Mrs. Elva Weagle
The death of Mrs.Elva Weagle took place suddenly on Saturday at the age of 77 years.
Born in Pine Grove, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Ladia (Whynot) Oickle.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. William Conrad, Bridgewater; and a brother, Dell, Lower Branch. There are several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall, five brothers, and two sisters.
After resting at the Mahone Funeral Home until Tuesday afternoon, she was taken to St. James Anglican Church where funeral services were held. Rev. W.E. Dye was the officiating clergyman. Music was provided by the organist, Miss Gertie Smeltzer and the church choir. Hymns sung were "O God of Bethel" and "The Lord's My Shepherd."
Burial was in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Pallbearers were Elmer Dorey, Harry Aulenback, Douglas Hirtle, Aubrey Balcome, Nathan Joudrey, and Roy Conrad.

Mrs. Hector Mosher - The funeral of the late Mrs. Hector Mosher, who passed away at the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital August 14th, was held from Sweeny's Funeral Home Tuesday, August 17th. She was 60 years of age and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Obediah Rafuse of North West. Rev. R Webber was the officiating clergyman and interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pall bearers were nephews, Derrell and Ronald Oickle; Murray and Douglas Rhodenizer. The late Mrs. Mosher is survived by her husband Hector; one son Ronald of Halifax; and two grandchildren, Deborah and Sherrie. Also surviving are four sisters, Pearl (Mrs. William Veneau), Lunenburg; Mrs. Beulah Oickle, Northwest; Hildred, (Mrs. Douglas Schwartz), Mass; Lucille (Mrs. George Mullen), Mass. She was predeceased by three sisters, Leone (Mrs. Arthur King), Mass; Minerva (Mrs. James Daniels), Halifax; and Vivian (Mrs. Mark Rhodenizer), Cookville.

BECK, Douglas Leon - 66, Newburne, Lunenburg Co., died May 31, 1998, in Lower Branch, Lunenburg Co. Born in Newburne, he was a son of the late Clarence Maynard and Jennie Beatrice (Eisnor) Beck. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Newburne. During his working years, he was a custodian at New Germany Rural High School and caretaker at Camp Kadimah, Scarsdale, Lunenburg Co. He was also a hobby farmer. Surviving are son, Mitchell, Barss Corner; sister, Shirley (Mrs. Bernard Durling), Yarmouth; brothers, Donald, Harold, Newburne; Murray, Watford; George, Capreol, Ont.; two grandsons; many nieces and nephews; close friend, Shirley Duncalfe, Lower Branch. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Joyce Eisener; sister, Joan Zinck. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in New Germany Funeral Home, 4895 Rte. 10, New Germany. WEBBER, Franklin Otto - 87, Dartmouth, formerly of New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth. Born in Scarsdale, he was a son of the late Adam and Ella (Mossman) Webber. He served five years in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. The majority of his working career was as a millwright at the former Zwicker Brothers Mill, New Germany. He then worked for the Nova Scotia Department of Highways, where he retired. His gardens were known to many and he took great pride in the quality vegetables he could consistently grow. He was a member of Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Barss Corner. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 64 years, the former Jean Veinot; son, Charles (Sue), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Natalie (Joel), Nathan (Shauna); great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Alexander; sisters, Thurza London, Hartland, N.B.; Zella Burns, New Germany; Thelma Pierce, Halifax; Gertrude Veinot, New Ross; E. Marie Snyder, Hemford; brother, Leroy, Barss Corner; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, and son, Frankie at age four; twin sisters at birth; sisters, Susan and Francis Hubley. No visitation at the funeral home by request. The family invite friends to visit them an hour prior to the funeral service which will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday in Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Barss Corner, Rev. HICKS, Thelma Allilian - 70, Digby, died July 1, 1994, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Springfield, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Nina (Starratt) DeLaney. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, where she served on various church council committees. She was past president of Tops; ladies auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 20 and a volunteer worker with Tideview Terrace, Digby. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Russell; two daughters, Luella (Mrs. Robert Marshall), Clementsport; Linda (Mrs. John Baxter), Lower Sackville; two sons, Dudley, Head of Chezzetcook; Richard, Mount Uniacke; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Anglican Church. Burial will be in Bayview United Cemetery. Arnold Aaron Veinot, 69, Newcombville, died Tuesday in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Baker Settlement, he was a son of the late Jason and Eva (Ernst) Veinot. He is survived by his wife, the former Faye Wile; a son, Ervine, Waterloo; five daughters, Diane Wagner, Rosalyn Veinot, both of Midville Branch; Katherine Spidell, Wileville; Susan (Mrs. David Wagner), Upper Branch; Donna (Mrs. Peter Evans), Lower Branch; three brothers, Leo, Vancouver; Aaron, Middlefield; Albert, Baker Settlement; five sisters, Linda Dominoe, Georgina Veinot, both of Bridgewater; Bernice Fraser, Dayspring; Ellen (Mrs. Russell Stewart), Hebbs Cross; Marion Uhlman, New Elm; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth; two brothers, Kenneth and Wallace; a sister, Mary. The body is in R.A. Corkum's Funeral Home, Wileville. visiting 7-9 p.m. Thursday. ADAMS, Georgina Norma Eileen — 77, Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Baker Settlement in 1932, she was a daughter of the late Jason and Eva (Ernst) Veinot. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Keith) Haughn, Hebbville; son, Cyril (Heather) Veinot, Windsor Junction; sisters, Ellen Stewart, Camperdown; Marion Uhlman, New Germany; grandchildren, Jason, Cole, Brianna and Philip; stepchildren, Jack (Linda) Adams, Georgia; Heather Long, British Columbia; Karen (Arne) Peterson, Alberta; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sinclair "Bob" Adams; brothers, Leo, Wallace, Arnold, Albert, Aaron, Kenneth; sisters, Linda, Mary, Bernice. No visitation at the funeral home by request. HILCHIE, Phyllis M. RN - 84, Chester, passed away Monday, February 25, 2002, in South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Marriott's Cove, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Myrtle (Hiltz) Hiltz. Educated in the Little Red School House in Marriott's Cove, Phyllis entered the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing in 1936. Taught by the capable Sisters of Charity she graduated in 1939. After graduating she did private duty nursing in Halifax and Chester. She was a life member of the Halifax Infirmary Alumni Association. A volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross, she solicited blood donors and assisted at the Blood Donor Clinic for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church and a member of the Altar Guild for several years. A former member of Shoreham Village Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for 15 years. Surviving are loving sons, Gary and wife Mary, Stratford, P.E.I.; Danny and wife Judy, Coldbrook; grandchildren, Martin, Carol Ann and Stephen, Prince Edward Island; Jayson and Johanna, Nova Scotia; special friend and caregiver, Rose Feader, Windsor Road; brothers-in-law, George (Shirley), Wharton Hilchie, Chester; sister-in-law, Marie Vienotte, New York; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Theodore; son, Theodore Jr. in infancy; brother, Roland Hiltz; sister, Marguerite Hennigar. An avid bridge player and reader, she enjoyed life to the fullest. Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by members of her family. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 1, in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, Rev. BRUHM, Murray E. - 87, Middle Cornwall, Lunenburg Co., died April 10, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Middle Cornwall, he was a son of the late Wilbert and Lillie (Banks) Bruhm. Surviving are daughters, Rosamond Langille, Middle Cornwall; Barbara Keddy, Sarnia, Ont.; son, Paul, Orillia, Ont.; sister, Mabel Veinotte, Middle Cornwall; grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Bertha (Nauss); sons, Bruce, Floyd; sisters, Mildred, Marion; brother, Maurice. No Visitation. A graveside service at 3 p.m. Wednesday in United Baptist Cemetery, New Cornwall, Rev. Robert Rock officiating. Donations to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, New Cornwall or any charity. Ira David Eisner
Friends and relatives were saddened to learn of the passing of Ira David Eisner, prominent Somerset farmer, at Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital, Wolfville, on Monday, November 5th, following several months illness.
Born at Scarsdale, Lunenburg County, 50 years ago, he was the son of the late Bennett and Ida (Sarty) Eisner. He had a kind and generous nature and was held in high esteem by his many friends.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Jefferson; four sons, Allison, Welsford, Kings County; Lloyd and Wayne, at home; one daughter, Elva (Mrs. Donald DeMonge), Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; four brothers, Ezra, Collins, Albert, and Joseph, Barss Corner; five sisters, Lilla (Mrs. Sheldon George), Hartford, Conn.; Alma (Mrs. Elden Joudrey), Barss Corner; Annie (Mrs. Arnold Garber), Aylesford; Mrs. Charity Reeves, Halifax and Mrs.Enid Grover, Bridgewater.
The funeral was held in the Berwick Baptist Church, November 8 at 2 p.m. with interment in the Berwick Cemetery. The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. James D. Davison. Mrs. Forman Baltzer and Mrs. Gerald West sang two duets, "Good Night Here and Good Morning There" and "Under His Wings."
Pallbearers were Barry Spicer, Gordon Salsman, Kingston; Raymond Meldrum and Malcolm Keddy, Aylesford.
The large congregation and numerous floral tributes were expressions of love and sympathy of many relatives and friends who are grieved by the loss sustained in his passing.
