Pittman, James "Jim"

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late James “Jim” Pittman announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday December 23, 2009 at the age of 46 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Madonna (Leo), sister Sherry (Rod) Penney of Corner Brook, brother Jack (Trish Tucker) of Corner Brook, brother Terry (Diane) of New Brunswick, sister Susan (Otto) Diamond of Corner Brook, brother Bernard (Roxanne) of Corner Brook, sister Christine (Deon) Samson of River of Ponds, nieces and nephews; Troy, Jason, Christopher, Angela, Sherry-Lynn (Jason) of Halifax, Terry Woods, Otto Jr. (Allyssa), Johnathon, Michelle, Courtney, Bianca, great nieces and nephews; Destiny, Sarah, Jagger, Brooke, Jaiden. He is predeceased by his father Patrick Pittman in December 2002, brothers Paul and Peter. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road on Saturday December 26, 2009 and Sunday December 27, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday December 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral Mount Bernard Ave. with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the O’Connell Center, Corner Brook.

Allen, Shirley (Betty)

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley (Betty) Allen announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 3, 2009 in her 66th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Gerald of 47 years, sons; Chris (Shirley) and Shane (Vanessa), mother Louise Wilkinson, brother Gordon Wilkinson (Phyllis), grandchildren; Myles, Kelsey and Rachel Allen, sister-in-law Helen (Walter) Vincent, brother-in-law Aubrey, sister-in-law Phyllis Allen, special friends Marina and Cyril Bishop. She is predeceased be her father Wallace Wilkinson. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Memorial United Church in Curling with Rev. Clayton Parsons officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at Mount Patricia Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial United Church Fund.

Noseworthy, James

Deer Lake, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late James A. Noseworthy announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 26, 2009 in his 70th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children; Ann Janes of St. John’s, Jimmy (Joy) Noseworthy of Fredericton, NB, Pat (Debbie) Noseworthy of Ontario, Cathy (Jamie) McCarthy of Corner Brook, Brenda Turner & Todd Pilgrim of Fort McMurray AB, Jeanette (Glen) Gale of Deer Lake, Colleen (Jim) Felker of Brampton ON, David Noseworthy of Fort McMurray and Barry (Joanne) Noseworthy of Fredericton, NB, 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, siblings; Mary (Ray) Ivany, Beth, Gus, Harry (Ruby) Noseworthy, Eileen (Ron) Costella and sister-in-law Ruby Challan. He is predeceased by his wife Zita, parents Augustus and Annie Noseworthy, siblings; Gerald (Teresa), and Kevin, his brother-in-law Ted Lewis, sister-in-law Jean Dyke. Visitation will take place at Pritchett’s Funeral Home, Gambo on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. from St. Georges Anglican Church, Gambo with Rev. Betty Harbin officiating. Interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Hann, Annie Louise

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Louise Hann announce her passing at the O’Connell Center on Tuesday October 27, 2009 at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her family; Judy (Bud) Taylor of Corner Brook, Tom (Marlene) of St. John’s, Marilyn Hann of Ontario, June Davis (Melvin) of Corner Brook, and Terry (Lily) of Corner Brook, 14 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas, and her parents Edgar & Susan Powell. Visitation will take place on Thursday October 29, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday October 30, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road. Funeral service will take place on Saturday October 31, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Humber United Church Fund.

Watt (nee Waterman), Doris E.

Corner Brook, NL (Formerly of Twillingate, NL) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doris E. Watt announce her passing on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Interfaith Home Corner Brook at the age of 95 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Colin Watt of Halifax, Margaret Wade (Glen) of Halifax, William Watt of Calgary, James Watt (Rhona) of Corner Brook, Susan Scott-Welsh (Carl) of London, GB, her sister Florence Arklie (Angus) of Botwood, NL. She is predeceased by her parents William & Sophie Waterman of Twillingate, NL, husband Andrew Wallace Watt, daughter-in-law Sharon Watt, brother Fred Waterman, sisters; Minnie Locke, Violet (Pat), and Ruby Nichols. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday. November 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Interment will take place in Twillingate at a later date. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Interfaith Home. Special thanks to Dr. Chris Whitten for his dedication and compassion and an extra special thank you to Gerarda Butt who has always been there for all of us. Taylor, Chester Freeman

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Chester Freeman Taylor announce his passing on October 11, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children; Robert Taylor (Marion) of Lark Harbour, Donald Taylor (Dawn), Doris Cormier (Keith), Bert Taylor (Sandra), Brian Taylor (Carla) all of Corner Brook and Rod Taylor of Bishops Falls, grandsons; Jamie, Shawn, Matthew, Jonathon, Richard, Adam, Jon, Bradley, Jay, brothers; Allen and Edward. He is predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2002, daughter Peggy, infant daughter Lillian, mother Elizabeth and father Lewis, brothers Earle and Harold, sisters Doris and Joyce. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. from First United Church Park Street with Rev. Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.

Walter F. Tucker

Passed peacefully away on Thursday, July 24, 2003, at the Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, Walter F. Tucker. Retired employee of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro. Aged 74 years.
Leaving to mourn his wife Eileen (Casey); his sons: Gary and Walter Jr. (Wally) and his wife Libbie; his beloved granddaughters: Robyn and Erin Tucker; his brother Leslie R. and his wife Betty, Calgary, AB, and their children: Richard and Janet; brothers-in-law: Ron Casey (Eleanor), Bill Casey (Ann), and Jim Casey (Maureen); sisters-in-law: Carmel McDonald (Kevin), Brenda Grouchy (Bill), and Maureen Casey.
Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitation on Friday from 12noon-10pm, and on Saturday from 10am-1pm. Funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2003. Cremation to follow. Inurnment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre.
Walter’s family would like to thank his special friend Stu Winsor; Dr. Percy Crocker for his exceptional care, and the staff of the Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit for their dedicated care.

Critch, Kathleen Josephine

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kathleen Josephine Critch announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the age of 82 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Donna Ryan, son-in-law Mike Ryan, grandson Ron (Diane) Ryan of St. John’s, granddaughters; Cathy Ryan (Sheldon Hatcher) of Corner Brook, Micki Ryan (Marty Snooks) of CBS, great grandsons; Harvey Green, Matthew Green of Corner Brook, James Ryan, Aaron Ryan of St. John’s and Matthew Snooks of CBS, great granddaughters; Jillian Green of St. John’s and Erin Ryan of CBS., sisters; Madeline and Mary of Ontario and Jean of Nova Scotia as well as numerous nieces, nephews in Newfoundland and Ontario. She is predeceased by her parents Richard & Sarah Dormody, brothers; Mike Dormody & James Dormody, sisters; Nell, Theresa, Margaret, Rita, and her husband Sam Critch. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Central Funeral Home in Bishops Falls on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will take place at Sacred Heart Church Bishops Falls on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00a.m.with Father Cody officiating. Interment to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. As expression of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
