WHITFORD, Howard William - 100 years old and the last surviving member of his family. He was born in Lower Sackville and was a resident there for most of his life. He was the son of the late William and Agnes (MacDonald) Whitford. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by daughters, Phyllis (John Dill), Margaret (Harold Morash), Linda (Jimmy Foster), Barbara (Allen Hone), all of Sackville; Joan Woodland, Ellershouse; Elva Sheppard, Stewiacke; sons, Howie (Thelma), Sackville; Douglas, Marshall (Joan), Jimmy (Violet), all of Malagash; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Leola (Siteman) Whitford; an infant daughter and daughter, Anita (Stewart Kaulback). Visitation to be held in Atlantic Funeral Home, Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville today from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in St. Johns Evangelist Anglican Church, Old Sackville Road on Thursday, August 12, at 1 p.m. There will be a reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to St. Johns Evangelist Anglican Church.

WHITE, Harry Arten - 69, Bedford, died August 6, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Leslie and Ethel (Simms) White. Harry was a long-time member of Rock Church and a previous board member. He owned H White & Son and CPW Contracting. He was a hard worker. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, the former Shirley "Susie" Wournell; son, Harry Jr., Chester; daughters, Susan (Shawn) Marshall, Calgary; Lisa (Kevin) Fanning, Calgary; brother, Leslie (Jean), Bedford; sister, Margo (Bill) Johnson, California; grandchildren, Nicole, Frank, Ashley, Nicholos, Timmy; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Harriet Verge; brother, Abe. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Rock Church, 222 Sackville Dr., Pastor Ted Yuke and Pastor Dave Arthur officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Reception to follow in Rock Church.

HARE, Peter Lee - It is with deep sorrow that we, Peter's mother, father and sister, announce that our dearest son and brother passed away peacefully in his sleep at 6:30 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2004, in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII. Peter fought a very courageous battle with cancer. Peter was born 1:55 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 1959, in Halifax. Peter was the beloved son of his parents, Evelyn (Gates) and Paul Hare. He was also a special friend and brother to his sister, Paula Hare; his aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and his Costco family will miss him. He previously worked at Bargain Harold's (Bridgewater), and the Bridgewater United Church. Up until his illness, he was employed for over 10 years at Costco. He will be fondly remembered for his diverse interests and hobbies; he loved to play chess on-line at AtlanticGames.net, cards, and watching WWE Wrestling. He will be sadly missed by our companion animals, especially Pandora who loved wrestling as much as he did. Peter was a warm and generous person and he touched the lives of a great number of people. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. A heartfelt thank you and appreciation to all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Palliative Care Unit, 7A, VG Site, QEII. A very special thank-you to Peter's Costco family for all you have done. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. There will be no visitation by family request. A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville, Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. Reception for all will follow in Knox United Church, Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. No flowers at the family's request. If so desired, a donation in Peter's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), or a charity of your choice.

FULLERTON (Colp), N. Sheila Ann - 73, passed away surrounded by family in the VG Site, QEII, after a courageous battle with cancer on July 27, 2004. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. She enjoyed taking care of her family and found great joy in her grandchildren. She enjoyed her hobbies of knitting and baking, also traveling and camping. A daughter of the late Harold and Marguerite "Maggie" (Haverstock) Colp, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Herman; daughters, Karen (Elio Dolente), Bedford; Kathy (Gregory Blois), Gore; son, Kevin (Donna), Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Elisa and Michael Dolente, Courtney and Morgan Blois, and Brittany and Brooke Fullerton; sister, Thelma (late Ken) Clattenburg, Halifax; brother, Harold "Bud" and Rita Colp, Bedford; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Mary Davis and all the caring and devoted staff at the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre, chemotherapy unit, Dr. Rheume and all the wonderful staff of the oncology unit 8A, VG Site, QEII. A heartfelt thanks also to the many family, friends and neighbours who have traveled this journey with our wife, mother and grandmother. Annie Gaudet, 80, formerly of Shirley Avenue Moncton, passed away at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, on Wednesday, February 2, 2005. Born August 7, 1924, in Sheffield, England she was the daughter of the late George and Emelia (Bingham) Albert. Annie is survived by her sons; Edward, Gerry (Terri) , and Roger, grandchildren; Kim, Danny, Stacy, and Darren, great grandchildren; Noah, Sarah, Kyle, Cody, Curtis as well as several relatives in Great Britain. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 1992. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5th, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, Fr. Don Rutledge officiating. Robert Burns MacIntyre on the Cabot Trail Summer 2002
51 year old Robert Burns MacIntyre of Moncton passed away on Sunday, October 10 2004 at the Moncton Hospital following a brief and courageous battle with Cancer. A native of Sydney, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Irene (Burns) and the Late Donald MacIntyre. Most recently Robert completed a Business and Computer program at Compu College in Moncton and was employed for 13 years as a senior reporter/editor with Maritime Broadcasting Limited, which operates local radio stations CKCW and CFQM. Mr. MacIntyre spent the previous ten years as an assistant news director at CFNB radio in Fredericton, as well as working at radio stations in Bathurst, NB and Sydney, NS. Mr. MacIntyre is survived by his loving partner Kimberly Garnett, his mother Irene of Sidney, NS, three brothers; Donald (Marilyn) of Lower Sackville, NS, Charles “Chick” (Raylene) of Sydney and Gus (Chris) of Kentville, NS. He is also survived by five sisters Joan of Halifax, Mary (Malcolm) Gamble of Sydney, Irene (Eric) MacLeod of Fredericton, NB, Beverly (Jean-Claude) Berry of De La Ramee, France, and Clair (Neil) MacNeil of Sydney. Mr. MacIntyre also leaves behind 22 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Donald (1970) and his brother Doug (1996). Robert’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Moncton Hospital for their friendship and professionalism during his illness. With respect for Robert’s wishes, there will be no visitation prior to the Grave Side Memorial Service to be held on Friday, October 15, at 2:00 PM in the Serenity Nitch of Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, 1167 Salisbury Road, Moncton.
