Edgar Eugene Hines, 59, Inglisville, died Feb 12, 1990 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late Andrew and Olive (Murphy) (Malcom) Hines. He was employed at United Elastic, Bridgetown for 17 years.He is survived by his wife the former Bessie Sabean, a daughter Deborah Hines, Middleton; three sisters Mrs. Thelma Ward, Berwick; Vera (Mrs. Bert Veinot), Round Hill, Ella (Mrs. Charles Franks) Lawrencetown; two brothers Leslie, Falmouth Mass, Walter, Lawrencetown. He was predeceased by his stepfather, George Malcom; two brothers, Elvert and Ronald, a sister Marion. The body rested at the Warren T Roop funeral home Middleton.The funeral was held in Inglisville United Baptist Church with Dr Phillip Griffin Alwood officiating. Burial was in Whitman Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Donations may be made to Inglisville United Baptist Church of Nova Scotia Heart Fund

HINES, Walter Murray — 67, of Brickton, passed away, Thursday, September 16, 2010, in Soldiers Me­morial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Grafton, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Andrew R. and Olive (Murphy) Hines. Walter retired as a culinary en­gineer from CFB Greenwood Officers Mess. He was a member of Royal Can­adian Legion Branch #112 Lawrence­town. Walter loved the land and en­joyed farming, gardening, country music and going to jam sessions. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, the former Nita Kelley; daughter, Wanda (Joe) McGill, Inglisville; sons, Brian (Tuyet) Hines, Bedford; Elvert (Kathy) Hines, Digby; stepsons, Stuart Bentley (Cristy), Dartmouth; James Bentley (Angela) Edmonton, Alta.; sister, Vera Veinot, Arlington; half-sister, Ella (Charlie) Franks, Whitby, Ont.; grandchildren, Jessica, Tonya, Emily, Allison, Tammy, Natasha, Kevin and Nikolas; step­grandchildren, Preston, Syanne, Ava and Charlotte. He will be dearly mis­sed by his 'kids', Gus and Brandie. Be­sides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Faith 'Faye'; stepdaughter, Susan Bentley; sisters, Marion Hines and Thelma Grant; brothers, Ronald, Elvert, Floyd, Leslie and Edgar. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Septem­ber 20, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, Pastor Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Whitman Cemetery, South Williamston. By re­quest, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit or Canadian Cancer Society.

George H. Malcolm
George Henry Malcolm, 72 of East Inglisville, Annapolis County died in Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Sunday July 22.
The late Mr. Malcolm was born in East Inglisville. He was a son of Andrew and Hope (Best) Malcolm. He was a retired farmer and member of the Guide Hunter and Trapper Association.
Surviving are his wife Olive (Hines) one daughter, Ella (Mrs. Charles Franks) of Ontario, two step - daughters Mrs. Themla Ward, Cambridge and Mrs. Bert (Vera) Veinotte, Arlington. four step sons Elvert Hines and Leslie Hines of Massachusetts; Edgar Inglisville and Walter at home, one sister, Mrs. Linda Whitman, Lawrencetown, one half brother, Ernest Richardson Inglisville, one granddaughter Michelle; 14 step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
Predeceased were his parents one half brother, Austin Slauenwhite and one half sister Hazel Rhodenizer.
The funeral was directed from Warren T Roop Funeral home to the Inglisville Baptist Church where a service was conducted by Rev. Robert Shaw 2.30 p.m. Tuesday July 24th
Interment was in the Whitman Cemetery. Donations are requested to the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Middleton and Canadian Cancer Society

Leeman Leo Daurie 1949 Bridgewater Bulletin
The many friends of Leeman Leo Daurie were saddened to hear of his death which occurred at the N.S. Sanitorium, Kentville, early Wednesday evening, January 19. The deceased, beloved by all who knew him, had been a patient at the San for over two years, where he underwent several operations, with the ever sustaining hope that he would be restored to health. His sufferings at all times were borne with remarkable patience and Christain fortitude. His ready smile at all times wil live long in the hearts of many.
He was 29 years of age and was born at Walden, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Daurie. The deceased, being of fine sterling character, was a member of the United Church. The funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon from Sweeny's Undertaking Parlours, and was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Macintosh.The hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross, " a favourite of Leeman's was sung. The part of the room where the body rested had been converted into an arbor of beautiful flowers, all of which bore silent tributes of love and respect.
The deceased is survived by a sister, Bunny, widow of the late Gordon Hebb; and one brother, Milton, both of whom reside in Bridgewater.
The body was laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Murray Silver, Joe Rudolph, Billie.

AULENBACK, Olive Valerie - 87, formerly of Auburndale, passed away on December 10, 2006, in Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. Born in Baker Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Etta (Garber) Veinot. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, she was an avid gardener, and had an abiding love of children throughout her life. She is survived by her children, Phyllis (Everett) Ward, Prince George, B.C.; Betty Lou (Randall) Smith, Lower Branch; Lauren (Donna) Aulenback, Auburndale; Janet James, Dartmouth; Robert (Elizabeth) Aulenback, Auburndale; Sherri Aulenback, Auburndale; grandchildren, Susan Ward, Lynda (Lloyd) Rash, Tammy Ernst, Michelle Ernst, Andrew Aulenback, Jennifer (Tony) Gulliver, Adam Aulenback; great-grandchildren, Jason and Joshua Rash, Kaleigh and Kameron Gulliver; great great-grandchild, Izabelle Rash; sister, Betty Norwood. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Fletcher Aulenback; sisters, Ethel, Adelia, and Laura. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A private family interment will be held in Baker Settlement Cemetery, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. A heartfelt thank you to the very special caregivers at Harbour View Haven. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home Bridgewater.

Hicks, Alma Dean - 82 Pereau, Kings County, Formerly of Annapolis Royal died Thursday in Blanchard Fraser Memorial hospital, Kentville. Born in Lake Pleasant, Annapolis County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Acker) Emeno. She is survived by her husband, Carl; two sons Bert Veinot, Rond Hill and Alex Veinot, Canning, two brothers, Hector, Torbrook, Arnold, Kentville, one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Bayers, Kingston ; 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Bertram Veinot, two daughters, Winnie and Doris Rose. two sons; Reggie and Frank, three sisters Flora, Hester, and Eva; four brothers, Clifford, Edmond, Ray and Aubrey. The body is in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home Annapolis Royal, where funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. William Creighton officiating. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Annapolis County, at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or any Charity.
Mrs. Winnie Lebertha Whynot
Springfield - Mrs. Winnie Lebertha Whynot, 53 of Springfield, widow of the late Carl Whynot died on December 3, 1978.
Born in Lake Pleasant, N.S. she was the daughter of Mrs. Alma Hicks and the late Berton Veinot.
Surviving besides her mother and stepfather, Carl Hicks of Annapolis, are two daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Richard O'Neil) New Albany; Leona (Mrs. Harold Stoddard) Inglisville; two sons, James and Robert both at home; three brothers, Bert Round Hill, Frank Annapolis, Alex, Port Williams and 13 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister and a brother.
The Late Mrs. Whynot rested at Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral Services was held from Springfield Baptist Church on Wednesday Dec 6, 1978 which Lic Eric Patton officiating - Pallbearers were Mervin Mailman and John Grimm

Doris Veinot
The community of Springfield was shocked to hear of the passing of Doris, the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Veinot, on Sunday morning, April 28th, at the early age of thirteen years and eleven months. Doris had a bright and sunny disposition and was a favorite with all. She was sick only a week and hopes were held for her recovery, until a few hours before she died. She leaves to mourn their loss, her sorrowing parents, one sister, Winnie three brothers, Alex, Franklin, Burton Jr. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Springfield Baptist Church, and was conducted by the Rev. A. F. Hubley. Hymns sung were "There is a Land that is Fairer than Day " " What a Friend We have in Jesus " " Jewels". The floral offerings were sent by Mr. and Mrs. Grimm, Udvilla, Pearl, Eileen and Fletcher Varner, Hilda and Emily Wile, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sproule, Lily and Family, Shirley and Laverne Wile, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wile, Gertie Acker, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Charlton, Mr. and Mrs. Calab Acker, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Burgoyne, Teacher and pupils Stanbourne school, Teacher and pupils Lake Pleasant school.

Frank Clarence Veinot - Lequille, Annapolis County
Frank Clarence Veinot 54 of Lequille died Wednesday in New Minas.
Born in Lake Pleasant, he was a son of the former Alma Emeneau and the late Bertram Veinot.
Besides his mother, he is survived by five daughters, Doris, (Mrs. Cecil Millett), New Minas; Ann (Mrs. Marty Elliott) Tiverton; Susan (Mrs. Timothy Lewis), Parkers Cove; Jean Labrador, Princton, Lorie Halifax, a son Frank Jr, Victoria Beach, two brothers, Alec, Canning, Bert, Round Hill, four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Winnie and Doris, and a brother Reginald.
The body is in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home Middleton, where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating, with burial in Springfield Cemetery. Donations may be made to Kings County Red Cross or the Canadian Cancer Society

VEINOT, Harry Alexander "Alex" - 73, Pereau, Kings Co., passed away peacefully Saturday, February 10, 2007, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Ohio (Lake Pleasant), Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Bertram and Alma (Emeneau) Veinot. He was initially employed with Nova Scotia Power in Nictaux and then worked for the poultry division of Archibald Farms Limited for 26 years, retiring in 1980 due to ill health. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Dorothy Stoddart; daughters, Diane (David) Fuller, Blomidon; Gail (Lenny) Barkhouse, Scott's Bay Road; Patricia (Wendell) Brewster, Centreville; son, Ivan (Doreen), Inglisville, Annapolis Co.; grandson raised by Alex and Dorothy, Chris (Jasmina), Halifax; nine additional grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by sisters, Winnifred Whynott and Doris Veinott; brothers, Bertram, Frank and Reginald; grandsons, Tyler and Ryan. Visitation will be held from 3-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, Rev. Derek Langille officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Pereau Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.

GORE, Allan Roger - 42, New Minas, passed away Monday, August 27, 2007, at home. Born in Toronto, he was a son of Darrell Kilmister, Toronto, and Linda (John) Conway, Cornwallis, Digby Co. He was also the stepson of Robert Gore, Halifax. He had been employed with the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board and loved playing his guitar, music and fishing, especially with his stepfather. Allan was a sensitive and caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Heather Oakley, Aylesford; special friend, Gail Dodge, New Minas; daughter, Chelsey Stailing, Round Hill, Annapolis Co.; brothers, Michael (Krista) Gore, Timberlea; Steven Kilmister, Digby; half-sister, Barbara Lynn (Jason) Brushett, Hammonds Plains; several other half-siblings; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family members. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 30, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 31, Rev. Gerald Zinck officiating. An additional funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 31, in Bear River United Baptist Church, Pastor Fred Bigelow officiating. Burial will take place in Sulis Cemetery, Smith's Cove, Digby Co. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.

STAILING, Florence Jane - 85, Round Hill, Annapolis Co., died April 25, 1998, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Milford, she was a daughter of the late James and Bessie Corbett (Orde) Orde. She ran a grocery store in Graywood for many years. She was a member of Graywood Cemetery Committee. She enjoyed playing cards and spending summers at the lake. In her younger years, she was the leader of Graywood Church Youth Group. Surviving are sons, Douglas, Richard, Round Hill; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Ray, Donald; brothers, Roy, Cecil, Ray; sisters, Aletha, Vera, Mildred, Jean, Attie. Visitation 7-9 P.M. today, funeral 2 P.M. Monday both in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Burial in Graywood Community Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or Annapolis West Health Foundation.
