SELLARS, Marion – Passed peacefully away on October 1, 2007, at the Health Sciences Centre, Marion Sellars, age 89 years. Predeceased by spouse Gordon (1993), brother Richard Randell, step-brother Robert Randell, stepsister Doris Whelan. Leaving to mourn her daughter Cynthia Murrin and husband Ches; two grandchildren: Paul Murrin (Debbie) of Chilliwack, B.C., Jennifer Hall (Frank) of Chelsea, Q.C.; three great-grandchildren: Shannon and Joshua Hall and Liam Gordon Murrin; two step-sisters: Jean Sooley and Phyllis Miller, nieces, nephews and life time friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, October 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, October 4th at 2 p.m. from St. James United Church. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. SWYERS, Millicent – Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, aged 83 years. Predeceased by husband Charlie (2003), daughter Debbie (1980), son Terry (1998) and brother Heber John (2005) . Left with loving memories, son Jim (Eliza), daughter-in-law Marjorie; grandchildren: Debra, Victoria, Lora and Jamie (Pauline); great-grandson Jordan; sister-in-law Gertie and a large circle of relatives and friends. TOBIN, Dr. Gerald Raymond (Gerry) – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Son, Brother, Partner and Friend, Gerry Tobin on October 1, 2007, at Grand Falls-Winsor, at the age of 41. He was predeceased by his father Raymond. WALSH, James Francis – Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family after a long and fulfilling life, James Francis Walsh, one month short of his 92nd birthday. The last of his line. The youngest of eight children of Michael Walsh of Holyrood and Anne Royal of Job’s Cove. Retired as Chief Electrical Inspector of St. John’s City Hall. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth O’Leary (Betty) in 1980. Leaving to mourn his children: Michael in Calgary, Sharon (Brian Delaney), Holyrood, Brian (Cathy Doody), Turks and Caicos Islands, Maureen (Jim Thorne), St. John’s and Gary, St. John’s. Also left to mourn his beloved grandchildren: Tina Walsh, Deklyn Walsh, Justin Seaward, Jeremy Seaward, Mary Beth Delaney, Jennifer Walsh, Steven Walsh, Patrick Walsh, Joseph Thorne and Elizabeth Thorne. ADAMS, John Ross – Passed peacefully away at his residence at Cambridge Estates, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, Ross Adams, age 93 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Ethel in 2005. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories, two sons: Grenfell (Carol) and David (Barbara); six grandchildren: John (Nadine), Peter (Sherry), Chris (Se-Won), Heather (Jason) and two other great-grandchildren soon to arrive; one sister, Muriel Jones in Ottawa; special family members, Deana and Tracy; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her husband, William Hickson Butler; grandson, Sean Frederick Butler. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, six sons: Charles Butler (Shirley), North Bay, Ontario, Ira Butler (Norma), Cupids, Fred Butler (Sue), Scarborough, Ontario, Harold Butler (Glenys), Brigus, Frank Butler (Diane), Cupids, William Butler (Bertha), Cupids; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister Blanche Percey; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Survived by husband Robert; sons: Darryl (Sarah) and Gary; daughter-in-law Michelle; sisters: Frances Watton, Nellie Sheppard (Ed), Daphne Pitcher (Edgar); brother Ralph Cooper (Roslyn) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 1081 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl on Thursday, October 4th from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 5th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and then on Saturday, October 6th from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the Church of the Ascension, 58 Smallwood Drive, Mount Pearl. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. POWELL, Sarah Nellie – Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on September 29, 2007, age 94. Predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Martha Ann Matchim; husband Norman; daughter Joan, sisters: Alma and Dorothy and brothers: Owen, Joseph, Maxwell and Wilfred. Nellie will live in the hearts and memories of her son, Eugene (Marjorie); daughters: Norma (Kyrl), Alma (Garfield), Patricia (Steve), Olive (Brian), Marilyn, Kaye, Yvonne (Terry); son-in-law, Peter Hoyles and sisters: Nora and Louise; sister-in-law Sadie; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral took place at the United Church at Happy Adventure on October 1st, . Interment was at the U.C. Cemetery.
