Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Violet “Blanche” Locke announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010 at the age of 94 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her brother; Harry Sparkes of Corner Brook, her sister; Ruby (Ross Keenan) of Oshawa, ON, special nephew; Reg Locke (Pauline Gilley), with whom she resided, sisters-in-law; Ethel Sparkes, Annie Gillingham, Marie (Willie) Anderson, brother-in-law; Willis (Rebecca) Locke, special friends; Una McCarthy, Mary & Norman George, Brian & Vivian McCarthy as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Greatly missed by her loving dog Bailey. She is predeceased by her first husband; Jim Arnold, and second husband; Chesley James (Jim) Locke, and her brother Gibson Sparkes. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday, October 4th from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 5th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Oakland United Church on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kim Waite and Rev. Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 38 years; Jackie, son; Ryan, sister; Amy (Ambrose) Poole, nephew; Joey (Nicole) Poole, great nephews; Dylan, Dayne & David, mother-in-law; Lydia Ruth as well as other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; Joseph & Emma Lundrigan, and father-in-law; Howard Ruth. Visitation will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Summerside, NL on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Summerside on Sunday, October 24th, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gladys Sophie Butt
Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Home on June 7, 2002, Gladys Sophie Butt, aged 58 years. Predeceased by her husband Roland in 1976.
Leaving to mourn three daughters: Valerie Tiller (Jeff), Brenda King (Tony), Kimberly Butt (John); four grandchildren: Matthew, Melissa, Chelsea and Jenny; brother Bramwell Young (Sandra); sisters: Brenda Warren (Ken), Glenda Evans (Howie), Sandra Sceviour (Paul); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff of the Hoyles Home for their wonderful care over the past 6 years.
Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 7-10 p.m. on Friday and from 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Funeral Service 11 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2002 from Barrett’s Chapel. Interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 31 years Clayton; also missing her tremendously everyday will be her four sons; Ian, Lance (fiancé Mandy) of Corner Brook, André (Courtney), of Alberta, and Shane of Ontario; her mother Theresa Power, sisters; Linda (Keith) Winsor, Mary (Bill) Fisher, brothers; Wayne (Cheryl) Power, Butch (Karen) Power, Stephen Power (Cindy) all of Corner Brook, nieces & nephews; Michael, Tracy. Lori, Sara, Crystal, Kyle, Jordan and Stefanie, also a very special friend Kathyrn Hibert in Germany as well as a large circle of other relatives, family and friends. She is predeceased by her father Patrick Power and her special nephew Jason Fisher.
