KEEPING, William John “Bill” — 61, Black River Lake, Annapolis Valley, passed away on September 2, 2007, in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in St. John’s, NL, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Mabel Keeping. Bill worked with his father in the insurance business until his retirement in 1995. He is survived and fondly remembered by wife, Daphne; sons, Randy (Theresa), Scott (Beth), Gregory; special grandchildren, Kyle, Noel and Maggie; sister, Doreen (Wayne) Wells; brother Derek (Sally) Keeping. Cremation has taken place under the care of Serenity Cremation and Funeral services. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date. Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation, 150 Exhibition St., Kentville. The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors at Valley Regional Hospital, the VON, Ambulatory Chemotherapy Staff, especially Tanya for her guidance. MILLER, Mabel E. (D.O.B. 11-11-11) – Passed peacefully away on September 3, 2007, after a brief illness in the presence of loving family members. Predeceased by parents George and Rachel (Dicks) Miller formerly of Flat Islands, Placentia Bay, her husband Albert (July 4, 1997), daughter Jean (December 26, 1952), sons: Woodrow (November 2, 1996), David (February 7, 1997) and Jim (March 9, 2003), sister Pearl (1995), brother Gordon (Bud) (1991) . Loving mother of Laura Edna her devoted daughter, caregiver and best friend, daughter Molly (Chris) Carruthers, NS; sons: Reg (Mary), ON, Willard (Hazel); daughters-in-law: Pam and Ruth; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. We would like to thank the staff of West 1 Hoyles - Escasoni Complex for their tender loving care during her brief stay. As per her request, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at the grave side on Friday, September 7 at 1 pm from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Barrett’s Funeral Home. PEVIE, Arthur Edmond – Passed peacefully away after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease at the Sunshine Manor, Clarenville on Monday, September 3, 2007, Edmond Pevie of Come-by-Chance, aged 71 years. Predeceased by parents Edward and Rose Pevie; brother Kenneth and sister Melinda. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Thelma of 48 years; children Marilyn (Kirk Holden), Aaron and Adrian; Sherry (Barry Baker), Tiffany and Kyle; Lynette; Colin (Tara), Chantelle, Dylan and Dustin; Lisa (Jerome Mulrooney), Lauren; Jennifer (Vince Hoskins), Jacob; Tammy (Wilf Bannister), Emily, Hannah and Julia; sisters Ada (Raymond Hodder) and Hazel (late Joseph Hodder); brothers James (Frances) and Wilfred (Margaret) and a large circle of extended family and friends. ROSA BIAN, Ruby (nee Goulding) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, at the L.A. Miller Centre on Friday, September 7, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Ruby Rosa Bian, age 72 years. Predeceased by her husband Johnny, brother Gerald, brothers-in-law Renato and Lorenzo and niece Danila. Left with fond and loving memories her children: Paula, Carla Barnes (Tony), Larry (Janice), Joseph (Paula); four precious grandchildren: Justin, Scott, Stephen and Hope; brother Hubert; sisters-in-law Danila Mongiat and Leona Rosa Bian; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. WALSH, Josephine – In loving memory of Josephine Walsh, who passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander at the age of 81 yrs. Predeceased by her Husband Herbert and Grandson Ian Laing. CONSTANTINE, Florence M. — Passed peacefully away on Saturday, September 8, 2007, Florence M. Constantine. Predeceased by her sisters Gertrude Lindsay and Dorothy O’Brien, brothers Philip and John Constantine, brothers-in-law Frank Lindsay, Paul McDonald, and Patrick Dillon. Left to mourn are her sisters Mary McDonald and Helen Dillon, sisters-in-law Martha and Shirley Constantine, and brother-in-law Michael O’Brien. Also leaving to mourn many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of friends in New York City where she worked at the Bank of Montreal and lived for almost 50 years. Special thanks to staff of Cambridge Estates and the L.A.
