TIBBO, Buffet (Buff) – Passed peacefully away at the palliative care unit at the Grey Nun’s Hospital, Ed. AB. in his 78th yr. on October 7th 2007. Buff grew up in Grand Bank, NL and moved to Sherwood Park, AB. June/2004 to be close to his family. Left to mourn: wife Blanche (Emberley); son Max (Doreen) Moose Jaw, SK.; daughter Valerie (Rob) Pastushak, Sherwood Park, AB.; grandchildren Gary, Sheldon, Buffy, Jordan, Scott; sister Hannah (Bill) Welsh, Kelowna BC.; special family friends Marilyn and Will Hillier; brothers-in-law Malcolm (Hen.) Emberley, Port Perry ON.; Clarence (Diane) Emberley, Yellowknife, NWT.; sisters-in-law Bernice (Albert) Dodge, Kelligrews. NL; Hilda (Keith) Penny, Wabush, NL; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives. Buff also leaves behind many friends in Grand Bank, NL., especially his faithful buddies at Charl Breon’s “House of Commons”. Memorial service held at Salvation Army Ed. Temple, 2 pm Oct 11th. Cremation as taken place. At a later date the ashes will be taken back to Grand Bank, NL and scattered over the Coal Wharf across the street from the Tibbo homestead.

BELBIN, David Frederick (July 31, 1971-October 12, 2007) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at 4NA Health Sciences Centre after a long and valiant struggle, David F. Belbin age 36 years of Foxtrap, CBS. Left with cherished memories his beloved daughter, Samantha Rideout; loving parents, Joyce and Fred Belbin; sister, Erin Upshall (Rodney) and adored niece, Alanna; his devoted feline companion, Joey; Samantha's mother, Wanda Rideout-Williams (Keith) and her family. Also leaving to mourn special aunt, Effie McEwan; uncles, Dermont (Pearl) Driscoll, Edwin (Barbara) Belbin and Robert (Patsy) Belbin; aunt, Margaret Belbin and their families. Special friends, Jerome and Kim Breen, Keith and Heather Hickman, Rick and Jennifer Mole and their families. His Physician and friend, Dr. Mary Frances Scully. Many other relatives and friends. Resting at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Sunday, October 14th and Monday, October 15th with visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to take place from Topsail United Church 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16th . Interment at All Saint’s Anglican Cemetery, Dunn's Hill Road. In lieu of flowers donations gratefully accepted to “Samantha C. Rideout in Trust”.

BEST, Neil – Passed peacefully away at his home in Come By Chance on Saturday, October 13th, Neil Best of Come By Chance aged 79 years. Predeceased by his sister Greta and brothers Berkley and Reginald. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Mildred of 53 years; children Diane (Richard) of Fort MacMurray, Alberta, Keith (Toinette) and their son Matthew of Come By Chance, Cathy Lockyer (Dexter) and their sons Joshua and Tyler of Arnold’s Cove; sisters Anita of Whitbourne and Eleanor of Gander; brother Donald of St. John’s; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains will be resting at St. Paul’s Anglican United Church in Come By Chance. Funeral to take place on Monday, October 15th, 2007 at 2 p.m. from St. Paul’s Anglican United Church in Come By Chance with interment to follow at the Come By Chance Cemetery. In his memory, donations are accepted to St. Paul's Anglican United Church Memorial Fund.

BILLARD, Florence Ina (nee Norman) May 8, 1910 - October 13, 2007 – Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park in her 98th year, Florence Ina Billard, formerly of Cupids but long time resident of Halifax. Predeceased by her husband: John Chesley Billard (2002); sister Evelyn Norman (1990); brother William Norman (2004) and nephew Billy Norman (1959) . Left with fond and loving memories are nephews: Hubert Norman (Daphne), Roger Norman (Gail); grand nieces and grandnephews: Pamela Masterson (Alexander and Chelsea), Cherisse Norman (Julianna) Timothy, Bradley, Cheryl and Janet Norman, also a large circle of other relatives and friends including fellow residents and staff at Chancellor Park. Aunt Ina was a retired school teacher, having taught in schools in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as other Atlantic provinces. She was a longstanding member of Edgewood-Oxford United Church in Halifax. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Funeral services and interment will take place in Halifax.

BROWN, Lillian (nee Parsons) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Escasoni Complex on Friday, October 12th, 2007, Lillian Brown aged 75 years. Predeceased by her husband Douglas Brown (1993), her parents: Ralph and Annie Parsons, her son Garrett (1961) and grandson Christopher Brown. Left with fond and loving memories, her children: Sharon (Wayne Puddicombe), Doug (Mary) Brown, Sandra (Bill Scott), Ron (Isabelle) Brown, David Taylor, Ruby Janes and Dianne (Pat) Patelzick; also her grandchildren, great-grandson and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, October 15th, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Cremation to follow. Special thanks to the staff at the Escasoni Complex especially 1 East and 2 East. The kindness and compassion shown to mom went far and above, making her final days peaceful. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to the Diabetes Association.

FAGAN, Cynthia K. – Passed peacefully away on Friday, October 12, 2007, age 73 years. Predeceased by her husband the Hon. Ralph E. Fagan (1987) . Left with fond and loving memories her children: Darroch (Margaret), Keith (Tanya), Cheryl (Brian), Lisa (Glen) and Lida; grandchildren: Selina (Zachary), Joachim, Benjamin, Kaylee, Liam, James and Kelsey; also, a large circle of other family and friends. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; Monday 10-12 noon. Funeral Service in All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap, C.B.S. on Monday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road, Foxtrap. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

FRAMPTON, Mildred Ida – Passed peacefully away on October 12, 2007 at her home in Markland, NL. Mildred Ida Frampton. Left with fond memories; son Jack, daughter Ella, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters Jane and Linda, brother Carl. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Holloway's Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 15 at 2 p.m. from Trinity United Church, Blaketown. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Markland. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

GELLATELY QUIRKE, Mary Theresa (nee Walsh) – We wish to announce the passing of a wonderful wife and Mom, Mary Gellately Quirk, aged 78, of Mount Pearl who passed away on October 12, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre. She will be dearly missed by her husband Frank who she has enjoyed many loving years with and by both of their families. Predeceased by her husband William P. Gellately (1991) and her daughter Loretta (1964) . Remembering her with love are their children Wendy and Trevor Andres, Bruce and Robbi Gellately, Mary and Darrell Clarke, Heather and Jim Hopkins, Ann Marie and Jim Clarke, Patsy and Will Durdle, Rita and Phil Stead, Ginny and Gerry Soulliere, Paul and Jean Quirk, Derrick and Madonna Quirk, Gerard and Joanne Quirk, Frank and Debbie Quirk, and their many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her a large family including her stepmother Catherine Walsh, Henry and Orla Walsh, Theresa Walsh, Kay and Blondie Hefford, Joan and Louie Wilson, Sr. Doris Walsh, Jean and Gerry Lanthier, Rick and Colleen Walsh, Ann and Gus Pumphrey, Leonard and Janet Walsh, Lawrence and Cathy Walsh, Mike Walsh, Betty French, Glad Gellately, Steve and Josephine Gellately and Jack and Gert Gellately and families. She will be missed greatly by her many dear friends and the “crowd at Mahers, ” she had hoped to get there one last time for a night of singing and guitars but told us that Mahers had moved just before she passed. Though they are too numerous to mention them all, we would like to acknowledge the friendships of Tom, Carrie, Meta, Mike, Les and Fran, Edgar, Anita and Pat, Jim, Dot, Muriel, Harry, Pearl, Mildred, Peggy, Valerie and Weldon, and Marilyn (RN) and families. Special thanks to Dr. Keeping, Dr. Gardiner and Dr. Tompkins, and especially Dr. Zulfigar of the cancer clinic who was so kind in his manner and giving of his time. Due to severe allergies, only artificial flowers can be used, however, a donation to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic would be gratefully accepted. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday, October 14th and Monday October 15th from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, October 16th, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of the World Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
