Louisburg, March 24 - One of Louisburg's best known residents, Mrs. Archibald MacVicar, 79, died suddenly last night.
She was a native of Kennington Cove.
Surviving besides her husband are three daughters and five sons, among them, Mrs. P. Colloins in New Brunswick, William MacVicar in Ontario, one sister, Mrs. Baker, Halifax and one brother, Harry Bagnell, Sydney.
Mrs. Sarah McDonald

Sydney Mines, March 25 - The death of Mrs. Sarah McDonald, well known older resident of this town occurred Monday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. John A. McKinnon, Pond Road, following a brief illness.
Being 74 years of age, the late Mrs. McDonald was born on Shenacadie, C.B., the daughter of the late Daniel and Ann McNeil of that community.
During the past 39 years she had lived in Sydney Mines and during that time made many friends.
Well known and highly respected here, the deceased was a devout member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. John N. Flavin, of Roxbury, Mass.; one step daughter, Mrs. Mary McNeil of Sydney Mines, one sister, Mrs. John A. McKinnon of Sydney Mines, and two sons, Neil Daniel McDonald of Boston, Mass., and J. J. McDonald, of Sydney Mines.
Her husband, the late Daniel McDonald predeceased her by 17 years.
The funeral was held this afternoon from the home of her sister, Mrs. John A. McKinnon, with services at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, North Sydney.
Mrs. Charles O'Neil

North Sydney - May 27 - One of this town's oldest residents, Mrs. Annie O'Neil, 91, died here today at her home. Born at George's River, she came to North Sydney 60 years ago.
Her husband Charles O"Neil died 25 years ago. A son, Thomas O'Neil, lives in Cambridge, Mass.
Daniel MacKay

Sydney Mines - Daniel Alexander MacKay, who was an overma and bankhead foreman at old Florence Colliery on retirement five years ago died suddenly Tuesday in Harbor View Hospital.
He was 75.
Native of Boston, he resided at Florence 43 years.
Mr. MacKay was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines.
He was a charter member of Bras d'Or Lodge, I.O.O.F.
Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Jardine, and a nephew.
The remains are at the Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, North Sydney.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Mrs. Mary Fiander

Glace Bay - Funeral services on 23 Oct. 1963 Died in Fredericton at age of 82.
Native of Ireland Resided in Glace Bay for 55 years.
Resided with her daughter, Mrs. Dewitt Cross, Louisbourg for last year.
Widow of the late Thomas Fiander who died in 1951.
Member of St. Mary's church.
Surviving are four sons, Milton, New Brunswick; Wilbert, Seattle; Edison, South Weymouth, Mass.; Emerson, St. Catherines, Ont.; three daughters, Greta (Mrs. Cross); Gertrude (Mrs. A. Wilcox), St. Catherines, Ont.; Pearl (Mrs. Norman Bay), Brookfield.
A son Edgar, was lost while serving with the navy in 1944, and another son, Killoran, died in 1954.
Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
George Hatcher

George Hatcher, 78, North Sydney, retired fish handler, died Sunday.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Carolyn Simms, are five sons, Charles, Melvin, Norman and Vernon, North Sydney; Gordon, Sydney Mines; one daughter, Thelma (Mrs. Lyonal Daly); one sister, Mrs. Alice Porter, Newfoundland; one brother, Henry, North Sydney, and a number of grandchildren.
The body is at the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Anglican Church Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Interment in Lakeside Cemetery.

Retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Smith, Three sons, Francis, Alberta; Earl, Germany; Barry, Ontario Three daughters, Josephine ( Mrs. Lewis Holmes), Dartmouth; Patricia (Mrs. Paul Disessi), Boston; Stephanie (Mrs. Frank Murray), North Sydney and three daughters of a previous marriage, Anne (Mrs. Frank Raitz) and Mrs. Samuel Gordon, both of Toronto and Auguston Young, Saskatchewan.
Interment Aug. 1, 1967 in Holy Cross Cemetery.
