Mrs. Cheryl Ann Scott
Cheryl Ann Scott - 65, formerly of White Rock, Kings County, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Eleanor (Crossman) Martin.
She had been employed for a number of years as a C.N.A. at the former Nova Scotia Sanatorium, Kentville.
She is survived by a son, Roger, White Rock; seven sisters, Barbara (Lyle) Smith, Lintlaw, Saskatchewan; Margo (Robert) Murphy, Hackett’s Cove; Sheila LeBlancq, Dartmouth; Marlene (Douglas) Calder, Amherst; Patti (Dennis) Harrison, River Phillip; Mary Lou Park, Springhill; Gerine (Don) Davis, Sackville; a brother, Paul (Jeanie) Martin, Cambridge; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Scott.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation, by request.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating.
Burial will take place in the Black River Cemetery, Kings County.
Donations in memory may be made to the Black River Cemetery or the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Phyllis A. Eagles
1931-2010
Phyllis Aileen Eagles - 78, of New Minas, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Canning, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruby (Dickie) Ells.
She was an active member of the New Minas United Church, where she was involved with the choir.
Phyllis was an avid duplicate bridge player and enjoyed morning coffees with her friends at McDonald’s and Tim Horton’s.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Eagles, White Rock; Karen Frank, Coldbrook; Debra Eagles, Amsterdam, Holland; a son, Gregory, White Rock; four grandchildren, Adam (Terry) Frank, Ottawa; Sarah Frank, Kentville; Dax Franzen, Amsterdam and Cayle Eagles, Wolfville; two sisters, Roselyn Moore, Upper Dyke and Diane (Harold) Miller, Amherst; a brother, Laurie (Bonnie), Middleton.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Bertram “Bert” Eagles; three brothers, Wilbur, Beverly and Howe.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation by family request.
The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend David Hewitt officiating.
Burial will take place in the Canard Burial Ground, Kings County.
Family flowers only, by request.

Chopin "Chops" Leon Viger
1931-2009
Chopin “Chops” Leon Viger (1931 - 2009) - of New Minas, NS died peacefully at his home with family present on Tuesday, November 10.
Born in Montreal, he was the son of Marthe Noel and the late Leon Viger.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Sonia and Carol and his brother, Bobby and is survived by his brother, Andre; his sisters, Dolly, Mitch, Vi, Lucy, Cosette, Diane and Krissy.
He will be lovingly remembered by Dorothy and their children, Mitzi (Bob), Neal (Helen), Lester (Hope), Leon (Lisa) and Chris (Judy); their grandchildren Cole, Celia, Morgan, Dan, Connor, Torin, Marcus, Noelle, Kate, Catherine and Erin and his many other family and friends.
After a brief stint in the Navy, Chops joined the Air Force in 1952, where he realized his love of flying.
He was a fighter pilot for over twenty years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
A highlight of his military career came in 1973 when as commander of 421 Squadron in Baden, Germany, he received the Squadron’s Colours from Prince Philip.
He became a Canadian Tire Dealer upon retiring from the military, which brought him to Nova Scotia.
Among his many activities he was Chair of Canadian Tire Dealer Holdings Board of Directors, developed the Dealers’ Code of Ethics, served as Director of Human Relations and VP on the Board of Directors.
Over his twenty year career, he inspired and employed hundreds of people.
Not one to retire, he has actively pursued alternative fuel sources in an effort to leave a better world for his grandchildren.
Chopin had a life-long love of music and he was an accomplished pianist.
He lived life to the fullest sailing, traveling, mountain climbing, scuba diving, skiing, and of course flying.
He impacted the lives of everyone he met.
Cremation has taken place.
As per his request, there will be no visitation.
The funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Roy White, Chaplain-Retired, officiating.
Family flowers only by request.
Donation in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation.
The family would like to thank the Victorian Order of Nurses and home care workers for their kindness and professionalism.

Mr. Ross Lawson Kelley
1955-2009
Ross Lawson Kelley … 53, of West Brooklyn Mountain, Kings County, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Wolfville on October 15, 1955, Ross was the son of Paul Kelly, West Brooklyn Mountain and the late Joan Kelley.
Surviving are his son, Chris Morine, Melanson Mountain; sisters, Lova (Neil) Gaul, Corabelle (David) Guptill, Kathy Gould, Pauline (Raymond) Pinch, all of West Brooklyn Mountain; Karen (Keith) Keddy, Port Williams; Loretta (Edward) Dominey, Centreville; Laura (Timothy) Brown, West Brooklyn Mountain; several nieces and nephews.
Ross was predeceased by his mother, grandparents and a baby nephew, Benjamin Coburn.
Ross was employed with Scotia Recycling, Kentville.
He enjoyed old country music, hunting, four wheeling and playing jokes on his family and co-workers.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or flowers by family request.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating.
Burial will take place in the West Brooklyn Cemetery.
A reception will follow in the West Brooklyn Community Centre.
