Rappard, Irene J.
RAPPARD, 'Penny' Irene J. - 72, of Halifax, passed away November 28, 2003, at St. Martha?s Hospital, Antigonish. Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Saint).
Penny was a former teacher at George?s School of Montreal, where she taught for many years before moving to Halifax in 1981.
She was a founding member of the Jungians Society of Halifax, and was active in the Toastmasters International of Northwood.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mr. Robert Rappard, Halifax; son, Scott (Donna); grandchildren, Matthew and Heather, all of Antigonish; brother, Peter; sisters Rose, Rita, and Barbara. She was predeceased by her sister Joan.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., from the Chapel of the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayer?s Road, Halifax, Rev. Arthur Snow officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
Family flowers only, donations may be made to a literacy program of your choice.
Margaret Francis Greene
GREENE, Margaret Francis - age 82, passed away November 28, 2003, at Northwood Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Power) Steeves.
She is survived by daughter ,Shirley (David) Meldrum; son, Gary (Nancy) Greene, all of Dartmouth; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Blair, Lester, and Raymond; sisters, Ida, Doris, Phyllis, and Ruth.
A private family service will take place. Burial will be in St. John?s Cemetery, Halifax.

Bruce Kenneth Jodrey
JODREY, Bruce Kenneth - 73, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully in Ocean View Manor, on November 28, 2003.Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late William and Dora (Ramey) Jodrey.
He was employed at Fairey Aviation for 20 years and then spent 25 years as a draftsman at DND Dockyard.
Bruce's passions were golf, bowling, swimming and walking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rita (Wells); son, Brian (Ina); daughter, Sandra Towers (Robert); granddaughters, Sara Jodrey and Christine Towers; sister, Doreen, all of Dartmouth.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, December 1, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

Shayne Elliott Coolen
COOLEN, Shayne Elliott - 45, Halifax, passed away November 26, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Barry and Rosalene (Harnish) Coolen, Dartmouth.
Shayne was raised in Fox Point, attended Acadia University, and received his bachelor of commerce from St. Mary's University, graduating in May 1993. He was employed at Canada Post for 19 years, as a Communications and Project Manager for Information Technology, working on many large projects over the years. His most recent project was planning the relocation of the regional office. Shayne was the first Certified Project Manager in Atlantic Canada for Canada Post. He will be remembered by his peers as having made a significant contribution to Canada Post, and was well-respected and highly regarded throughout the company. He enjoyed sports-his passion being ice hockey. He coached and supported both of his young sons hockey teams over the past years, and played the game himself. But his greatest love was his family. He was a truly wonderful husband, and a dedicated dad, who gave everything he had to ensure a happy home-life.
He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him, especially by his wife, Pat (Murphy), and sons, Brandel and Matthew. He is also survived by his brothers, Darren (Victoria), Todd; sister, Krista; in-laws, Jack (Andrea) Murphy, Brian (Cathy) Murphy, Joy (Doug) McDade, Stephen (Mary) Murphy, Joanne Murphy; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother- in-law, Barry.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Saturday 12 noon in , Rev. Bernard O'Neill officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Nadine, ( Shelley ) Zinck
ZINCK (Shelley), Nadine - Nadine passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on November 22, 2003, in Northwood Centre, where she had been a resident. Born in Halifax, February 16, 1946, Nadine was a daughter of Hedley Ivany and the late Christina Ivany.
Nadine leaves her daughters, Kelley Zinck (Adrian), Kerry Zinck (Chris); her sister, Helen Parker (John); grandsons, Adam, Graham and Connor; granddaughter, Angela. She is survived by the father of her children, Doug Zinck. Nadine was affected with a serious illness early in life, and during the rest of her life her main focus was her family and she took special delight in her grandchildren. Through all this adversity Nadine never lost her sense of humour and had a gift of being able to give of herself to others even in her illness. Nadine attended school in Plymouth, England, Victoria, B.C. and Halifax. She graduated from Maritime Secretarial School and worked for several years as a medical secretary. "Deanie" will be remembered by her classmates at QEH as an enthusiastic classmate and friend. She was a member of the swim team and the Year Book Committee. The YMCA was a pivotal part of her life. She took part in Twix Teen and the Model Parliament.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Debbie Blaquiere
BLAQUIERE, Debbie - 44, Timberlea, passed away November 23, 2003, at home. Born in Manitoba, she was a daughter of Richard Johnston and the late Theresa (Maximuck) Johnston.
She was a nurse up until her retirement in 1995, after which she was able to persue her passion for crafts which she was very happy to both make and give away to her family and many friends.
Surviving are her husband, Robert "Bob"; son, Rene; sisters, Heather, Carol, Sherry, all of Manitoba. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, with visitation 1 hour before the service. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
Richard Martin, CD Setterington
SETTERINGTON, Richard Martin, CD - Passed away peacefully at home Sunday, November 23, 2003, aged 68 years. Dick was born in Chatham, Ont., a son of the late Percy and Beatrice (Cornfield) Setterington.
He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 27 years, and was in several HMC Ships and naval establishments. Upon retirement from the navy he and his family moved to Bermuda, where he worked for 12 years. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Dieppe Branch 90, Waverley. Dick is fondly remembered by all those who knew him for his love of music and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Eisener), Waverley; daughter Ruth (Colin) Moran; granddaughters, Waverley and Katrina, Bermuda. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Moon, Chatham, Ont.; brothers, Joel, New Zealand; James, Windsor, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Judith Wallace.
Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, where cremation has taken place. No visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held in Waverley Legion, 1166 Rocky Lake Rd. at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating.
