Floyd Linton Zwicker

ZWICKER, Floyd Linton - 74, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Dartmouth General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 14, 1929, in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Linton and Martha (Mason) Zwicker.

Floyd is survived by his wife, the former Joyce MacLean; sons, Ken (Eleanor), Dartmouth; Cliff (Kim), Edmonton, Alta.; stepson, Larry Hatt (Ellen), Dartmouth; sisters, Olga Hawes, Dartmouth; Ann Lynn Butler (Doug), Kentville; Dawn Mars, Maple Ridge, B.C.; brothers, Laurie (Sadie), Tangier; Maurice (Hattie), Murphy's Cove; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

His remains are resting in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth with visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 4, and where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.

Donations in Floyd's memory to Canadian Cancer Society, Dartmouth Unit, 73 Tacoma Dr., 3rd Floor, Dartmouth, NS B2W 3Y6 or a charity of choice would be appreciated.

H.F. "Fred" Watts

WATTS, H.F. "Fred" - 74, Glades Lodge, Halifax, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 31, 2003, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born October 5, 1928, in London, England, he was a son of the late Henry and Lillian (Gold) Watts, and stepmother, Charlotte (Bedell) Watts.

Fred served in the British Army and then worked with Camelsdale Laundry, Vickers Aviation, and Rose's Plumbing and Heating and came to Canada in 1969. Fred also worked with DND (ship/submarine repair) at HMC Dockyard, retiring in 1993.

Fred is survived by daughters, Ann (Claude) King, Fairview; Pauline (Murray) Doggett, Trenton, Ont.; sons, John Watts, Hatchet Lake; Martin Watts, Fairview; sisters, Margaret (Les), Iris (Frank), England; grandchildren, Lisa LeRue, Kimberly King, Terry Doggett, Tara Doggett, Adam Watts, Justin Watts; great-grandchildren, Ethan LeRue, Kayleigh Doggett; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth; sister, Lily Bedell.

Cremation has taken place. His remains are resting in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, with visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 4, where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, The Rev. Dr. Dennis Andrews officiating. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Fred's memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 5954 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax, NS B3H 1X7 would be appreciated by the family.

Sterling Cecil Rudolph

RUDOLPH, Sterling Cecil - 67, Dartmouth, passed away July 31, 2003, in Dartmouth General Hospital, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Little Liscomb, he was a son of the late Cecil and Margaret (Bezanson) Rudolph.

He was a project manager for 41 years with Steen Contractors Ltd. until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Liscomb with family. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, and watching his sons and the Blue Jays play baseball. His love for life was felt by everyone, and he was always there to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.

Sterling is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Doreen; children, Charmaine (David) Jennex; Wade (Sandra) Rudolph, Darren (Susan) Rudolph, Justin Rudolph (Maureen Tilley), all of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Dustin, Shawntelle, Jasmine; brother, Russell (Vera) Rudolph, Liscomb; sister, Anna (Gordon) Turple, Lake Charlotte; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Beulah Moser and Dorothy Mason. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 2, in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Lisomb, Rev. Dianna Brett-Frye officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or any charity. "Sterling was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him."

Edward Francis Peters

PETERS, Edward Francis - 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 28, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was presented with the distinguised award for having been the longest serving employee with Pepsi Canada having served for 45 years. Ed was an avid bowler with various city leagues for many years. He enjoyed baseball and hockey and was a faithful fan of the Mooseheads and his Maple Leafs. Since his retirement he enjoyed travelling with his wife Marie, playing bingo and spending time with his family. Ed was a son of the late Charles Peters and Charlotte Handregan.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Marie (Pinaud); stepchildren, Gary Pinaud (Judy), Darren Pinaud (Sharon), Jo-Ann MacIsaac (John-David), Pamela Davidson (Brian), Bonnie MacDonald (Bernie); nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Peters and Margaret Turner; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers, Michael, Alphonse, Joseph, Reginald, Charles and Gerald. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Celebration of Ed's life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2, in St. Catherines of Siena Parish, Bayers Road, Halifax. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

Daniel Peter "Danny" Woods

WOODS, Daniel Peter "Danny" - 44, Halifax, died of heart failure, July 30, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. He was a son of the late Clinton and Catherine Woods. Danny was a well-known Halifax icon and a much-loved member of Vernon St. Group Home.

"Special" brother to sisters, Irene Reteff (Len), Joan Sheehan (Peter), Anne Woods (Bill), Debbie Keeler (Victor); brothers, John (Barb), Keith (Margo), Michael (Sharry), Eric (Marilyn), Victor (Jane), Christopher (Maria), Warren (Beverley); loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Friday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road, Halifax.

Earl Lyndon Wisker

WISKER, Earl Lyndon P2VS3 - 74, Lower Sackville, died peacefully July 26, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Manotick, Ont., he was a son of the late Nicholas and Florence (Newby) Wisker.

He was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and served overseas for 15 years. He was employed with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission for 27 years. He had a love of animals, especially dogs and Morgan horses.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, the former Ethel MacDonald Martin; daughter, Lynda, Lower Sackville; sisters-in-law, Helen Wisker and Dolly Statham, Ottawa; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by infant sister, Laura; elder sisters, Edith Perry and Evelyn Miller; elder brother, Walter.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, funeral 1 p.m. Thursday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Cremation to follow. Burial will be held at a later date.

Family flowers only. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association.
