Mrs. James CARSON, 72, of Windsor, died Sunday at her home. Born in South Alton, Kings County, she was the former Susan Amanda ARENBURG, daughter of the late George and Maria (VEINOTT) ARENBURG. She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Marie, (Mrs. Peter DEMONKSEY), Sudbury, Ont.; Ethel (Mrs. Embert LANTZ), Bramber; Dorothy (Mrs. Gilbert C ARD) in Massachusetts; Evelyn, at home; Caroline (Mrs. Murray LIGHTFOOT) in New Jersy; a son, James, Sudbury, Ont.; three sisters, Sarah (Mrs. Henry BUTLER) and Maggie (Mrs. Ambrose KEDDY ), both of South Alton; Mrs. Jennie DeLONG, Kentville; four brothers, Frank, Kentville; Bill, New Minas; Joe, Dartmouth; Harry, Berwick; 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. The body is at Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor, where funeral will be held held today at 2 p.m. Rev.Gerad Steeves will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
CLUNEY, Wesley E.M. - 70, Head of Chezzetcook, passed away January 25, 2004, at home, after a lengthy illness. Born in Sherbrooke, he was a son of the late Sydney and Letia (Babineau) Cluney. Surviving are brothers, Carvel Cluney; Kenneth (Linda) Cluney; sisters, Edith Foster, Jeanette Hall; sister-in-law, Violet Cluney; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Raymond and Frederick; sister, Everist; stepfather, Glenn Aulinback. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 29, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Burial will be held at a later date in Sherbrooke. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
DELONG, Jennie Victoria - 82, New Minas, formerly of Kentville, died April 4, 1997, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born at North River Road, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late George and Annie (Veinot) Arenburg. She was a member of New Horizons Senior Citizens Group; an honorary member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 Ladies Auxiliary, and had been employed at K&P; Handyland, Kentville. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Blake Delong; six sisters and six brothers. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary service 7 p.m. Sunday, funeral 11 a.m. Monday, all in W.C. LANGILLE, Frances Loraine - 78, of Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg, and formerly of Northwest, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006, in Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. Born in Nictaux Falls, she was a daughter of the late Shirley and Mabel (Varner) Barteaux. In her earlier years, Frances taught school, and later nursed for two years at the Seniors Home in Bridgetown. She was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg. She is survived by son, Kerry Langille, Northwest; foster sons, David Knickle, Lunenburg; Morton Knickle and companion, Phyllis Benoit, Northwest; sister, Janice Wagner, Berwick; stepsisters, Joy (Tom) Bird, Bridgewater; Ann, Halifax; and Beth Barteaux, Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband, Lomer Thomas Langille; brother-in-law, Richard Wagner; and stepmother, Cora Barteaux. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. A graveside and committal service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Northwest Baptist Church Cemetery, Northwest, Rev. Grace Caines-Corkum officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family or to a charity of your choice.
Mrs. Mildred Wentzell
Mildred Catherine, wife of George Wentzell, passed away at her home in Maplewood, August 6, 1958, following a short illness. She was born at Cornwall, September 13, 1906, and was the daughter of Lily Banks Bruhm and the late Wilbert Bruhm.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons and three daughters: Beatrice, Pearl, Mabel; Roger, Lowell, and Wilbert. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Lily Bruhm of New Cornwall; two sisters, Mabel (Mrs. Laurence Veinot) of New Cornwall; Marion (Mrs. Clarence Wagner) of New Germany; and two brothers, Murray of New Germany and Maurice of New Cornwall. Mrs. Wentzell will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of Parkdale-Maplewood Baptist Church. She took an active part in all community work and was also a member of Rhodora Rebekah Lodge, No. 116.
The largely attended funeral was held fromParkdale-Maplewood Church at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, with Rev. Eric Miner officiating. Hymns sung were "A Shelter in the Time of Storm, " "Meet Me There, " and "Saved By Grace."
Pallbearers were Oran Veinot, Carl Spidle, Paul zinck, Maynard Veinot, Gerald Cook, and Milton Rhodenizer.
Interment was in Parkdale Cemetery. Rhodora Rebekah Lodge held their ceremony at the cemetery.
WHYNOT, Maxine P. - 67, Liverpool, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Dora (Whynot) Oickle. Maxine worked for Mersey Seafoods and was also a member of the Canoe and Camera Club. Maxine is survived by daughters, Doreen Smith, Liverpool; Darlene (George) Hatt, Lunenburg; Donna (Michael) Arnenburg, New Canada; Marjorie Cosby, Milton; sons, Syd (Midge Balcom), Mark (Louise), both of Milton; Stephen (Joan Wamboldt), Liverpool; sister, Brenda (John) Cunningham, Milton; brothers, Robert, Lockeport; Gary (Deborah) and Ronnie (Shelia), both of Milton; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 4, in Chandlers' Funeral Chapel, Liverpool at 2 p.m., Rev. Greg Denton officiating. Burial will be at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Queens General Hospital Foundation.
Joseph Eldridge Ernst
Joseph Eldridge Ernst, 88, Blockhouse, died Thursday in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Union Square, he was a son of the late Amos and Lavinia (Oickle)Ernst. He was a woodsman and carpenter. He is survived by two sons, Llewellyn, Claude, both of Blockhouse; four sisters, Mrs. Grace MacKay, New Germany; Mrs. Vera MacKay, Genevieve (Mrs. Leon Veinot), both of Upper Northfield; Miss Maude Ernst, Union Square; a brother, Obediah, Union Square; a granddaughter, Eugenie. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Amy Pearl Aulenback; three sisters, Alice, Mary, Minnie; five brothers, Howard, Freeman, Charles, Ray, Leroy in infancy. The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Rod Gillis officiating. Burial in Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Donations to Fishermen's Memorial Hospital or any charity.

Veinot, Paul Ernest, 68. The Forties Lunenburg County, died Sunday at home. Born in Greenwood he was a son of the late Wesley and Ruby Veinot. He served overseas in First Parachute Battalion during the Second World War. He was an electrician prior to being postmaster in New Ross for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Boylan; three sons, Allan, Maplewood; Neil; Kentville; Larry; Middle Sackville; three daughters, Donna Elliott, Susan (Mrs. Doran Veinott), Linda (Mrs. Dwight Saunders) all of New Ross' a brother Maxwell, New Ross, 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Laird, a sister Joyce Gates' a brother Vaughn. The body is in H.C. Lindsay's Memorial Chapel, New Ross, visiting 2-4, 7-9 today. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Augustine's Anglican Church. The Forties, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart Fund or any Charity.

MURPHY, Grace Marguerite - 90, Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, formerly of The Lodge, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 4, 2008 in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born in Mahone Bay on July 30, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Jason and Elnora (Oickle) Oickle. She is survived by her husband, Harris; son, Earl (Hazel); daughter, Nellie (Purvis); half-sister, Jean Robar, and great-niece, Tanya, who was like a granddaughter; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Dell M.; seven sisters and three brothers. Funeral service will be held in 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Mill Cove, Rev. Laura McCue Officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. No visitation or flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rosedale Home for Special Care - Van Fund, New Germany, or a charity of choice. LAWRENCE KEDDY - Stellarton, 85, passed away at the Aberdeen Hospital Friday. He was born in Lake Granby, Lunenburg County. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lazrus Keddy, he came to Stellarton as a young man and worked in the Allan Shaft. He was a member of Christ Anglican Church. Surviving are seven daughters, Kate (Mrs. J. Dakens); Pauline (Mrs. Chas MacKinnon); Nora (Mrs. Henry Marcott); all of Stellarton, Sarah (Mrs. Chas Kowoloski), West River; Bessie (Mrs. Pat LeBlanc), Pictou; Georgina (Mrs. George Morrison), Glace Bay; Eliza (Mrs. Richard Hawbolt), Canso; four brothers and one sister, William of New Ross, Emerson and Osborne of Lake Granby, Harvey of Port William and May (Mrs. William MacDonald) of Windsor. Remains are resting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dakens of North Foard Street. Funeral arrangements were not completed.

MURPHY, Clarence Reginald "Reg" - 74, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Friday, April 28, 2000, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Aylesford, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Charles H. and Emma A. (Steadman) Murphy. He had worked for Dr. Bezanson; the Canning Factory in Aylesford and for Piercey's Supplies in Halifax for 42 years. Surviving are his wife, Florence (Meldrum) Murphy, Berwick; son, Barry (Joann) Murphy, Lower Sackville; daughters, Elaine Murphy, Aylesford; Ann (Ron) Carrigan, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Kevin, Tina, Melissa, Stephanie and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Shea, Christopher and Liam; brothers, Irvin, Halifax; Allison, Dartmouth; Clayton, Bridgetown; sisters, Dorothy McKay, Gladys Hiscoe, Elsie Wagstaff, all of Aylesford; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Harold, James and Charles; sisters, Edna Whynott, Mary Hiltz and Audrey Murphy. Visitation will be held from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday, both in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, Rev. Donald MacPherson officiating. Burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Eldridge Kenneth Aulenback
The death of Eldridge Kenneth Aulenback occurred at the home of his father on Friday afternoon, January 10th, at the early age of 17 years and 10 days, after a short illness. He was a bright young man and his genial disposition endeared him to many, who are very sorrowful in his passing. He is survived by his father, four brothers, and six sisters, Gordon of Halifax; Cyril, Fred, and Everett of Bridgewater; Mrs. Grant McGrath, Halifax; Mrs. Victor Hardy, Halifax; Mrs. Fred Jodrey, Mrs. Bert Jodrey, Mrs.William Zinck, and Mrs. Fred Weagle of Bridgewater.

OICKLE, Eva Beatrice — It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Beatrice Oickle, 90, of Ryan Hall, Bridgewater, formerly of Blockhouse, announce her passing on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Blockhouse, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Gladys (Demone) Eichel. Eva’s family was the most important part of her life and home, a special place where she loved to cook and bake. Within the community and surrounding area a variety of people were blessed to benefit from her talent as a great seamstress. This energetic lady was active and lived life to the fullest until her passing. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay. Eva is survived by daughter, Carla (Ross) Pentz, Bridgewater; son, David (Anne) Oickle, Labelle; sisters, Susan Wagner, Mahone Bay; Dorothy Veinotte, Blockhouse; and Gloria Joudrey, Mahone Bay; grandchildren, Trina (Paul) Oickle-Pottie and Deanne Oickle (Kevin Conrad); great-grandchildren, Hannah and Mariah Kelley; step grandson, Jorel Pentz; step greatgrandchildren, Jessica and Ben Pottie. She was predeceased by husband, Charles. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. No. 3, Lunenburg. Mrs. Fred Weagle
Mrs. Fred Weagle, 69, Bridgewater, died Sunday, December 10, 1972, at Halifax County Hospital. Born in Liverpool, she was the former Lottie Aulenback, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Aulenback. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Thomas White), Halifax; Helen (Mrs. Fenwick Joudrey), Bridgewater; two sisters, Mrs. Violet McGrath, Halifax; Mrs. Elva Zinck, Wileville; one brother, Everett, Wileville; and two grandchildren, Connie and Marjorie White.
The body rested at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Rev. Ronald Harris officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery.
