David Lawrence (Dave) Heimpel passed away Thursday evening, quite peacefully, after a long illness, at the age of 66. Dave will leave a void in the lives of his family, but they believe he is in the presence of the Lord. Dave's life was filled with passions; his passion for God as he prepared and delivered his Sunday sermons; his passion for golf which he played every chance he could (we're sure he's already booked at tee off time in Heaven), and his passion for his family and friends.
Dave leaves to mourn his children, daughter Deb O'Grady and husband Kevin, Ottawa and their daughter Leah Jones and Ryan Gallant, son Gordon Heimpel and wife Elizabeth, Stratford and their children Cody Heimpel and Bailey Heimpel, and son James Heimpel, Stratford. Also surviving are several cousins and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Dave was predeceased by his parents John and Olive (Bender) Heimpel and two brothers William and Donald Heimpel in infancy.
Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Dave's life at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Pastor William Kramer will officiate. Interment will be in Avondale cemetery. Everyone is invited to a reception at the Army, Navy and Air Force Hall, Lorne Ave, Stratford at 1 p.m. (Come and have a drink on Dave). As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Junior Golf Program at the Stratford Municipal Golf Course, and may be made through the funeral home.
Mae Christine Henry
Mae Christine Henry age 86 passed away peacefully at Country Meadows, Brunner, Ontario on Monday March 23, 2009. She was born in North Easthope Twp. daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Sloat. Mae was a former employee at International Artcrafts for 22 years prior to her retirement, and a member of St. Johns United Church. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Henry, October 9, 1972 and twelve brothers and sisters: Samuel, Roy, William, Gerald, George, Harold, Joseph, and Ken Sloat, Margaret Sloat, Isabel Kipfer, Ethel Sloat and Florence Henry. She is survived by two sisters in law Florence Sloat and Edith Henry and many nieces and nephews and their families.Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Maree Stoskopf
Mrs. Maree Stoskopf, age 97, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Cedarcroft Place on Friday, July 25, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband Carl in 1996.
Maree was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of Radiant Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #134 and a member of the Festival city Kiwins.
She will be missed by her sisters-in-law Margaret and Marie Stoskopf and Dorothy Scott. Also survived by 3 nephews and 3 nieces and Godchild and caregiver Gloria and Bernie Lawrence.
Predeceased by her brother Lockie Scott, sister Jeanne Morton brothers-in-law Earl and Otto Stoskopf and Glen Morton as well as niece Janet Morton

Marjorie Latham
Mrs. Marjorie Isabel Latham nee Lillico, age 81, died peacefully on Wednesday July 23, 2008 at the Stratford General Hospital. Born and educated in Ottawa, daughter of the late Collin Lillico and Eunice Whyte. Marjorie has been a lifelong member of the United Church, a CGIT leader, a Women’s Institute member and a member of the Perth Regiment IODE. Loving wife for 60 years of Ronald Latham and cherished mother of Neil Latham and Paula (Luigi) Civiero. Beloved grandmother of Tanya Hind (Christopher), Matthew Civiero (Kate) and Daniel Civiero, and great-grandmother of Liam Hind. She is also survived by her sister Norma Coughlin (Bert) and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie is pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law; Alvin Lillico (Joan) and Ken Lillico (Edelene). Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St. Stratford, on Sunday July 27 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, the Stratford General Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
Murray Vollmershausen
Murray Junior Vollmershausen, age 67, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday July 20, 2008. Born in Woodstock, Ontario son of the late Wilfred Vollmershausen and the former Stella Kipp. Murray was employed with the City of Stratford for 35 years until his retirement in 2000. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Weber) Vollmershausen who predeceased him on January 31, 2004. Loving father of Kevin Vollmershausen of Langley, B.C. and Leanne Vollmershausen of Stratford. Cherished grandfather of Brandon, Natalie, Martin, Ashley, Crystal, Justin and Cassandra. Dear brother of Audrey Steele, Marie Bradshaw, Helen Saunders, Donald Vollmershausen and Douglas Vollmershausen. Also survived by his partner Carroll Atwell and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mildred Johanna Schaefer, age 91, of Spruce Lodge, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday July 22, 2008.
Born in Logan Township, daughter of the late Michael Haggarty and the former Margaret White. Mildred and her late husband Albert farmed in Ellice Township retiring to Church Street in Stratford. She was involved with the Red Cross Homemakers and a member of the Gadshill Women’s Institute for many years. Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and the CWL. Beloved wife of the late Albert Schaefer who predeceased her January 21, 2005. Loving mother of Kenneth Schaefer. Dear sister of Helen Devereaux, Frank (Betty) Haggarty, Jerome (Teresa) Haggarty all of London, Margaret (Jack) O'Reilly of Mitchell. Also survived by sister-in-law Angela Haggarty of Stratford and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by brothers and sisters Ellahree Payton, Kaye Stapleton, Emmett (Joe) Haggarty, Leon Haggarty, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Clem Payton, Frank Stapleton, Bob Devereaux, Frances and Henry Quehl, Joseph and Gertrude Schaefer, Marjorie and Herbert Dietrich, Sister Victor Schaefer, Sister Veronica Schaefer, Agnes and Elmer Grieb. Alice Knechtel
Alice Kathleen Knechtel, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor, R. R. # 5 Stratford, on Monday, March 23, 2009 in her 98th year. She was born in Alberta daughter of the late Edwin and Anne Faulhafer and has lived most of her life in Stratford. Alice was always active in community affairs and was an avid part of the 'save the city hall committee'. She was a volunteer at Camp Bimini for many years and while at Hillside was active on the resident's council. Alice was a former member and active at Centennial United Church and presently a member at Parkview United. She was predeceased by her 1st husband Charles Douglas Plummer (Jan. 26, 1967) and her second husband Clayton Knechtel (Aug. 30, 2005).
Beloved mother of Raymond Plummer and wife Joan, Belleville, Jim Plummer and wife Hilda, Don Plummer and wife Joan, Bill Plummer, all of Stratford, Linda Kollman and husband Robert, Shakespeare, Cheryl McMahon and husband Dave, Stratford. Dear sister of Beatrice Babansee, Stratford. Mother-in-law of Betty and Eunice. Besides her parents and her two husbands she was predeceased by sons Clifford and Jack Plummer, daughters Lorna Sproule and Marlene Wilson, sons in law Sam Sproule and Norman Wilson, brother Stan Faulhafer and wife Georgina and a brother in law Ray Babansee. Connie Marie Copeland
Constance Marie (McCauley) Copeland, age 88, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday March 26, 2009.
Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Frank Hartleib and the former Emma Pope. Connie was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church where she served as a member of the C.W.L. for 49 years. She was also a 35 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her first husband Michael McCauley in 1973 and her second husband Kenneth Copeland in 1985. Loving mother of John McCauley (Linda), Bev Murray (Kenneth), Bob McCauley (Beverley), Gerry McCauley (Glady), Bill McCauley (Linda), Barb Young (Dan) and Cynthia McCauley. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Florence Butson (Len), Margaret Muma (Roy), Leon Hartleib (Grace). Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by brothers Jack, Tony, Robert, Donald and Jerome and a sister Theresa in infancy.Friends and relatives may call at the W.G.
