WILLSHAW, Maude - 87, Halifax, died March 15, 2004, in Northwood Center, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Born in 1917, in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Ashford) King.
Maude moved to Halifax at an early age with her parents and siblings.
For many years, she was a housekeeper and a personal companion for a number of people in Halifax.
She is survived by a sister, Minnie Bennett, North Sydney; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister, Eunice Croke; brother, Andrew King.
Visitation will take place 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Canon Duanne Tanswell officiating.
Burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery.

NICKERSON, Mary A. - Passed away in Dartmouth General Hospital, March 16, 2004.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Matilda (Peters) Egan.
Mary will be remembered and missed by her brother, Martin and his wife Margaret (Honey) Egan, along with her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great great-niece.
She was predeceased by her husband, James; son, Lawrence; brothers, Charlie, George, Michael; sister, Alice.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth.
Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 199 Windmill Rd., Dartmouth, Father Charles Burke officiating.
Reception to follow in the church hall.
Burial to take place in Camphill Cemetery.
Family flowers only.

WOOD, Harold James - 90, Halifax, died March 12, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre.
Born in Halifax, he was the oldest son of the late James and Maria (Wightman) Wood.
He was a survivor of The Halifax Explosion.
He was a welder at the shipyards during the Second World War, and later ran his own welding business in Halifax.
He is survived by his son, Eric; daughter, Ellen; sisters, Jean King, Helen Wallace and Mildred Shatford, Hubbards.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris (Rozee); sisters, Gladys Ryan and Dorothy Lovett; brothers, John and Gordon.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax.
Burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Rev. Duanne Tanswell officiating.

FARQUHAR, Clyde Roland, C.A. - 65, passed away March 16, 2004, in the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre.
Born in Summerville, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Gordon and Helen Farquhar.
Clyde was a cadet in high school and later joined the Princess Louise Fusiliers Band.
In his 20s, he moved to Halifax and put himself through college and graduated as a Chartered Accountant in 1963.
For over 20 years, Clyde operated his own accounting practice and cherished the friendships that he had developed with his clients.
Following his retirement, he also obtained his real estate sales license and was well-known in Halifax as a real estate investor, a business in which he was still involved with until his death.
Clyde lived by a very high standard of justice for all, and was very sympathetic to the plights of the underprivileged and the physically disabled.
He was a founding member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, board member for Canadian Paraplegic Association, and was involved with other organizations including Homes for Independent Living and the MS Society.
Until recently, he remained an active member of the Farquharson Clan of Canada.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Ruth (Pineo); daughter, Lisa; sons, Greg (Stacey) and Alan; grandchildren, Shanna, Alex and Ben, all of Halifax; sister, Muriel (Bill), Brampton, Ont.; brothers, Ronald (Joan), Dartmouth; Eugene (Geraldine), Liverpool; many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by brother, Donald (Dartmouth); nephew/baby, Stephen (Liverpool).
Memorial service Friday, March 19, at 2 p.m. in Edgewood United Church, Young Street, Halifax.
Reception to follow. Visitation in Atlantic Funeral Home, Thursday, March 18, 7 to 9 p.m.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division, Canadian Paraplegic Association, Victorian Order of Nurses, or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
Leon K Lantz

LANTZ, Leon K. - 87, Halifax, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, March 4, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII.
Born in Port Williams, he was a son of the late Kempton and Ida (Meister) Lantz.
Leon served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War.
He then worked with DND in Halifax until his retirement.
He was a devoted family man who left his family with happy memories of his musical talents and inspiration from his famous walks.
Leon leaves behind to mourn his passing, his sons, Robert (Vera) Lantz, Garth (Nora) Lantz; daughter, Sandra (Wayne) Saunders; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Purdy, Eileen (Sheldon) Pineo, Doris (Garnet) Colwell.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret; brother, Kenneth.
Leon is resting in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, with visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday.
Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
