DIDHAM, Helen (nee Barlow) - Passed peacefully away on October 04, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, Helen Didham, age 52 years. Predeceased by her first husband Ambrose Meaney and mother Jean Barlow. Left with fond and loving memories her devoted husband Charles; sons: Richard (Jaya) and Chris; daughters: Patricia (Eric), Charlene (Randy); three precious grandchildren: Andrew, Mitchell and Cristian. Lovingly remembered by father James Barlow; three brothers: Edward (Helen), Patrick (Charmaine) and Frasier; sisters: Anne (Allan), Joyce, Carol (Mike), Donna (Darrell) as well as many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special Thanks to the Medical Staff at 4NA and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. At Helen`s request, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 08, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Grace Church, Colinet with a private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Carnell`s Funeral Home.

Leaving to mourn her husband Donald Butler Sr. Sons, Donald Jr. (Mary), Andrew (Paula), Vincent (Valerie), William, and Michael (Kim). Grandchildren, Donald 3rd, Stephanie, Andrew, Alexander, Dylan, Chelsie, Krista and Melissa. Great-granddaughter Darcy. Her parents Andrew and Mary Yetman, sisters Bernadette (Hayward Martin), Mickey (Ted Young), Diane (Raymond Hennessey), Juanita (John Mercer). Brothers, Joe (Winnie), Andrew (Marie), Pat (Charmaine). Predeceased by husband Clifford and sisters Ann Badcock and Clarice Dawe. Leaving to mourn son Wayne (Frances) of Mount Pearl; daughter Elaine (Victor) Fowler of New Market, Ontario; sisters: Winnifred Thompson, Mildred Morgan, Phyllis Dawe; brother-in-law Melvin Badcock; six grandchildren: Kenneth (Golda) Ackerman, Keith (Lorna) Ackerman, Christopher Ackerman (fiancee Karen), Kara Lynn Ackerman, Derrick (Michelle) Fowler, Natalie (Kevin) Harris; three great-grandchildren: Jonah, Julianna, Victoria; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore`s Funeral Home, Clarke`s Beach. Visitation Wednesday 2-5 p.m., 7-9:30 p.m.; Thursday 10-12 noon, 2-5 p.m., 7-9:30 p.m.; Friday 10-12 noon. Predeceased by her parents Philip and Mary (Bolger) Veitch and five brothers, Edward, Cyril, James, Philip and John. Leaving to mourn her Congregation, the Sisters of Mercy; two sisters, Mae Summers, St. Patrick`s Mercy Home, Sister Mary Celine Veitch, St. Joseph`s Convent, St. John`s; sister-in-law Gertrude Veitch, Brandon, Manitoba; nephews Charles (Vicki), John (Lori), Kevin (Marie), Gerald (Maureen), Philip (Mary), Cyril (Rose), Jim (Heather), Paul (Diane) and Edward; nieces, Joan Mary Walsh, Madeline Veitch, Ann Marshall (Robert), Doreen Neary (George), Dorothy Ann Veitch, Mary Lou Simms (Ray); grandnephews and nieces, great-grandnephews and nieces and a large number of other relatives and friends. ELLARD, Peter Joseph - On the evening of Oct. 4, 2001, Peter, a devoted and caring husband, father and brother, surrounded by his loving family Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre. Peter was 57. After a long and courageous battle one journey has ended and another has begun. He now walks with the Lord and is embraced into the arms of his predeceased parents James F. Ellard (Oct. 7, 1983) and mother, Margaret M. (Kavanagh) Ellard (Oct. 9, 1998). Leaving to mourn his beloved wife Marion (Burry) of twenty-eight years and their daughters: Lori, Stephanie, Colleen and Holly. Also mourning the loss of a dear brother, James, sister-in-law Sharon and their children Kimberly and Jason. Peter will be forever in our hearts. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. After years of loyal and dedicated service at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John`s Memorial Stadium and the Hillview Lodge, Peter will be remembered by all his co-workers. Visitation at Caul`s Funeral Home, Torbay, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. A celebration of Peter`s life and Mass will take place at Holy Trinity Church, Torbay, 10:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 8, 2001. VOKEY, Mary Frances (nee Murrin) - Former owner of Vokey`s Store, Freshwater Road. Passed peacefully away at her residence on Saturday, June 21st, 2003, Mary Frances Vokey, in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her husband Azariah in 1966. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Gary, Jim and Wayne (Mary Lou), beloved grandchildren Lia Terry (Raymond), Lana Vokey (Cory), Lona Coleman (Mike), Tony Vokey, Annette Vokey (Trent), Andrew Vokey, Paul Vokey (Denise) and Dana Power (Barry). Cherished great-grandchildren Robbie and Seth Terry, Faith Ann Vokey, Michael, Nicholas and Samantha Power, brother Raymond Murrin (Dot), brother-in-law Harvey Vokey (Ellie), nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd., on Sunday from 7-9 p.m., Monday from 10 a.m.-12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-a.m.-12 noon. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 24th, 2003 at 2 p.m. from St. Thomas` Anglican Church with cremation to follow. Private interment to take place at a later date. Leaving to mourn three sisters Elizabeth with whom he resided, Lillian Dodge (Aubrey) and Kathleen Price. Also leaving to mourn Aunt Phylis Jones and nieces and nephews. She leaves to mourn her husband Pierce at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, St. John`s; three sons: Roland (wife Joan) and Wayne (wife Margo) at Grand Bank, Jeoff (wife Judy) at Riverview, New Brunswick; two daughters: Heidi Pittman (husband Rick) at St. John`s and Shanna Dee Stafford (husband Neil) at Conception Bay South; one brother, Ben Perry (wife Judy) at Badger`s Quay; one sister, Carrie Templeman (husband Gordon) at Paradise; six grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by brother Max and sister Greta. Resting at Warren`s Funeral Home today, Friday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.; on Saturday 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Grand Bank. Sorrowfully leaving to mourn his loving wife Cecile; his three treasured young boys: Joshua, John and Simon, Dad`s favourite boys in the whole world forever; brother Robert (Iris) of Gander and his sister Jean (Bern Fitzpatrick) of Bell Island. Mother-in-law LaVern McGovern of Pembroke, Ont. Brothers-in-law and sister in law Pat Balis (Ed) and Terese Ferri (Mike), Murray McGovern, Fred McGovern (Sue), Joette Waddell (Sandy), Myles McGovern (Cathy) and Louise, all of Ontario, Celeste Cowley (Jeff) of Oregon, Damian McGovern (Cathy) of Ontario, Tom McGovern (Debbie) of Oregon and Anne Bowles (Steve) of Ontario. Two aunts Muriel Hookey and Carrie Noseworthy. Numerous nieces and nephews. Loyal and trusted employees Paul Clarke, Andrew Cutler, Hector Hann, David Janes and Ron Whitty. WILLIAMS, Eric Patrick - passed away suddenly while working on his farm on his 61st birthday, September 6, 1999. He will be forever missed by his loving and devoted wife Rosemary (nee Scott); Ray (Darlene, Raylene, Hilary and Rebecca); Wanda; Crosbie (Madonna); Kelly (David); Sheila; Jodi; Scott (Cherie, Ashley, Tayler). Also leaving to mourn special nephew Terry Power. In addition, his family: Alan (Emma), John (Betty), Bill, Patricia, Ruth (Albert), Anne (Ralph), Sharon (Gale); sister-in-law Patsy Williams; in-laws: Betty and Ed Power, Dot and John Everard, Mollie and Joe O`Brien, George Scott, and John and Marg Scott. He also left an extensive network of family and friends who will never forget him. Eric worked as a farmer in the Goulds throughout his life. He was involved in a number of agricultural organizations including the Newfoundland Milk Marketing Board (Past Chairman and current member), Dairy Farmers of Canada (Director), and the Goulds Agriculture Society (President since its inception). Eric was a recipient of the Governor General`s Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada. He was also a long standing member of the St. John`s Choir and the St. Kevin`s Parish Choir. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd., Tuesday, September 7 from 1 p.m. - 10 p.m.; Wednesday, September 8 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday from St. Kevin`s Church, Goulds at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Kevin`s cemetery.
