BURKE, Daisy B. - Passed peacefully away at the William Olster Health Centre, Brampton, Ontario on Friday, March 28, 2003, Daisy Burke of Brigus aged 62 years. Predeceased by her parents, Bertram and Isabell Roberts, son, Patrick and brother, Chesley. Leaving to mourn her husband, Gordon Alexander. Sons, John, Gary (Carmelita), William, Vincent Jr (Paula), daughters, Patricia (Thomas), Demita (Kevin Hynes), brothers, Gordon (Joyce), Reginald (Evelyn), Rupert (Hazel), Samuel (Minnie), sisters, Florence, Evelyn (Art), Lillian, Dorothy, sister-in-law, Effie Roberts, five grandchildren, Kelita, Darren, Elora, Makile, Amber, also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton`s Funeral Home, Brigus. Funeral to take place on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick`s Church, Brigus. Interment to follow in the R.C. cemetery, Brigus. Visitation Hours: Tuesday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

RICKERT, Ronald James - passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2003, Ronald James Rickert, age 72 years. Predeceased by his sister Bride; brothers: Jim and John. Leaving to mourn wife Marie; daughters: Judy Kinsella (Tommy), Kerin Aspell (Tim), Colette Barnes (Shawn); sons: Paul (Mary), Carl (Joan), Mike (Arlene), Barry (Pam). Brother Ray in Toronto; sisters: Jean, Julia, and Belle. Thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory mat be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

BUTT, Charles Raymond - passed away suddenly at his home in Clarenville in the presence of his family on 28 March 2003, Charles R. Butt, formerly of Carbonear, St. John`s and Musgravetown, Bonavista Bay, in his 86th year. Former employee of Canadian National Railways and Honorary Life Member of Musgravetown Lions Club. Predeceased by his parents, William Harvey and Charlotte Jane (Flight) Butt, brother Harry (1997), sisters Catherine (Feltham) (1992), Jane (Strong) (2001) and Louise (Pippy) (2002). Left to mourn with warm memories are his wife of 61 years, Betty (Matthews); daughters Yvonne (Peter) Godfrey and Charlene, Clarenville; grandchildren Robyn, Stratford, Ont., and Dianne, Gander; brother Edison, Seal Cove; brother-in-law Levi Matthews, Musgravetown; sisters-in-law Viola Butt, St. John`s, Barbara Saint, Louise Stead, Musgravetown, and Charlotte Newman, Florida, and a large circle of friends. Resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Lethbridge, with visitation Saturday, March 29 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, March 30 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, March 31 at 2 p.m. at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown, with interment to follow at the UC cemetery, Musgravetown. Left with loving memories are sons: Richard (Genevieve) of Gander, Dave (Janet) of Ont., Dan (Heather) of B.C., Oswald (Doreen) of Gander, Paul (Sharon) of Gander, John (Melinda) of Ont.; daughters: Brenda of Ont., Pam (Cliff) Samson of Gander, brother Oswald Anstey (Venita) of Gander; sisters: Viola Ross of Gander, Diane Anstey of Gander; fourteen Grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Stacey`s Funeral Home, Gander with visitations Monday evening 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Tuesday 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. - 12 Noon. Predeceased by her mother Rey. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are father Ole (Carol); sister Mary (Mutsuo); brothers: Ole, Peter (Carol), Tim (Rosa); mother-in-law Theresa; sister-in-law Marian; brother-in-law Joe (Denise) and their families, as well as a circle of friends. Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service at Carnell`s Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA in her memory.

SNELGROVE, Warren P. - Of Woburn, Massachusetts, USA, passed away at the Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover, Massachusetts, on Monday morning, April 7. He was 81 years of age. Born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Ambrose and the late Beatrice (LaShane) Snelgrove. Warren had lived in Lower Island Cove, Newfoundland, for ten years before coming to Woburn, Massachusetts in 1973. He is survived by one brother, Paul C. Snelgrove of Woburn, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Snelgrove of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and three nieces. In addition to his parents, Warren was predeceased by one brother, the late Robert E. Snelgrove. A graveside service will be held at the Mount Auburn cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn St., Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, April 9, at 12:00 Noon. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.

Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Loretta, his son Andrew (Lisa), two daughters Doreen (Billy) and Geraldine, his three loving grandchildren Tyler, Abigail and Emily, one brother Matt, four sisters Rita (Joe) Kerrivan, Bride (Bob) Robinson, Evelyn Smith and Mary Vinetta, also a large circle of other relatives and close friends including Tom Pittman, Terry Murray and Jose Culleton. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Sunday, March 30, 2003 from 7-10 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, March 31, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Fox Harbour. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic cemetery, Fox Harbour.

SWANSON, Margaret (Comerford) - Passed peacefully away with courage and dignity on March 28, 2003, aged 88 years, after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by her parents Anne and Richard Comerford, her brothers Bob, Bill and Harry, sisters Eleanor and Mollie (Browne). Leaving to mourn her devoted husband of 60 years, Eric, her children Brian, Eleanor and Mary, brothers-in-law Roy Swanson (Yvette) of Vancouver, Glenn Swanson (Mary) of Mississauga, her many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many dear friends and caregivers. She grew up in Hearts Content and spent most of her life in Buchans. It was a full and joyful life which she lived in her own unique way, always caring for family and friends. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road. Visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on March 30-31. Funeral Mass on April 1 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Predeceased by husband Charles, July 28, 1977; son Max, April 4, 1995; sons-in-law: Douglas Morgan, October 8, 1995 and David Gosse, October 5, 2002. Left to mourn five sons: Frank (Mary), Doug (Sheila), David (Debbie), Gerald (Ruby), Billy (Georgina); six daughters: Violet Morgan, Mary Morgan (Charles), Jean Mercer (George), Lilly Gosse, Hazel Lynch (Jack), Doris Anthony (Garfield); daughters-in-law: Barbara Bussey and Eileen Bussey; sister Rachel Fagan; brother Sam Batten; sister-in-law Marguerite Bussey; brothers-in-law: Sam Bussey and Gordon Bussey; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Funeral to take place on Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Church, Foxtrap. Interment at the Anglican cemetery, Church Road, Foxtrap. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Left to mourn - the Presentation Sisters; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-neices and great-great-nephews; other relatives and friends. Sister Camilla was born Johanna (Anna) Coady, May 12, 1901 in Hr. Grace. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth (Betsy Butler) and James (Jim) Coady; and her sisters and brothers: Mary (Mrs. Arthur Thomey), Michael (and his first and second spouses, Ellen Garland and Lucy Byrne), J. Ray Coady (and his wife Madeline Hearn), all of Hr. Grace, and Bride Elizabeth (Mrs. William Kelly) of Hr. Grace, St. John`s and Gander. Rested at Presentation Motherhouse, Cathedral Square, St. John`s. Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Friday, March 28 at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Presentation cemetery, Cathedral Square.
