Hubert Oxford of Springdale; sisters: Monda (Scott) Young of Springdale, Ruby (Bob) Murphy and Karen (Jim) Crewe all of St. John’s; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. with the funeral service on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at First Pentecostal Church, Premier Drive with Pastor Bessey officiating. Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.

Barnes, Jeanette

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jeanette Barnes announce her passing at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Ontario on January 29, 2004 at the age of 67 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Bernadine (Jack) Gouveia, Paulette Barnes, & Debbie (Kenny) Krieger; and sons: Quinton & Derrick all of Ontario; grandchildren: Angela & Steven Gouveia, Michael & Candice Barnes, & Robert & Kyle Krieger; sisters: Sheila Blanchard, Christina Payne, Delores Helegeland, Josephine Parsons & Juanita Whalen; and brothers: Bob, Peter, Larry, and Kenneth Antle. She has joined her grand-daughter Jennifer Krieger who predeceased her. Visitation will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Summerside on Saturday, January 31, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, February 1, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Father Grace officiating.
