Bertha "Lois" Squires
SQUIRES, Bertha "Lois" - 81, passed away February 2, 2003.
She is survived by her sons, Barry, Randy and Roy; daughters, Susan and Sandra; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Victor; daughters, Carol and Joann.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 6, in St. Thomas Moore Church. Interment in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
Christina "Tina" Creelman-Girard
CREELMAN-GIRARD, Christina "Tina" - 33, Halifax, passed away peacefully in QEII Health Sciences Centre, February 4, 2003.
Tina was in the midst of completing her air force training in St. Jean, Que., where she had planned to pursue a career in the Canadian Air Force Some of Tina's life accomplishments included receiving her bachelor degree in education from St. Mary's University. Tina was also an avid player for the St. Mary's Women's Basketball Team for many years. Before making a career move to the Canadian Air Force, Tina was an O/S aboard the HMCS Fredericton. During this short time, Tina was able to see many beautiful places in this world. Places she always said she was grateful to have been able to see. She was the beloved daughter of William "Bill" and Marian Creelman, Halifax.
Tina will be dearly remembered by her husband, Robin Girard; sister, Carolann (Mrs. Grant Milligan), Porters Lake; brother, Darrell (Kathy) Creelman, Lower Sackville; sister, Tanya (Mrs. Paul Atkinson), Springhill; nieces, Carleigh Milligan, Chelsea Atkinson; nephew, Michael Creelman, will sadly miss their Auntie Tina. Tina is also survived by her biological mother, Elaine MacDonald and biological sister, Tanya Myra; brother, Brent Taylor; grandparents, George and Vera MacDonald; aunts, uncles; niece, Emma.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, February 7, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Burial to follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tina's memory to Canadian Cancer Society.
Evelyn Pearl Gryson
GRYSON, Evelyn Pearl - 94, Lower Sackville, died February 3, 2003, in Armview Estates. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Spurgeon and Lois (Dorey) Joudrey. She was well liked and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years, "Andy" Joseph; sister, Olive Dunn, Halifax; half-sister, Ruth LaPoint, Dartmouth; granddaughter, Mandy (Wayne) MacKinnon, Fredericton, N.B.; great-grandchildren, Alex, Emily and Suzanne; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brother, Minard.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday with funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Juanita Annette "Nita" Brown
BROWN, Juanita Annette "Nita" - 91, formerly of Halifax and Bedford, passed away peacefully in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Friday, January 31, 2003. She was the daughter of the late William and Eva (Norris) Kearns.
She was employed as a stenographer with the Halifax Harbors Board, National Sea Company and in later years in the data processing section of Sears. She was an active member of the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia for many decades. She was a life-long parishioner of St. Agnes' Church and tireless worker in the Children of Mary. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by daughter, Claire (Colin) Pottie, Bedford; son, David, Margaretsville, Kings Co.; granddaughter, Juanita C. "Nicole" Brown, Toronto; grandson, Christopher Brown, Bedford; many cousins, nieces, nephews and large extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John James "Jack" Brown; brothers, Harold, Wilfred and Gerald.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road, Halifax. Mass of the Resurrection, 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, in St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 1288 Bedford Hwy., Bedford. Cremation to follow. Interment in the spring.

Jerome G. Organ
ORGAN, Jerome G. - 43, Timberlea, passed away February 1, 2003, at home. Born in St. Albans, NF, he was a son of Janet (MacKinnon) and the late George Organ.
He was co-owner of O.K. Coatings Ltd. of Halifax. He was an avid golfer. He also loved outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and ski-dooing. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Collier); daughter, Alisha, at home; son, Jesse, at home; brothers, Brian and Gerard, both of Newfoundland; Rodney, Dartmouth; sisters, Betty Willcott, Sheila Collier, both of Newfoundland; Jean Hynes, Timberlea; Fiona Organ, Halifax.
The remains have been cremated. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd, Halifax. Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Timberlea. Interment to follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville.

Margaret Marie Savage
SAVAGE, Margaret Marie - 90, Halifax, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 30, 2003, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Popes Harbour, March 26, 1912, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Susan (Day) Abriel.
Surviving are son, Ronald (Marilyn) Eddy, Halifax; grandchildren, Brian (Sherri) Eddy, London, Ont.; Marilyn Ann McAdam, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Allison and Ashley Eddy, London, Ont.; Melissa and Jamie McAdam, Halifax; sisters, Cecilia Currie, Halifax; Betty, San Diego, Calif.; Jean (Mrs. Raymond Kew), Brockville, Ont.; Mary Parisien, Kingston, Ont.; Irene Renaud, Toronto. Margaret will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John; brothers, Kenneth, Alfred, Maxwell, Clarence, Joseph, Robert, Basil, Maurice; sister, Kathleen.
The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax.

Lester Daniel Lowry
LOWRY, Lester Daniel - 78, Dartmouth, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003, in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, Halifax, with his family at his side. Lester was born September 21, 1924, in St. Catherine's, P.E.I., and was the son of the late John and Mary (McNevin) Lowry.
He worked for many years as an accomplished carpenter, building houses in the Halifax-Dartmouth area. Lester also built homes for numerous family and friends. Lester also worked for the CNR for 33 years until his retirement in 1985. Since that time he enjoyed RV-ing, having spent many winters in Florida. Lester was an active member of Iona Presbyterian Church in Dartmouth and was a charter member of the Halifax County Shuffleboard Club.
Left to mourn are his wife, Helen (McPhee); sons, John, Dartmouth; James (Joann), Porters Lake; daughters, Valerie Lowry, Dartmouth; Beverly (George) Pond, Port Hood; grandchildren, Amy, Adam and Evan Lowry, Amanda and Melissa MacLean, Andrea and Michael Pond; stepson, Doug Barton, Vancouver; sister, Madge (Jed) Easter; nephew, Garth Easter, Norwood, Mass.; numerous cousins in Prince Edward Island, and a host of special friends.
His remains are resting in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday in Iona Presbyterian Church, 90 Lucien Dr., Dartmouth, Rev. Cynthia Chenard officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre.
