It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie Louise Bennett announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 55 years Thomas, children; Gary (Sharon Noftall), Debbie (Rick) Seward, Sandra (Alf) Targett, grandchildren; Richard & Victoria Seward, Ashley Targett & Christopher Bennett, sisters; Olive Pope, Jane (Jack) Maloney, Georgie (Clarence) Brooks, brother; Hubert (Margaret) Harris, brothers-in-law; Ron Bennett and special sister-in-law Sylvia, Clarence (Bella) Bennett and Eric Young, sisters-in-law; Francis Kelly, Ivy Bennett, Elizabeth Bennett and Marilyn (Paul) Gaudet as well as a large circle pf nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents; John & Bessie Harris, parents-in-law; John & Helen Bennett, sisters-in-law; Marie Young, Anita Harris, brothers-in-law; Leo Pope, Ernest Bennett, Shannon Bennett and Leonard Kelly. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, May 7, 2011 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 167 Country Road on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Marilyn Avery officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Redial Dialysis Unit, 4th Floor, Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Valerie Joyce Hutchings
(December 23, 1952 - May 31, 2011)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Valerie Joyce Hutchings announce her passing at Corner Brook on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the age of 58 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Reg, children: Dean (Francis), Janet (Randy); mother Bella McKay, sisters: Marie, Jacqueline and Joy; father-in-law, Clyde (Joan); brothers-in-law: Terry (Helen), Arch (Brenda), Darrell and Don (Carol) along with a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. She will be missed by one very special little puppy, Aningan. She is predeceased by her father Lloyd McKay. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday June 2, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday June 3, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Funeral service will take place at The Humber United Church, Clarence Street on Friday June 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fran Ota officiating. Cremation to follow. Eric Thomas Mercer

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Thomas Mercer announces his sudden passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the age of 72 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his two sons Brad of Bedford NS, Scott (Jennifer) of Calgary AB, former wife Ann Mercer, brothers Don, Gerald (Margaret), sisters May Goose, Sylvia (Gary) and Marina, also a circle of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by parents Thomas and Daisy Mercer, and Brother Boyd. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday September 16, 2011 form 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will take place at the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday September 17, 2011 at 11 A.M. with Reverend Marylyn Avery Officiating. Interment to follow at United Cemetery Town site . As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories children Alice (Richard), Fred (Patsy), William (Yvonne), Elizabeth (John), Jim (Yvonne), Louise (Ricky), Sam (Patsy), David (Jackie), Mary, and Juanita (Jason), brothers Walter (Carol), Robert (Shirley), and Sister Dorothy, also a large circle of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by parents Samuel & Elizabeth Jones, two children Cornelious and Donna, Sisters Alice, Mary, Providence, brothers Fred, Cornelious (Con), Billy and Lloyd. Visitation will take place at Pentecostal Church in Cox’s Cove on Sunday September 18, 2011 from the hours of 7-9 P.M. and Monday September 19, 2011 form the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will be held at the Pentecostal church in Cox’s Cove on Tuesday September 20, 2011 at 2 P.M. with Pastor William Sampson officiating. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal cemetery in Cox’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Eric Cyril Humber
(July 1, 1951 - September 15, 2011)
It is with sad and grieving hearts that the family of the late Eric Cyril Humber announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday September 15, 2011 at the age of 60 years. A courageous man who fought a brave battle against cancer but was defeated leaves a great legacy of love which will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his devoted and loving wife Mary Humber (Vincent), his two children Eric Glenn (Grace) Humber, and Erica (Heather) Humber-Shears, his three grandchildren Mitchell, Clara, and Riley. He also leaves to mourn his mother Stella Humber, Brother Fredrick (Irene) Humber, sisters Florence (Freeman) Cook, Marilyn (Sterling James) Humber, Lisa (Wade) Mayo, Shirley (Steven) Fequet, and Madonna (Al) Harvey. Mourning his loss is also the Vincent family and a large number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his father Cyril Humber. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road on Friday September 16, 2011 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and Saturday September 17, 2011 form the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service will take place on Monday Sept 19, 2011 at the St. Ambrose Anglican Church in John’s Beach at 11 A.M. with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Cremation to follow and interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Ambrose Church memorial fund.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Stephen & Lillian Payne, and Grandfather Murdock Wheeler. Funeral service will be held at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove on Monday October 17, 2011 at 2 P.M. with Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. Interment to take place at church cemetery. Park, Winnnifred (Nee Coates) - Surrounded by her loving family passes away peacefully on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at the age of 83 years after a brief illness. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Carol Rice (Boyd) with whom she lived with and her son George (Lorraine), five grandchildren Christopher (Janet), Tina (Glenn), Deanna (Michael), Jody (Edward), Bradley (Jennifer), seven great grandchildren Jonathan, Zachary, Bradey, Cheyenne, Lily, Brianna, Dustin and one great-great grandchild Ethan, her brother Harvey (Pearl), five sisters Myrtle (Gerald), Gertie, Bonnie (Overton), Olive (Ken), Josephine (Harvey), and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is predeceased by her loving husband Edgar and her brother Vic. Cremation and a private family service has taken place.
