STAILING, Douglas Robert - 54, Greywood, Annapolis Co., died August 13, 1999, in Annapolis Community Health Center, Annapolis Royal. Born in Annapolis Royal, he was a son of the late Robert and Florence (Orde) Stailing. Surviving are his common-law wife, Irene Rafuse; daughter, Tammy Foley, Port Wade; brother, Richard, Round Hill; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Ray, Donald. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, funeral 2 p.m. Monday, both in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, Pastor Tom Wallace officiating. Burial in Greywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at Annapolis Community Health Center or Canadian Cancer Society.

Mrs. Barbara Veinot 1949
The death of Mrs. Barbara Veinot, 77, widow of Richard Veinot, occurred at her home in New Burn, October 5. She was born at Upper Northfield, and was the daughter of Lyman MacKay and Abiah Barkhouse MacKay, and had spent her married life in New Burn.Surviving are four daughters and six sons, (Princetta) Mrs. Stanley Newman in the United States; (Eunice) Mrs. Benjamin Hirtle, Oakland; (Sarah) Mrs. Sydney Greek, Lunenburg; (Nellie) Mrs. Perry Veinot, Union Square; Hibbert and Albert, New Burn; Solomon, Oakland; Seaforth, Sweetland; Joseph, Blockhouse; and Bertram, Maine.
Funeral services were held in the New Burn Anglican Church, October 7, conducted by the rector, Rev. W.R. Martell, New Germany. Burial was made in the New Burn Cemetery.

Richard Veinot 1929 Bridgewater Bulletin
Richard Veinot, a life-long resident of New Burne, passed away at his home this morning at the age of 62, following a prolonged illness.
He is survived by his wife, who before marriage was Miss Barbara MacKay, of Northfield; and by six sons and five daughters. The sons are: Solomon of Sweetland; Bertram of New York; and Seaforth, Joseph, Hibbert, and Albert,
all at home; and the daughters are: Princetta, in the United States; Eunice, wife of Benjamin Hirtle, Oakland; Maud, wife of Earnest Hiltz and Sarah, wife of Sidney Greek, both of Lunenburg; and Miss Nellie, at home.
In religion he was a member of the Church of England and the funeral service on Saturday afternoon was conducted by Rev. E.P. Brown, with interment in the cemetery at New Burne.

VEINOTTE - George Eddy - 74, Clearland, Lunenburg County, died January 1, 1993, at home. Born in Upper Cornwall, he was the son of the late Aaron and Seretha (Whynot) Veinotte. He was a retired employee of Lunenburg Industrial foundry and Engineering. He is survived by his wife, the former Viola Tanner; seven daughters, Verlene ( Mrs. Richard Veinotte), Clearland; Leolia ( Mrs. Clifford Emino), Springfield; Elizabeth(Mrs. Darrell Corkum), Middle Cornwall, Lunenburg County; Gloria Veinotte, Verdun, Que.; Heather (Mrs. Roger Robar), Chelsea, Lunenburg County; Veronica ( Mrs. Murray Pierce), Blockhouse, Lunenburg County, Janine ( Mrs. Wayne Levy), Bridgetown, Annapolis County, three sons, Bernard, Clearland, Rodney, Rose bay, Lunenburg County, Kevin, Martins Point, Lunenburg county, sister, Ellen Veinotte, Oakhill, Lunenburg County; brother, Gordon, Oakhill, 26 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a niece; three nephews. He was predeceased by three daughters, Janice; infants, Carol and Donna; three sons, Wayne, infants, Wendell and Kirk; infant sister, Eva; three grandchildren. The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral will be 2 PM today in the United Baptist Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Fred Snyder officiating, assisted by Rev. Cleveland Pierce. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Clearland. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, United Baptist Church, Mahone bay or Hillside Cemetery.

WARD, Elwood Parker - 70, Auburn, Kings County, died May 1, 1993, in Camp Hill Medical Centre. Born in Nicholsville, Kings County, he was a son of Harold Ward, Kentville, and the late Ethel (Beck) Ward. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal Canadian Army. He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Hines, Berwick; son, Lawrence (Larry), Red Deer, Alta.; two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Rodney Ritchie), Auburn; Carol Wambolt, Berwick; brother, Gerald, Auburn; sister, Helen Acker, Bonny River, N.B.; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by an infant son, Ronald Wendall; sister, Kathleen. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, where funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Gordon Walker officiating. Burial will be in Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity.

Robert Allen Coleman
Friday, November 16, 1934 - Monday, May 14, 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our brother Robert Allen Coleman on Monday, May 14th, 2007 at The Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born on November 16th 1934, he was the eldest son of the late Edward “Ned” and Eleanor Jean (Thomson) Coleman. Robert was employed by APM Ltd. in Moncton and Bathurst, NB, and a former member of the Royal Canadian Air force. He is survived by his wife Gloria (Adshade), two sons Eddie Cormier and Allen Arsenault by a previous marriage, one sister Carole LeBlanc (Leandre), a brother Ronald (Hazel) both of Moncton and a brother Wayne (Marjorie) of Nova Scotia, as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation by request. A private family service will be held. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care of Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.

ZINCK, Lamont B. - 79, Lake Pleasant, Annapolis County, died April 28, 1993, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lake Pleasant, he was a son of the late Wilbert and Gertrude (Acker) Zinck. He is survived by his wife, the former Annetta Veinot; daughter, Marilyn, Union Square, Lunenburg County; four sons, Clyde, Prince Albert, Annapolis County; Byron, Kentville; Owen, Falkland Ridge, Annapolis County; Allan, Lake Pleasant; sister, Violet Veinotte, Aylesford; two brothers, Donald, Lake Pleasant; Oran, New Germany; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene; two sisters, Damie, Audrey; half-brother, Perry Acker. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in New Germany Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Springfield United Baptist Church, Rev. Jerry Zinck officiating. Burial will be in Springfield United Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to New Germany and Area Medical Centre Association, Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Springfield Fire Department or any charity.

Newton Veinotte 1942 Bridgewater Bulletin
The death of Newton Veinotte occurred at his home in New Burn Saturday, June 13th, at the age of 69 years, 11 months. He had been in failing health for the past six months.
He leaves to mourn their loss, one daughter, (Ruth) Mrs. Kenenth Wentzell, Waterville; six sons, Willard and Warren of New Burn; Maynard and Lloyd of Cross Roads; Maurice and Perry, at home; and fourteen grandchildren. His wife, formerly Matilda Eisnor, predeceased him four years ago; also a
daughter, Ida, a number of years ago.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, Rev. C. Veinotte conducting the service at the Anglican Church, of which he was a member. The pall-bearers were his sons, Maynard, Maurice, and Perry, and nephew, Hibbert Veinot.

Mrs. Albertha Veinotte 1971 Bridgewater Bulletin
Mrs. Albertha E. Veinotte of Newburne, widow of the late Ozem Veinotte, passed away on November 19, at the D.M. Hospital, Bridgewater, at the age of 84.
Born at Newburne, she was the former Albertha Eisenhauer, daughter of the late Eber and Margaret (Dagley) Eisenhauer. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Oran Joudrey) of Newburne; two grandsons, George Joudrey,
Bridgewataer and Curtis Joudrey, Halifax; three great grandchildren, Kenneth, Alison and Jennifer. Also surviving are one sister, Lena (Mrs. Henry Carver) Newburne and one brother, Allen, of Upper Cornwall.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1917; one son, Lawrence in 1937; one son, Joseph, in infancy; and two brothers, Ernest in 1969 and a younger brother, Talbot; several sisters in childhood.
The funeral service was held in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Newburne, of which she was a member, with Rev. Rolf Meindel officiating. The choir, with Mrs. Harold Langille, organist, sang, "Forever With the Lord, " "Will Your Anchor Hold, " "and "Unto The Hills Around." Interment was in the Newburne Cemetery.

OICKLE, Robert James - 64, Bridgewater, died August 8, 1998, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Ezekiel and Maude (Joudrey) Oickle. Surviving are his wife, the former Ruby Corkum; daughters, Sherry (Mrs. Terry Conrad), Lower Sackville; Nancy, Bridgewater; Pam (Mrs. James Meisner), Chelsea, Lunenburg Co.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Toby (Mrs. Everett Fancy), New Glasgow; Audrey Stewart, Auburndale; brother, George, Auburndale. He was predeceased by daughter, Judith; sisters, Margaret, Edith, Mona, Phyllis; brothers, Harold, Eric, Rex, Avard. No visitation by request. Memorial service 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. James Slack Sr. officiating. Burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. Donations to Cape Breton Society of the Deaf, 56 N.E. Pean St., Sydney, B1P 6A8 or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater.

ACKER, Everett Vaughn - 84, Kingston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2007, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Born in Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late Caleb and Dorothy (Burgoyne) Acker. Everett served as a corporal with the R.C.R.'s in the Canadian Army during the Second World War from 1939-1945 in England, France, Holland and Germany. He was the recipient of the Liberation of Holland medal. Everett will be remembered for his strong and everlasting love for his wife, Jean, who was the fire in his soul and the stars in his eyes. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, the former Jean Parker; sons, Vaughn (Jolanta), Annapolis Royal; Doug (Patricia), Cambridge; Troy (Jennifer), Aylesford; grandchildren, Caleb (Bella), Krystal (Chris), Lewis (Tasha), Ashley (Cory), Chase, Sheena; three great-granddaughters; sisters, Kathleen Barteaux, Torbrook; Juanita Mailman, Caledonia, and Marie Whilliams, England. He was predeceased by brother, Calvin. By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, in Kingston Baptist Church, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in Kingston United Cemetery. Everett's family would like to express their thanks to all of the nurses and support staff who provided such loving care to Everett during his time at Camp Hill. We all felt better knowing he had such caring people with him everyday. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Recreation Department Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax.

UHLMAN, Ruth Louise - 73, Westfield, Queens Co., formerly of West Northfield, Lunenburg Co., passed away September, 4, 2003, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Upper Northfield, she was a daughter of the late Maynard and Gertrude (Veinot) MacKay. She is survived by her husband, Martin; children, David (Nancy) Langille, Branch LaHave; Donna (Curtis) Hirtle, West Northfield; Brian (Penny) Langille, New Canada; grandchildren, Jamie (Sara) Hirtle, Melissa Hirtle, Todd Langille; great-grandchildren, Madison and Allison Hirtle; sister, Marjorie DeLong, Barss Corner; brother, Vernon (Shirley) MacKay, Upper Northfield. She was predeceased by her first husband, Elwood Langille; brother, Carroll. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Pastor Marilyn Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Queens Fire Department or a charity of your choice.

RITCHIE, Rodney Laurie - 52, Auburn, Kings Co., died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Laurie and Miriam (MacCarthy) Ritchie. Over the years, Rodney had been employed as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, well driller and, for the past six years, had worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Aylesford United Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia Ward; son, Rodney J., Calgary, Alta.; daughters, Deanna (Mrs. Wade Johnson), Tammy Ritchie and companion George Hardy, all of Aylesford; grandchildren, Nicole and Dillon; brothers, Arthur, Auburn; Wayne, Hall Road; foster brothers, Wayne and Murray Legge, Rhodes Corner, Lunenburg Co.; mother-in-law, Thelma Ward, Berwick; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Geraldine Lutz. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, June 3, in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in Aylesford United Church, Rev. Howard Crooks officiating. Burial in Aylesford United Church Cemetery. A reception to follow at the family home, 2203 Hwy. 1, Auburn. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice.
