Eaton - H. Marie of St. Thomas, on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 88th year. Dear wife of Frederick L. Eaton and loved mother of Mary and her husband Robin Tully, Ted and his wife JoAnn Eaton and John and his wife Pat Eaton, all of Port Stanley. Predeceased by a sister Dorothy Smith. Sadly missed by 5 grandchildren Jim, Eleisha, Rob, Joan and Blair and by 9 great grandchildren Nykole, Mark, Carter, Tyler, Luke, Drew, Alexis, David, and Paul. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Marie was born in St. Thomas on August 20, 1916, the daughter of the late Harry Bowey and the late Amy Hawkins and step-daughter of the late Harry Hawkins. A Public Memorial service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Visitation Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Lung Association or the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
Giles - Amelia Hazel of Belmont on Sunday, February 8, 2004, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of Leslie W. Giles and the late Stan Jenskey. Dearly loved mother of Bruce and his wife Terry Bancroft of St. Thomas, Vickie and her husband Fred Erb of Listowel and Allen and his wife Jacqui Jenskey of St. Thomas. Dear step-mother of Raymond and his wife Donna Giles of Komoka and Lorna and her husband John Coakley of Dutton. Much loved grandmother of Derek Cummings and his fiancee Erin Seney, Bethany and Justin Erb, Sharon and Jayden Abel and Janet Davis. Dear step-grandmother of Steve and Jason Coakley and great grandmother of Christopher and Tyler. Dear sister of Earl and his wife Donna Grawburg of Belmont and Lorne and his wife Ruth Grawburg of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by a sister Margaret Stacy and a brother Bill Grawburg, and by her step-mother Edith Liddle. Dear sister-in-law of Don Stacy of Mississauga and Helen and husband Jim Silcox of St. Thomas. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in Malahide Township on November 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Allen and Ella Louise (Wright) Grawburg. She was a R.N.A. and worked for the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital a number of years, also for the Edythe Shop and Laidlaw Transport. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, North Yarmouth. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow, with interment of ashes in Elmdale cemetery. Wye - At London Health Sciences Centre (University) on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. Gary David Wye of St. Thomas in his 57th year. Dear brother of Margaret Pardy and husband Michael of R.R.#2, Springfield, Bill Wye of R.R.#2, Springfield and Gloria Roulston and husband David of Mossley. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Jim Wye, a sister-in-law Margaret Ann Wye and a brother-in-law George Worsfold. Born in South Dorchester Twp. on January 4, 1948 son of the late William and Mabel (Fleming) Wye. He worked at A. Schulman Canada Ltd. Gary was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and camping. Smith - Lydia Louise of R.R.#1, Iona Station on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, as the result of an accident in her 19th year. Dearly loved daughter of Philip and Jane (Vandenbroek) Smith and loved sister of Jennifer, Amanda, Carolyn, Kaitlan, John and Abigail. Loved granddaughter of John and Nancy Smith of Shedden and Casper and Marie Vandenbroek of Dutton. Loved niece of John & Sue Vandenbroek, Mark Vandenbroek, Rebecca & Doug Wheeler, Greg & Darlene Smith and Brian & Michelle Englehart. Sadly missed by a number cousins. Lydia was born in St. Thomas on October 8, 1985. She attended Southwold Public School and A.V.S.S. She was a member of Chalmers United Church and was active in 4 H a number of years. Lydia was an avid rider and loved her horse Star . Stoker - Suddenly in London on Monday, February 9, 2004, Edward James Roy Stoker at the age 22. Beloved son of Shirley Stoker of Woodstock and Kenneth Stoker (and his wife Linda) of Hamilton and grandson of Viola and the late Edgar Stoker and the late Alice and Gerald Walker. Dear father of Destiny Justice Marie Stoker. Dear brother of Janet Stoker (and her husband Vince Bracewell) of Beachville, Patricia Stoker (and her husband Tim Laarz), Ken Stoker, and B.J. Stoker, all of Harriston. Loving uncle of Chantel, Maisie, Keneshia, Chelsea and James. Also sadly missed by Charlie, Ron, and Alma, and his aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by Porky. Thomas - Elmer Elsworth (Tommy) of London, Ont. died on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of W. Jean (Gould) Thomas. Dear father of Brian of Iona, Stephen of St. Thomas, Daniel of London, Jerome and his wife Joan of St. Thomas, James and his wife Jacklyn of Mississauga. Grandfather of Dawn Stein and her husband Jamie of Kingsville; Andrew, Jennifer and Kyle Bailey-Thomas of Iona; Carlene and Paula Thomas of St. Thomas; Andrew, Allison and Connor Thomas of Mississauga. Great-grandfather of Trevor Moore and Tyler Stein of Kingsville. Born in Calgary, the son of the late Wilbur Leslie Thomas and Lenna Mae (Wallace) of Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by his brother Francis Robert of Delta, B.C. and his sister Ruth (Sharen) Nisbet of New Westminister, B.C. Also survived by a brother-in-law, Stewart Nisbet of New Westminister, B.C. and a sister-in-law, Mrs. R. A. (Edna) Jones of Kingston, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. Tommy served for three years in the Canadian Army during World War II. He retired in 1987 after more than 25 years of service in the Government of Ontario in the field of industrial training and education. He was a member of St. Thomas Masonic Lodge No. 44, Palestine Chapter No. 54 and Xella Grotto, London.

Wludyka - Kasimer of St. Thomas, and formerly of St. Catharines on Thursday, February 12, 2004, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Kent) Wludyka (June 9, 2000) and dear brother of Stella McEachern of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by 2 sisters Mary Kokoski and Josephine Gilles and a brother Stanley Wludyka. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Kasimer was born February 20, 1925, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Wludyka. He worked at G.M. St. Catharines over 35 years. He was a member of Holy Angels Church. Kasimer spent his youth at Whitney Pier, Nova Scotia. He loved to play hockey and baseball until he moved to St. Catharines in 1946. He moved to St. Thomas in 1998. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Saturday afternoon and then to Holy Angels Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home Saturday 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Holy Angels Elevator Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
