Progressive Conservative MLA, Lac La Biche - St. Paul
Paul Langevin was first elected MLA for the Lac La Biche-St. Paul Constituency on June 15, 1993 and re-elected for a second term on March 11, 1997. He currently serves on the following Government committees: Chair, Ambulance Advisory and Appeal Board; Co-Chair, Ground Ambulance Services Task Force; Chair, MLA Committee on the Review of Health Region Boundaries; Chair, of the Select Standing Committee of Legislative Offices; Chair, Ombudsman Search Committee; Member, Agricultural Lease Review Committee; Chair, Forest Conservation Strategy Committee; Member, Standing Policy Committee on Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection. Gov't Rep, Petroleum Tank Management Association of Alberta Steering Committee (PTMAA); Chair, Lakeland Park Open House Panel Committee; Member, Fort George and Buckingham House Advisory Board; Member, Victoria Settlement Advisory Board; President, International French Language Parliamentarian Committee; Member, M.D. of Bonnyville #87 Structural Review Committee; Member, Private Bills Committee.
During his previous term, he also served on these committees: Member, AADAC's Mandate Review Committee; Member, Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Act Committee; Member, Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Review Committee; Member, CPP (Canada Pension Plan) Review Committee; Member, Lakeland Park Advisory Board.
Paul Langevin was raised on a farm near St. Vincent in his constituency. After working for a farm implement dealership, Paul operated Langevin Builder's Ltd., a general contracting firm for both commercial and farm construction.
He was the Mayor for the Town of St. Paul for eight years. Paul served as Chair of the following: Chamber of Commerce; Airport Commission; Economic Development Board; Hospital Board; Ambulance Board; Disaster Services; Minor Hockey; and Cathedral Catholic Parish. He also served on these boards: Handicap Association; Housing; Alberta Agricultural Development Corporation; and Agricultural Society; along with numerous volunteer roles.
Paul and his wife, Juliette live in St. Paul. They have three adult children. Their daughter, Lise and her husband, Henry have two children named David and Annick. Their twin sons are Robert and Pierre.
