Wayne Dalrymple

Wayne c. Dalrymple, age 62, of Windsor, passed away Thursday, June 13th, 2002, at home. Born in Windsor he was a son of the late Rodney earl Dalrymple.
Wayne worked for minas Basin for a number of years. He also did odd jobs for people over the years.
He is survived by sister, Joan, Cape Breton; brothers, Keith Dalrymple, Halifax; Wray Dalrymple, Prince George, B.c.; aunt Minnie (Donald) Walsh, Bluff Road, Hants Border.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont. Arrangements entrusted to Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor.
Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Marguerite C. Young

Marguerite C. Young, age 79, of Hantsport, passed away Friday, June 14, in Valley regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born November 21, 1922, in Wentworth, Hants County., she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Doris (Spicer) Shay.
She was employed for many years at Ted Smith's General store in Windsor. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Windsor and the A.C.W. She loved gardening and had a special love for cats.
Marguerite is survived by daughters, Marilyn (Phillip) Pineo, Canning; Julie (Rod) Hunter, Cole Harbour; sisters, Carol (Benny) Caldwell, Three Mile Plains; Patsy Siler, Windsor; brother, Doug (Maureen) Shay, Hantsport; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by grandson, Robert Scot Pineo; sisters, Connie Stevens, Claire Rick, Nancy Mosher; brothers, Alfred "Chum" Shay, William "Billy" Shay.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday In Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. Funeral Service 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, in the funeral home chapel, Rev. David Curry officiating. Burial to follow in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in memory may be made to the SPCA or a charity of one's choice.

Murray Harding O'LEARY

O'LEARY......Murray Harding, age 84, of Martock Back Road, Martock, Hants County, passed away on Tuesday, June 11th., 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on May 17th., 1918, in Leminster, Hants County, he was a son of the late Harding George and Effie (Wile) O'Leary.
Murray was born and grew up in Leminster, where he received his education. He spent his early life as a logger, then as a sawyer and later became a carpenter. He enjoyed working with wood and was an excellent cabinet and furniture maker. He bought and moved to a small farm in Three Mile Plains, in 1956 and remained there until his retirement in 1985. Murray and his wife Roxey moved to their new home, on the Martock Back Road and resided there until his death. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, quick wit and his willingness to provide a helping hand whenever and wherever needed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Roxey Meredith Redden; daughters, Barbara (Graham) Sancton, Hampton, Annapolis County; Effie (David) Smith, Upper Burlington; Elanne (Lincoln) Sanford, Brooks, Alta.; sons, Owen O'Leary, Ashland Road, Martock; Warren (Bonnie) O'Leary, Falmouth; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Olive Swinamer, Waterville, Kings County; Thelma O'Leary, Windsor; Aileen Swinamer, Gypsum Mines; Merle (Murray) Phillips, Falmouth; brother, Milton O'Leary, Windsor Forks.
He was predeceased by sons-in-law, Wayne Hunter and Michael Gough; great grandson, Kevin Belliveau; sisters, Lillian Keddy and Winnifred Wilson.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12th., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13th., 2002, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, followed by a reception at Lindsay's Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street, Windsor.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to All Saints Anglican Church, Leminster (c/o Lois Hines, R.R.#3 Windsor, B0N 2T0) or to the Hants Community Hospital (Palliative Care Unit)

Helen Marie ROURKE

ROURKE......Helen Marie, age 77, of Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, June 11th., 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on March 28th., 1925, in Hants Border, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Georgie (O'Toole) Barker.
She was a resident of Dykeland Lodge, for the last several years and a longtime resident of Windsor. She was a good friend to those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo-Ellen (Bruce) Dupuis, Coldbrook; a son, Tim Rourke, Barrie, Ont.; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Kevin Dupuis; Ashton and MacKenzie Rourke; sister, Ethel (Malcolm) Pitman, Halifax; brother, Arnold (Claire) Barker, Windsor; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Owen Barker.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 13th., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14th., 2002, at the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, with Rev. Bill Gibson officiating.
Donations in memory, may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Canada (Maritime Region); the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of ones choice.

Leah Irene Aylward

Leah Irene Aylward, 94, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on August 27, 1907, in Aldersville, Lunenburg County, she was the daughter of the late William and Amena (Hennigar) Turbitt.
She retired in 1977 after 25 years at Avon Valley Greenhouses Ltd., Falmouth, where she was a rose grader. She was a member of the Juniper Grove United Church, Falmouth, and was a former member of St. James Anglican Church, Aldersville. She loved her numerous motor trips across Canada and the United States. Her favorite pastimes were knitting, crocheting, playing rummy and watching her beloved Blue Jay's baseball team. She was a hard working community volunteer over the years and had a great sense of humor and loving nature.
She is survived by son, Donald , Falmouth; daughter, Bernice (Robert) Aylward, Victoria, B.C.; son, Lionel (Susan), Falmouth. She was known as "Nannie" to her grandchildren, John (fiancee, Kathy LeBlanc), Kimberly (Roger) Allen, Doug (Tammy), all of Falmouth; Rick Aylward and Barbara (Robert) Patterson, all of Victoria, B.C.; and by her great grandchildren, Jason and Jake Aylward; Isaac and Hannah Allen. Also by her future great grandchildren, as of July 20, Marc and Melissa; brother, Raymond (Gladys) Turbitt, Aldersville; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Leon Aylward, on June 2, 1940, as a result of a tragic drowning accident which left her with 3 young children to raise. A sister, Gertrude Russell and brothers, William, Harry, Harold, Fred and Lloyd.
Visitations 7-9 pm Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 Monday, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 11, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment at the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth.
Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Borden William Lynch

Borden William Lynch, 91, of Newport Corner, Hants County, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on December 7, 1910, in Newport Corner, he was the son of the late Gladstone and May (Dockrill) Lynch.
Borden was a lifelong farmer in Newport Corner and also worked as custodian at Hants West Rural High School. He enjoyed gardening and taking a nice drive. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Grace Amelia Smith; daughters, Sharon (David) Sanford, Scotch Village, Valarie, at home; grandsons, Oscar Sanford and fiancee Heather, Peter (Miranda) Sanford; great granddaughter Samantha; niece Valeria; and nephew Russell.
He was predeceased by sisters, Rhoda Anderson, Mildred Salter and Beatrice Lycett; brother, Russell Lynch; niece, Joyce; and nephew, David.
Visitation 6-8 pm Saturday, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, June 2, 2002, in the Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating, with interment in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Borden may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Carl Ernest Victor Gormley, Sgt. CD (Ret'd)

Carl Ernest Victor Gormley, Sgt. CD (Ret'd), 68, of Paradise, Annapolis County, pased away quietly surrounded by his family, Saturday, May 25, 2002, at the Valley Regional hospital, Kentville.
Born on December 23, 1933, in Windsor, he was a son of the late Norman and Myrtle (DeLaughry) Gormley.
Carl served 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and was past president of the Canadian Guards Association, Atlantic Branch. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33, Bridgetown.
Carl is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Marguerite Murphy; sons, Danny (Suzanne), Centreville, Bruce (Gladys), Clementsport; daughters, Teresa (Darald) Lewis, South Williamston, Jennifer (Terry) Power, Tupperville; grandchildren, Sharon, Carl, Cassidy, Rianna and Brandon; great-grandson, Damon; sisters, Joyce Hines, Halifax, Georgina (Bill) Lever, Dartmouth, Carolina (Charles) Smith, Windsor, Pauline (Horace) Porter, Windsor; brother, Eric, Avonport.
He was predeceased by sisters, Muriel Collins and Mable Patterson as well as a brother Earl.
Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request.
Memorial service will be 2 pm Saturday, June 01, in the Chapel of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Rev. James H. MacIntosh is officiating, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Carl, may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville or to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.

Clarence Arthur Boyd

Boyd....Clarence Arthur, age 77, Windsor, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002. Born March 22, 1925 in Martock, Hants County., he was the only son of the late Freeman and Ruth (Redden) Boyd.
He was a former Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Air Force and later worked several years at R.D.Lindsay Funeral Home, Windsor. He was formerly employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Clarence retired after 38 years with the Fundy Gypsum Company and received the community service award of merit. He was the first Canadian to receive the U.S.G. Community Service award in 1985. Clarence was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch #9.
He was a former coach and secretary treasurer of Windsor Minor Hockey Association; a Boy Scout and Cub leader for 12 years; a member of the Canadian Cancer Society for over 25 years and received the certificate of Merit for outstanding service, along with his wife Kathleen "Keenie", the highest award given to a volunteer in Canada; the local Heart & Stroke Foundation for the last few years and a supporter of World Vision. Clarence was a member of Windsor United Church and served on the Board of Stewards as well as on the church session. He was a graduate of the Windsor Academy.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many.
Clarence is survived by sons, Gregory Mark Boyd (Catherine), Windsor; Jeffrey Freeman Boyd (Bernadette), Windsor Junction; grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, Breanna, and Mitchell; sister, Constance "Connie" Marguerite Boyd, Windsor. He was predeceased by his wife the former Kathleen "Keenie" Dill.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King st., Windsor. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in Windsor United Church, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating, assisted by Nancy Colton. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of one's choice.
