KEEPING, William John “Bill” — 61, Black River Lake, Annapolis Valley, passed away on September 2, 2007, in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in St. John’s, NL, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Mabel Keeping. Bill worked with his father in the insurance business until his retirement in 1995. He is survived and fondly remembered by wife, Daphne; sons, Randy (Theresa), Scott (Beth), Gregory; special grandchildren, Kyle, Noel and Maggie; sister, Doreen (Wayne) Wells; brother Derek (Sally) Keeping. Cremation has taken place under the care of Serenity Cremation and Funeral services. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date. Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation, 150 Exhibition St., Kentville. The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors at Valley Regional Hospital, the VON, Ambulatory Chemotherapy Staff, especially Tanya for her guidance. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home & Crematorium, PO Box 239, Port Williams, NS B0P 1T0.

MILLER, Mabel E. (D.O.B. 11-11-11) – Passed peacefully away on September 3, 2007, after a brief illness in the presence of loving family members. Predeceased by parents George and Rachel (Dicks) Miller formerly of Flat Islands, Placentia Bay, her husband Albert (July 4, 1997), daughter Jean (December 26, 1952), sons: Woodrow (November 2, 1996), David (February 7, 1997) and Jim (March 9, 2003), sister Pearl (1995), brother Gordon (Bud) (1991) . Loving mother of Laura Edna her devoted daughter, caregiver and best friend, daughter Molly (Chris) Carruthers, NS; sons: Reg (Mary), ON, Willard (Hazel); daughters-in-law: Pam and Ruth; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. We would like to thank the staff of West 1 Hoyles - Escasoni Complex for their tender loving care during her brief stay. As per her request, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at the grave side on Friday, September 7 at 1 pm from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Barrett’s Funeral Home. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.

PEVIE, Arthur Edmond – Passed peacefully away after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease at the Sunshine Manor, Clarenville on Monday, September 3, 2007, Edmond Pevie of Come-by-Chance, aged 71 years. Predeceased by parents Edward and Rose Pevie; brother Kenneth and sister Melinda. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Thelma of 48 years; children Marilyn (Kirk Holden), Aaron and Adrian; Sherry (Barry Baker), Tiffany and Kyle; Lynette; Colin (Tara), Chantelle, Dylan and Dustin; Lisa (Jerome Mulrooney), Lauren; Jennifer (Vince Hoskins), Jacob; Tammy (Wilf Bannister), Emily, Hannah and Julia; sisters Ada (Raymond Hodder) and Hazel (late Joseph Hodder); brothers James (Frances) and Wilfred (Margaret) and a large circle of extended family and friends. Rested at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Come-by-Chance. Funeral service held Thursday, September 6, 2007 from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Come-by-chance with interment at Come-by-chance Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Golden Journey Bus Fund.

ROSA BIAN, Ruby (nee Goulding) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, at the L.A. Miller Centre on Friday, September 7, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Ruby Rosa Bian, age 72 years. Predeceased by her husband Johnny, brother Gerald, brothers-in-law Renato and Lorenzo and niece Danila. Left with fond and loving memories her children: Paula, Carla Barnes (Tony), Larry (Janice), Joseph (Paula); four precious grandchildren: Justin, Scott, Stephen and Hope; brother Hubert; sisters-in-law Danila Mongiat and Leona Rosa Bian; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. from St. Lawrence Church, Portugal Cove. Interment to follow at the R.C. Cemetery, Bauline Line. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Daffodil House.

WALSH, Josephine – In loving memory of Josephine Walsh, who passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander at the age of 81 yrs. Predeceased by her Husband Herbert and Grandson Ian Laing. Leaving to mourn loving Daughters: Elizabeth, Marjorie, Shirley, Margaret, Marie, Linda, Debra, and Pamela; also sons: John, Joseph, Herbert, Wayne, Gerald, Glenn and Neil and all respectable family; thirty-one grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and many friends. Resting at Oram's Funeral Home, Glovertown. Funeral Service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Culls Harbour on Monday Sept. 10th. at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Culls Harbour.

CONSTANTINE, Florence M. — Passed peacefully away on Saturday, September 8, 2007, Florence M. Constantine. Predeceased by her sisters Gertrude Lindsay and Dorothy O’Brien, brothers Philip and John Constantine, brothers-in-law Frank Lindsay, Paul McDonald, and Patrick Dillon. Left to mourn are her sisters Mary McDonald and Helen Dillon, sisters-in-law Martha and Shirley Constantine, and brother-in-law Michael O’Brien. Also leaving to mourn many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of friends in New York City where she worked at the Bank of Montreal and lived for almost 50 years. Special thanks to staff of Cambridge Estates and the L.A. Miller Centre for the kindness they showed to Florence. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday, September 9 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Diabetes Association of NL or Dr. Bliss Murphy Cancer Treatment Centre.

MALONEY, Alice Sandra — Passed peacefully away on Friday September 7, 2007, age 62 years of Mount Pearl (formally of Bell Island) . Predeceased by her mother Vera and father Peter (Jack), sister Jacqueline Constance. Left with cherished memories son, Timothy, brothers William, Jeffery, Roland, Also, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home Kelligrews on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap on Tuesday September 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment in the R.C Cemetery, Harbour Main. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

MURPHY, Daniel Francis — Passed peacefully away Saturday, September 8th, 2007 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, aged 62 years. Predeceased by: father Edward; brother Dermot; and sister Alice. Leaving to mourn: mother Mary; brothers: Ed (Ruby), Jerry (Shirley); sister Maureen and their families; also leaving a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 12 noon – 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to take place on Tuesday, September 11th 2007 at 2 p.m. from St. Teresa’s Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. “Gone but not forgotten, forever in our hearts, he will be.”

ANTLE, Lydia Mae — Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, September 8, 2007, Mae Antle of Brigus, aged 98 years. Predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, parents, William & Eliza Emma LeGrow, sisters, Pricilla & Julia, brother, Issac LeGrow. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, son, Victor (Frances), daughter, Jean (James Deceased), seven grandchildren, ten Great Grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, sister, Marjorie Watts, brother, Edgar (Ada) LeGrow, sister in law, Marjorie Antle, also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus with visitation on Monday & Tuesday from 1 p.m.- 10 p.m. Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. Funeral to take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Brigus United Church with interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Brigus. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
