PORTER, Isaac - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex, on Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, surrounded by his family, Isaac Porter, of Kelligrews, age 86 years 11 months. Predeceased by daughter Lizzie Rideout (August 2000). Left to mourn his beloved wife Bessie of sixty-six years; five children: Harvey (Marie), Kelligrews, Dawson Clarke (Lillian), Chamberlains, Violet Noel (Dave), St. John`s, Susan Hunt (Wade), Calgary, Gail Collins (Guy), Kelligrews; sister Rachel Tilley, Kelligrews; sisters-in-law Emma Mossman, P.E.I. and Susie Butler, Kelligrews; brothers-in-law Albert Clarke (Susie), Paradise, Cecil Newman, Paradise; son-in-law Edmund Rideout, Foxtrap; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; special neighbour and friend Carrie Haines and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Funeral to take place on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Church, Foxtrap. Interment at the Anglican cemetery, Dunn`s Hill, Foxtrap. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Prince of Orange Lodge #23, Kelligrews.

Leaving to mourn two sons: Gilbert (Marie), James (Deborah); two daughters: Gladys Johnson (Albert), Velma Boudreau (Joseph); special nephew Calvin Dalton (Celine) and special niece Shirley Savage (John); brother Robert (Evelyn); two sisters: Ruth Dalton and Clementine Frampton; sister-in-law and good friend Bertha Janes; brother-in-law Jabez Johnson (Josie); fifteen grandchildren: Tony (Susan), Christopher (Pauline), Lee (Donna), Curtis (Merida), Neal (Cindy), Verle (Karen), Gregory, Jacob, Nathalie, Jaime-Lynn, baby William, Renée, Matthew, Jonathan and Lucien; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Calvary United Church, Little Catalina at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 5. Any donations may be made to Calvary United Church. 'His hammer is quiet. He is at rest'

Gordon W.; three daughters: Diane (Michael) Thompson, Stoneycreek, ON; Kathryn (Philip) Noll, Caledonia, ON, and Susan Ethridge, Keswick, ON; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Simon, Rachel, Matthew, Rebekah, Gordon, Elizabeth and Jessica; three sisters: Carrie Sheppard, Harbour Grace South; Virginia (Clyde) Hillier, Mount Pearl; and Winnie (Joe) Thoms, Carbonear; four sisters-in-law, Mary Sheppard, Harbour Grace, Elsie Forsey, Mount Pearl, Hazel (Rendall) Wentzell, Portland Creek, and Marion (Melvin) Miller, Mount Pearl; one brother-in-law George (Audrey) Ethridge, New South Wales, Australia; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel`s Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace until 12 noon Monday, April 16. Funeral to follow at 2 p.m. from St. Peter`s Anglican Church and cemetery, Harbour Grace South. Leaving to mourn her loving husband and best friend of 40 years, Robert, daughter Lisa Chiasson, sons Glen and Dale (Lisa), beloved grandchildren Kathleen Chiasson, Ashley and Megan Rideout and their mother, Shirley, Mark Rideout and his mother Christina; brothers Bill Eddy (Shirley) of New Chelsea and George Eddy (Catherine) of Sibleys Cove; sisters-in-law Adeline Eddy of Sibleys Cove, Pamela Janes (Harold) of St. John`s, Beverly Byrd (Dennis) of St. John`s, Roma Spurrell (Cyril) of Alberta, Audrey Phipps of North Carolina, Marie Royals (John) of Connecticut; brothers-in-law Joe Rideout of Gander, Jim Dorton of North Carolina, Mac Rideout (Libby) of St. John`s, and Winston Rideout of British Columbia. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services to take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. from Bethel United Church, Sibleys Cove with interment to follow at the United Church cemetery in Sibleys Cove. Leaving to mourn his loving daughters: June (Ray Kelloway), Louise (Michael Aylward), Jane (Claude Bernard), Brenda (Leonard Clarke), Trudy (John Slade) and Marilyn (Keith Leamon); 10 beloved grandchildren; 6 cherished great-grandchildren; and one special great-great-grandchild. Also leaving to mourn his brother Patrick Dwyer; sisters: Doss Todd, Madeline Bell, Rose Auchinleck and Mary Wills; loving nephew Derm Dwyer; other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
